...So A Farewell to Arms. I bought this DVD to further my research for ENglish Literature and paid bout 99p for it. It's your typical "Ooooh I love you darling" "Ooooh I love you too darling" Kind of story that dominated the golden era of Hollywood. It's nice enough in that manner. You're Grannie would enjoy it (that's who I offloaded my copy too after I watched it) As for the book/film interaction. The book is, as they generally are, better. The book is more anti-war whilst this DVD concentrates more on the romance. The book is also a bit more exciting. ...Just back from a weekend Jaunt to Ireland. We flew Ryanair Eastmidlands to Shannon, £38 return (No hold luggage and online checkin). We booked the Oakwood Arms at Shannon, this was mainly as our return flight was 09:30 Monday morning and we did not want to get up early to travel. We booked it thru LATEROOMS.COM for 85 Euros a night for Double room with Buffet Breakfast. Ireland seems to be pricey for Hotels, so this was not too bad (We do cheaper when we go Venice). We had hired a Car so after picking that up it was just a 10 min Drive into Shannon and the Hotel. First Impressions were very good, better than most of the reviews we had read. Its a low level building on the edge of Shannon, not that there's much in the middle of Shannon, just seems to be a Housing Estate. Checkin looks very smart and professional...

...Brothers in arms is an absolutely fantastic game to play on the Nintendo DS and unlike the game Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix the graphics are amazingly good. I am a big fan of war games such as Medal of Honour, Call of Duty and Brothers in arms. Brothers in arms was the first war/shooter game i had purchased for my Nintendo DS and i was definately damn well impressed. The deaths look real, the explosions sound cool and it's fun when you get to drive a car and a tank. Up's - superb graphics : the Nintendo DS in my opinion has notoriously bad graphics when playing certain games such as Harry Potter. The Holmfield Arms... best pub in Wakefield!

Advantages: Beautiful location, lots of car parking and friendly staff
Disadvantages: Can be quite chilly indoors during Summer.

...The Holmfield Arms is situated off DenbyDale Road in Thornes Park. It is a converted old country house set in a beautiful location. It has an adjoining premier in and lots of function space. Access and Parking The pub is signposted off the main road, and after a short drive up the main track leading from the main road to the pub there are 4 car parks to chose from. The car parks can get quite busy on a Sunday so its best to park at a lower one and walk up! Atmosphere and Staff Once inside the pub is very well decorated and thought out. There are 2 bar areas, one for over 18's and another for anyone. The dining areas are split into 3 so not everyone is squashed together. I always find it easy to find a table. The staff are always very friendly, I have not encountered any problems in the years I have been going there...
