When in Aroma...
Advantages: seems like a good deal
Disadvantages: isn't
...Exactly how much do you have to eat in an ?all you can eat? restaurant before it actually becomes free? Before you?ve consumed enough to reduce the food to cost-price, and from there on in you?re effectively eating for nothing? To be honest, I don?t know. But it?s questions like these that mean that I?m never able to fully enjoy a visit to Aroma. Even when I?m starting to sweat sweet ?n? sour sauce in thick, orange gobbets, the voice is always at the back of my mind: Why stop eating now? You?ve paid for this already. You can eat FOREVER and it won?t cost you another penny! I don?t CARE if you?re about to throw up a fistful of lychees! EAT! EAT! EEEEAT!!
I?m sure you feel the same. It?s like going to a wedding with a free bar. It becomes physically impossible to stop drinking until you get into such a state that you punch the bride...

What's that lovely Aroma?
Advantages: A lot of choice
Disadvantages: Looks a bit like a school canteen
...We are lucky in this country to have a great thing called 'Bank Holidays'. So what do we all do on these days?
It seems the majority spend their day off work trudging around crowded, stuffy shopping centres.
And yes, you've guessed it this is what l did on May day holiday!!!
Along with my husband, daughter, sister and brother in law we all went off to Freeport in Braintree (a designer clothing outlet)
As predicted my hubby and brother-in-law went off to the pub. This left me waiting hours for Linda to finish shopping in about 2 shops (she is very slow) and Chloe getting increasingly bored and annoying.
This waitng was finally rewarded when it was suggested we go to Aroma. This is an all you can eat, self service Chinese buffet restaurant, just over the road from Freeport.
Walking in the first thing you see are the amount...

Harvester Restaurants
Advantages: Always one close by, quick turn out, children are welcome and catered for.
Disadvantages: Toilets can be quite disturbing, not all dishes taste as good they are described.
...Harvester Restaurants
Restaurant Reviewed: Stag and Hounds
Winchester Road
Basingstoke
Hampshire
(next to Comet and Home Base)
The Harvester chain of Restaurants have over 2000 outlets across the United Kingdom and owned and operated by Mitchells and Butlers, who claim to be the UK's leading operator of managed pubs, bars and restaurants. Harvester claim to offer healthy eating, drinking and entertainment in one reasonably priced outlet.
**** Parking and Getting a Table *****
As with most of the Harvester's I have visited, there is usually ample free parking at the rear of the establishment. However on Saturday evenings and Sunday lunch times these places are heaving with customers, so avoid the crowds, go early and if possible ring and reserve a table. The Stag and Hounds is no exception but fortunately...

Aroma my arse!
Advantages: FSC certified, cheapish, your butt may smell a little sweeter?
Disadvantages: STINKS, your butt may smell like an old lady!
...I went shopping last week with my other half, this is highly unusual, usually I go alone with my shopping list in hand and whip round the isles just buying the same products all the time. This time was slightly different, for a start it took twice as long because we were talking and considering different products on the way round.
Having my other half in tow can be likened to having a small child with you when shopping, he gets bored!
I sent him off to get a few products here and there that were on my list and one of them was toilet roll, I sent him to get a four pack of our usual toilet roll Asda shades. What he came back with was slightly different!
We (or should I say I) usually get the standard shades product in whatever colour comes to hand first.
My other half came back with a Shades pack but it was Shades Aroma. I had...

Aroma burst handwash
Advantages: Gets hands clean
Disadvantages: Fragrance too subtle, expensive
...I always keep a bottle of handwash in both my kitchen and my bathroom, and usually buy the boots essentials range, which costs 89p a bottle. Recently Boots had a buy one get one free offer on Radox products, and as their handwash cost £1.79, I figured it worked out about the same for a better known brand, and put two in my basket.
~Using it~
I've found that one pump of handwash is more than enough to get your hands clean, so it's best to only push the dispenser nozzle about halfway down, or you will get too much liquid. The product lathers up easily under warm water, and it left my hands feeling soft and clean. It doesn't have anti-bacterial properties which is a shame though. The handwash is PH balanced and dermatologically tested.
~Fragrance~
One of the fragrances from the many on offer was the 'aroma burst' handwash...

