The Archos 605 provides a worthy alternative to the I-pod video, although it suffers from a less ergonomic design and is heavier due in part to the hard drive. However where it does better the ipod is it's durability with a rugged case and strong solid build quality feel to the buttons it will be hard to break. Archos 605 Wifi all round reveiw.

Advantages: Great screen quality and size, built in speaker and stand.
Disadvantages: The only downside is that it is fragile, and can be hard to get used to the on screen keyboard.

For its fantastically wide range of features including a touch screen, wireless internet, hard drive video storage (recordings can be made directly from a tv), photo storage and a great music library, this is the best value for money Multi-media player I have come across. The Archos comes with lots of accessories including a car headrest mounting case which is great for when your trying to entertain the kids in the back of the car on long journeys.
