Reviews of army knife
Review of the Victorinox Century Swiss Army Knife
Review of Victorinox - Swiss Army Knife by
freelancer1
Advantages: Sharp serrated blade, attractive design.
Disadvantages: None that spring to mind.
...I am a little bit sad. You see, I'm a pen knife anorak...
I have four of the things, and use them for camping trips, jobs around the house and those bizarre tasks that pop up from time to time (ever got a lump of chewing gum stuck to your shoe before a meeting?!?) In short - I KNOW about penknives.
Features of the Victorinox Swiss Army Century Swiss Army Knife
Serrated/Straight blade - this is pulled out from the cover by gripping a little groove on the back of the blade. It is made of stainless steel, so it won't rust, and it "locks" when it is in line with the handle. The blade is 4" long and has about 60% serrated edge and 40% straight edge. It is an incredibly sharp blade that cuts just about anything - string, rope...

For Those Who Need Gadgets
Review of Victorinox - Swiss Army Knife by
richardjmeek
Advantages: very useful
Disadvantages: have to watch where you take it
...Everyone has heard of the Swiss army knife and many of the readers may even have one or an imitation. The Victorinox Swiss Army Knife is by far the best quality version available with international awards for quality for both its models at UK Jewellery Awards.
The Swiss Army Knife basically is a multi-purpose knife containing various tools such as screwdrivers, tweezers, bottle openers corkscrews etc. The official Swiss Army Knife comes in 2 models either the traditional knife like model or the credit card version. I prefer the standard version myself as it is a lot more robust and the tools are bigger and more functional. The credit card version is ideal for carrying with you every day in your wallet except maybe in the pub or in nightclubs where it is not acceptable.
These knives are both very well made and very robust. Beware...

Knife to see you, to see you, knife....
Review of Victorinox - Swiss Army Knife by
colman
Advantages: Quality, sharp, well featured
Disadvantages: Mis-named range
...The Victorinox range of Swiss Army knives is impressive to say the least. When I went to buy one I was presented with a bewildering array of lethal implements withdifferent names such as the Hunter, the Waiter, the Sportsman, The Picknicker - and then I saw what I thought I would need - the CLIMBER. I do a lot of climbing in my spare time and there are occasions when you could really do with a decent kinfe to either clear some irritating vegetation or get your self out of a spot of bother (although i wouldn't recommend indiscriminately hacking at you ropes with ANY sort of knife...)
Imagine my surprise to discover that in fact CLEARLY the best knife for a climber is actually the PICKNICKER - it has a larger more useful blade, an attachment ring large enough to take a mini-karabiner and - most important of all - it can easily be opened...

Compact Kit For Soldiers
Review of Victorinox - Swiss Army Knife by
richard1952
Advantages: Huge range to choose from.
Disadvantages: Some you will need deep pockets for.
...I have owned Swiss Army Knives for more than thirty years and always own at least two I seem to have to buy replacements every year, this is not because I lose them nor is it that they wear out, it is just that someone always takes a fancy to mine and talks me into giving it away. This can be expensive as a genuine Victorinox knife starts at about £9 for the small single blade version and soon runs up to £50 for a good multi-tool knife and into the hundreds for a solid gold pocket knife.
The Multi-tool knives are what it is all about they come in so many configurations that it just is not possible to list them all, suffice it to say that there is one that will suit your needs. About the only tool I have never seen on a Swiss Army Knife is a razor but you could argue that the blade holds such a keen edge that you could shave with it...

Swiss Army Huntsman Knife - Not Just For Hunting!
Review of Swiss Army Huntsman Knife by
Haxrskilz
Advantages: Plenty of tools, small size.
Disadvantages: Pricing could be considered steep, tweezers and toothpicks easily lost.
...*Product*
Small, smart, safe - three words out of many that could be used to describe how useful the Swiss Army Huntsman Knife is. With a size being slightly smaller than an average male middle-finger, and yet still thinner than a thumbs width, it is no wonder that it is more commonly known as a the more popular 'Pocketknife' - a place where it is perfectly safe to hold, might I add.
As with most items, the size has no impact on the innards of the instrument, although it is definitely helpful that it can slide neatly in and out of the palm of your hand, but, have no qualms about it; the durable plastic outer-shell (usually in a firetruck red, but comes in a range of colours) a slight grip of the hand will keep it in place.
As with all Swiss Army Knives, this comes with strong stainless steel and some dangerously sharp edges (Warning: Do...