Ze Restaurant!
Advantages: Good show, interesting
Disadvantages: Slightly worse than last year`s
...The Restaurant is a TV programme shown on BBC 2 on Thursday nights! The show is a reality TV show and is similar to something like the Apprentice but a food version.
This show is obviously based on the concept and success of many other TV shows like the Apprentice, food shows like Masterchef and all the other shows like Dragon`s Den, X Factor e.t.c
The idea of the show is for world famous chef Raymond Blanc to find a couple to help him run a restaurant and the couples are gradually knocked out week by week until they have the winning couple. It is in its third season and seems to have got a bit worse. I still enjoy it but felt it used to be more exciting and interesting. There used to be two shows with one of them being a challenge but they seem to have got rid of this which is a shame!
Raymond has help from his two assistants e...

The Seafood Restaurant
Advantages: Great fish, sides
Disadvantages: None
...Rick Stein - The Seafood Restaurant
On a recent trip to Padstow, Cornwall we decided to go to Rick Steins famous fish restaurant, The Seafood Restaurant. Rick Stein is an English chef, restauranter and television presenter. He now specialises in fish cookery. He opened his first restaurant in Padstow in 1974 and now runs quite a few businesses in the town including a cake shop, cookery school and a fish and chip shop.
The Seafood Restaurant is his upper class restaurant in the town and is known for it's fabulous fish. It really is in the best location for fish. Padstow is a historic fishing port and so receives fresh fish every day. The restaurant is right at one end of town by the harbour and so is perfectly place to recieve all the best catches of the day.
It's quite hard to get a reservation in the restaurant. I think I booked...

My favourite Turkish restaurant on Green Lanes
Advantages: Great food, quick, friendly service, inexpensive
Disadvantages: Can be crowded and noisy on weekend nights
... INTRODUCTION
Diyarbakir is a Turkish Restaurant on Green Lanes (A10), in the borough of Haringey, North London, a 7-8 minute walk from Manor House Tube station and practically seconds away from Harringay Green Lanes rail entrance. Undoubtedly, the densest Turkish restaurant population in London, if not, the whole planet, including Istanbul itself. I moved to this area in 2005 and my decision was mainly down to the great value restauration and the Mediterranean (Turkish - Cypriot - Greek - Middles Eastern) groceries having grown up on the stuff.
THE RESTAURANT
You can spot the trays of lovely, colourful daily stews from the street as they are displayed in the window. As you enter, the long chilled counter is on your left with a huge menu board overhead. The decor is simple, now repainted a warm yellow and red. Unlike...

Claimed to be the oldest restaurant in Dalyan
Advantages: Gorgeous surroundings, loads of special dishes, the clay pot, waiters look the part
Disadvantages: Expensive wine and water, relatively small portion sizes, loads of manky cats
...Sini and instantly clocked my other half (she has got the best long, curly and fiery auburn hair ever, and it is something that Turkish blokes seem to really like as the male attention she got wherever we went was a bit too much for me (and I seldom become the green eyed monster), although I was offered 3 camels for her) and the banter started. It was time to sample Sini, so we booked a table (which the tout promised would be the best in the house) for eight that evening.
Why is this restaurant called Sini?
According to the tout, and the website;
?In a traditional Turkish family the people eat together on the floor. They sit at a sort of tablecloth and a large round serving tray with about three or four different kinds of dish. In Turkish this tray is called a "Sini". Around the restaurant you will see traditional...

Aromatherapy required
Advantages: Cheap, lots of choice, prompt staff, clean feel, quick.
Disadvantages: Less than average food, tables too close together
...I'd just like to mention that the opinions in here are quite strong, but I think they are justified with reason.
The first Aroma restaurant I went to was in Stevenage, and about 7 or 8 years ago. My impression at that visit was that the food was OK, and the price decent at £6.50 for lunch. That particular restaurant felt quite spacious, the variety of dishes plentiful, and the owner friendly (although our hosts for the visit was aquainted with her, so it doesn't count).
But. I am going to focus on my experiences at Aroma in the Luton restaurant.
I will split this into two parts, firstly the experience from entering to leaving; then a critique on the food.
-- Start to finish: --
The restaurant is located in The Galaxy centre, which is a dubbed Luton's premier leisure venue with its cinema and all that. Aroma...
