The Argyll = Rangers Pub
Advantages: Will be Appreciated by Rangers fans!
Disadvantages: Won't be by everyone else!
...----Background of Visit----
The Argyll is situated under the Central Station Bridge on Argyle St. Glasgow. One Saturday evening heading in to town for a night out, me and a couple of friends got off the train and having had a few shandys on board we headed for the nearest pub to make use of the facilities, so to speak. That pub was The Argyle.
----Description of Visit----
I headed straight for the toilet which regrettably involved going down a flight of stairs and a long a corridor, not the best for me! When I got back upstairs I was handed a pint by my friend (we could only use the toilets if we were customers, you know the score) and I looked around. I was a touch taken aback by what I saw. We we're a mixed group, I am a Motherwell fan, one friend was a Rangers fan, and the other fan was rather unfortunately a Celtic supporter...

Argyle are the best
Advantages: Good team to watch
Disadvantages: Performances can be erratic
...I am a reasonably new Argyle fan. I've lived in Plymouth for the last 4 years and have gradually been going to more and more games. Now i think nothing of travelling from my new workplace (near Bristol) for 2 1/2 hours to watch an Argyle match.
I generally stand in the Devonport end, as i like the atmosphere there. I think it will be a shame when the new all-seating stadium is built, but that's the safety regs for you.
It is a shame that so many games have been postponed this year due to the weather - but hopefully the new stadium will iron out all those problems.
The highlights of this years games so far have been watching Argyle beat the Scum (Exeter) away 2-0, and also watching them beat Charlton in a pre-season friendly (as my Mum is a Charlton fan!!)
All i have to say is ... COME ON YOU GREENS......

Plymouth Argyle- Stadium Review
Advantages: Terraced stand gives the Stadium some originality
Disadvantages: Poor Parking facilities.
...When Everton drew Plymouth in the FA Cup, i knew i wanted to go, and i did- Here is my review on the stadium:
Club & Ground Name:
Plymouth Argyle, Home Park
How easy to find?
Signposted Plymouth Argyle FC, very hard not to miss it, was easy we found it.
8/10
Car Parking?
Nightmare, couldn't find any places anywhere at all bar one about 15 minutes away, and we got there 1 hour 15 minutes before kick off.

Aboslutely fine

Comfort
I was sat just above the exit sign to the left of the goal as you look at it so had a brick wall in front of me, still ample leg room between seat and wall.

...**** Argyll Hotel****
**Location/Getting there**
This hotel isn't dead central in Glasgow as you have to walk for quite a while down Sauchiehall street but it is a great budget hotel to stay in if you are planning to go to the SECC.They even have maps to help you get from the hotel to the SECC and it only takes about 15 minutes to walk it.
**Reception/staff**
The hotel isn't that glamourous or anything but the staff are always very helpful and friendly. You get the feeling that they like their job which is nice instead of having a scowling member of staff.
**Hotel/Room**
Pretty much every time i have stayed in this hotel i have had the same room. Its pretty standard as rooms go .It is always very clean and tidy,it has a kettle and some biscuits. The shower is okay. They always give us plenty of pillows .
**Other**

Those Little Green Men
Advantages: Good manager, good players, and good prospects
Disadvantages: Don't like the keeper, and I am an Exeter fan
.... With the short journey between clubs games are well attended, despite Plymouths current ground expansion. It is something special with often double the club’s average attendance turning up for theses games, it is certainly something to watch. Plymouth and Exedter have chants that consist of ‘stand up if you hate argyle/city’, ‘sit down if you hate argyle/city’ (Delete as appropriate). To get 3,000 people on the terracing simultaneously sitting down is quite a spectacle and if you are given the chance come down and watch, it is a real taste of what can happen down here.
Like I say the history of Plymouth is not one as star studded with honors or household names as some clubs are, but still they hold a decent record they could be proud of. Plymouth can claim to be the oldest team in Devon, their formation in 1886...

