...amThis seems to have "been around" forever. I remember giving it to my eldest when he was a toddler (about 15 years ago), and the tradition continued from then. It's one of those things my mum swears by, and so the children have to have the stuff every winter- not that any of them ever seemed to need building up! However, I have veered slightly from the tradition, and forgot to buy it before the onset of winter; with the advent of her second (very unusual) cold since October, I decided it was time to ply her with the stuff again. The tonic is supposed to build up children fast, although whether this means in size or in general good health is not made clear. I assume that it means their general good health and immune system, because with the growing concern regarding child obesity, I don't think it would be a good idea to sell...

Review of Minadex Tonic

A Super Duper Tonic !

Advantages: Really effective, gets working even only after the first mouthful.
Disadvantages: Maybe a little too sweet on some tastebuds.

...This is a really effective tonic, especially for when you've been ill or feeling run down. When I take it it works within hours - I feel warmer, more alert and with so much more energy, it literally starts working from the first mouthful. It contains all the essential minerals to restore lost vitality - iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium. Only take it when you need to though, otherwise you body get too used to it and it gets less effective when you do really need it. At £5.99 for a small 300ml bottle, it doesn't come cheap - but is really effective and worth it for your health - plus you won't be drinking it anyway. However, I do find that it seems to work less effectively the longer the bottle has been opened, say, for more than 6 months. So, not really worth buying the larger 500ml bottle unless you're always ill...

Disadvantages: It's expensive and there's a lot of excess packaging.

The Tonic scent which predominates for me is geranium, which I've always found uplifting. I can also detect juniper and rosemary which is good for de-stressing. ...I bought this as a replacement skincare routine, after becoming increasingly frustrated with the 3 step programme from clinique. The tonic is the second step in the programme, being used after the cleanse and polish and before the moisturiser. The product retails at £11 for a 200ml so is quite pricey for a toner. However it is from a reputable brand with some great products so perhaps it's not too bad. Using it daily I have found it will last for just over two months. The product just needs to be applied to the face with a piece of cotton wool, by turning the top of the bottle a small bit pops up from which liquid comes when you squeeze the bottle. ...I always keep a bottle of handwash in both my kitchen and my bathroom, and usually buy the boots essentials range, which costs 89p a bottle. Recently Boots had a buy one get one free offer on Radox products, and as their handwash cost £1.79, I figured it worked out about the same for a better known brand, and put two in my basket. ~Using it~ I've found that one pump of handwash is more than enough to get your hands clean, so it's best to only push the dispenser nozzle about halfway down, or you will get too much liquid. The product lathers up easily under warm water, and it left my hands feeling soft and clean. It doesn't have anti-bacterial properties which is a shame though.
