Heart of Manchester - Arndale Centre.
Advantages: City Centre - range of Activities, easy access. Friendly place to meet.
Disadvantages: Often very crowded, quite small compared to The trafford centre. Food Court is also a bit small.
...as it gets very busy in freak downpours. And it being much smaller than the Trafford Centre, may cause a problem especially in wild weather, which Manchester loves to throw at you.
The shop choice is excellent, its modern, fun and exciting, the range of shops is unlimited and of course, there is also the Arndale Market. This increases your options for a great day out. My only reservations are...

Guide To Manchester Part 2 - The Arndale
Advantages: Lots of shops, eateries and it is all very new at the moment after the refurbishments
Disadvantages: Stil lhas tatty parts, and outclassed by the Trafford Centre
...In 1996, Manchester City Centre fell victim to terrorism. The IRA bombed the city centre and left a massive amount of damage. Fortunately no one was killed, and very few were even injured, but the Arndale shopping centre was left a wreck on one side, and the large Marks and Spencer store was destroyed.

Manchester's one stop shop!
Advantages: Everything is under one roof.
Disadvantages: Parking is expensive.
...The Arndale Centre is located in central Manchester, on Market Street. It is home to a number of shops, stalls and eating establishments. The centre was built during the 1970's, but it was redeveloped in 1996, after the IRA bomb went off in the city.
The beauty of this centre is that it features all the major retailers, including: New Look, River Island, Next, Accessorize, Monsoon...