A Romance Blossoms in Oban
Advantages: Relaxation Combined with Fun & Adventure
Disadvantages: You Have to Come Home
...August 2001 I had been seeing Jan for 4 months and was slowly building a bond with her, Dan and Dale Jan's two boys with whom I was also developing a bond had been invited to their Grandma's in Scarborough, East Yorkshire for the week during the School Summer break, Jan and myself got out the map of the UK with the intention of having a holiday of our own. MMM where to choose, things to take into consideration: my car at the time was a G Reg Sierra, neither of us had ever driven within these countries before with the exception of England although we had visited them. We eventually decided on Scotland and the location was to be Oban. Saturday 12.00hrs we decided on the small idyllic fishing town called Oban.
Situated on the West Coast of Argyll providing an ideal location/base for visiting the Highlands and Lowlands of Bonnie...

Gateway to Argyll UPDATED
Advantages: Plenty to do
Disadvantages: midges
...comedy Brotherly Love.
It also has a spectacular Castle built in 1741 of blue stone it has four turrets and looks like it wouldn't be out of place in a fairy tale. The Castle the family home of the Clan Campbell is home to the Duke and Duchess of Argyll. It is open to the public from the first Saturday in April till the second Saturday in October and is well worth a visit.
There is a ramp for wheelchair access to the ground floor but unless it has changed the upper floors are off limits to the disabled. As children we were invited to parties and that was where I was first introduced to peanut butter sandwiches! Such a delicacy.
The town itself is unique as all the houses have to be painted black and white and the windows remain unchanged with small panes of glass, it makes the town look really attractive. Overlooking the town is...

The valley of ghosts
Advantages: A fabulous day out
Disadvantages: Midges from time to time
...I have to say, I don't know where Ciao got the picture above from, but it is pretty awful. Don't let that put you off, as you have to see this place to believe it. What if I was to tell you that within a six miles radius of the village of Kilmartin, there are 350 monuments, 150 of them prehistoric? You might wonder why you have never heard of it (unless of course you have heard of it!). To me, this should be a UNESCO World Heritage site. Instead, it is a little known spot, and the excellent Kilmartin House Museum (see below), nearly closed last year due to lack of funds.
~Where is it?~
****************
Kilmartin valley is in mid-Argyll, about 100 miles northwest of Glasgow and can only be accessed by road. If you don't have a car or don't wish to drive, you can get a bus from Glasgow to Lochgilphead, and then you can get...

Huge potential
Advantages: Superb defence
Disadvantages: A long way to travel away from home
...Phrases like 'sleeping giant' are often bandied about by football fans, maybe because they long for the times when former giants are restored to their former glories or simply because their team has a big undiscovered catchment area just waiting for a successful team to support.
I first started watching Argyle when I attended college back in 1975 in the promotion winning team that starred Paul Mariner and Rafferty. Since that time there haven't been too many causes for celebration but there is now considerable cause for optimism with the team sitting three points clear of their nearest rivals Luton at the top of Division Three.
The ground is looking really impressive now with the new stands and manager Paul Sturrock has built an excellent team which has only lost three out of twenty five games this season. The team have the best...

Fyne Steak and Views
Advantages: Wonderful views, meals perfected
Disadvantages: Secluded so can't have as much wine, not one in Manchester
...Loch Fyne Review
First Impressions
The Loch Fyne Oyster Bar is in Cairndow, Argyll. You can?t miss it on the road from Glasgow to Inverary. There is nowhere else to have a drink beforehand as this place is secluded and beautiful, boasting views across Loch Fyne from many of its windows. We had drunk in plenty of the Loch view over our holiday and chose to sit in a quite private booth with high sides and red leather seats.
This is the original Loch Fyne restaurant, since their success here, they have gone on to open 31 further restaurants around the UK:
WARNING ? The signs say ?Serving food all day?.
NOTE: All day ends at seven
On arrival were asked if we had booked in advance, when we answered negatively we were asked to take a seat. As we had arrived at half seven and the website says they take their last orders...
