Review of Argos (Shop)

Is it a catalogue? Or a shop? No it's a big waiting room (Argos)

Advantages: Cheap, sells lots of different things, in theory it's easy to shop there.
Disadvantages: Takes ages, too many queues, never seems to have what I want in stock.

...Argos is one of those shops which seems like a really good idea at first thought. To combine catalogue shopping with the ability to go and get the item from a store straight away with no big queues, no frantic superstore to search through, and the ease of just paying, picking it up and taking it away. The problem is that the idea and the reality just don't match up. For starters, Argos do display some items in store, so there's always a few people browsing. The queues are sadly evident and in fact seem to be larger than in most stores because you not only have to queue to pay, but you then have to queue (albeit sitting down) to collect your items. ...I would just like to share my own experiences of Argos, a shop that took my business earlier on this afternoon. I was looking for a storage item for my enormous collection of PC games, so went in to my local Argos store in order to look for it. I went to the catalogue, took a look in the index - and found nothing, or so I thought until I got home. As I had more time, decided to look in the Argos catalogue that we had at home. And on closer inspection, they actually had what I was looking for. The supposed main index in exactly the same catalogue that was in the shop was at the front of the book, I never thought of looking more towards the back. Therefore, only the basics were shown in the front of it - people just like me don't think to look elsewhere! So I took a note of the catalgue number; went back on in to town...