Swiss Army Knife - Don't camp without it
Review of Victorinox - Swiss Army Knife by
ozcr
Advantages: so many different varieties, for whatever purpose
Disadvantages: may need oiling if not kept properly
...The Victorinox Swiss Army Knife is an essential tool for anyone going on any sort of a camping trip or hike. These knives can be found anywhere in the world with a huge assormtment of functionalities. They can be as small as your pinky or as long as your middle finger and as fat as a hot dog bun. If you are really out in the woods or somewhere else in the middle of nowhere, a knife will always come in handy as might a saw and scissors and the whole lot of things that come on those knives. Some of them even have compasses (extremely useful tool). You can get addons to your knives as well. If you wear glasses you can get a special little screw device that screws into the cork puller-outer, which has such a small screwing nozzle that it is perfect for tightening your lenses. The hook is great for tightening those hard to tighten...

Never be without it
Review of Victorinox - Swiss Army Knife by
Zaphoid
Advantages: Limitless versatility
Disadvantages: Non that I can think of???
...I have owned and carried a Swiss Army knife for thirty-five years. My present knife, a SWISS CHAMP (the subject of this review) was given to me by my wife for my 50th birthday and never leaves my side. As an ambulance man for twenty years, I have lost count of the number of times I have used my knife in innumerable situations, to repair equipment that has broken, cut off clothing, cut oxygen tubing etc etc and off duty it’s uses have been countless.
HISTORY
The Swiss Army knife has been with us since 1884, some one hundred and twenty years. The firm who makes this famous knife re-named it in 1921 after the founder’s mother, Victoria Inox. The ubiquitous VICTORINOX has now become synonymous with quality utility knifes. The soldier’s knife was first delivered to the Swiss Army in 1891 and since that time has been the instrument of choice...

Swiss Army Champ Knife
Review of Swiss Army Champ Knife by
craigcoburn
Advantages: Generally an awesome piece of equipment
Disadvantages: Knife slightly too sharp :)
...My father bought me this as a present for my birthday. My immediate reaction was to do what i think most people do, flick out all the tools!
I was suprised when after 10 minutes i still hadn't managed to get everything out, as my small fingernails were no match for the fiddliness of it.
When i had taken everything out, i was in shock about how many tools there actually were. My mind was raking over what each tool would be used for.
I was in for a nasty shock when i was to put everything away, the large knife, which i didn't realise sprang shut when you pushed it, sliced the top of my finger. That kind of ruined the day as my mom was stressing about blood being poured on the carpet.
Five months later, all the tools have stayed sharp, not something you normally find with un-branded penknifes.
I think that every person should own...

A cut above the rest
Review of Victorinox - Swiss Army Knife by
ScottishWestie
Advantages: Stylish, durable, sharp, versatile, last a life time
Disadvantages: Nothing to lock the blades open
...As a young boy my father gave me his old pen knife for me to use, that may sound pretty irresponsible today in the 'knife culture' we live in, but one of the first things he taught me was how to use it responsibly & never to use it in anger.
I certainly used it, I fixed the steering in my wooden box cart with it, well it was steered by thick string, nothing too technical there!! I fixed my bicycle with it, used it when I went fishing, got myself out of many fixes when my shoelaces were completely knotted & guess who had the sharpest pencils in the classroom?
When I was older I purchased a Swiss Army knife & for about 20 years it was used on a regular basis until one day I forgot to remove it from my hand baggage at the airport & it was confiscated.
I bought a near identical replacement & take it with me everywhere, these knives...

I wish my wit was as sharp
Review of Victorinox Kitchen Knife Set by
COOOEEE
Advantages: The best set of knives I have owned
Disadvantages: No protective sleeves for the blades
...Why does Delia Smith use such good knives as Victorinox on her television series 'How to cook' and then sell completely different makes on her web site? Not only are the prices on her web site extortionate for knives at £110.00 for a set of three, Victorinox are readily available in the UK. Victorinox are the famous makers of the Swiss army knife and one of the best makes I know of.
Maybe I should explain that I used to be a cook for many years, until ill health forced me to give it up. I used to buy my knives singularly as the better quality knives used to be so expensive. All my old knives have rosewood handles and are still as new. There seems to be a Victorinox knife for every single occasion that you can think of. From Peeling, Paring, and Pastry to Boning, Filleting and Carving. The list is just endless.
Two Christmas’s ago I...
