Opium likes the artists
Review of Yves Saint Laurent Opium Eau De Parfum Spray by
jferens
Advantages: Long lasting charm
Disadvantages: none
...Opium. An addictive narcotic, one of the most powerful natural painkillers extracted from the unripe seeds of the opium poppy. Therefore, this perfume acts in the same way: is addictive, kills pain by creation of the enticing aroma aura. It resembles the orient mystery, aroma and ambiance.
I was born in a country not too much traditional with perfumes. I knew the aroma of flowers, trees, rain… Even though, at that time, I heard about Opium perfume. Opium was associated with something unique and not for me.
Later, when I had a chance to be exposed to the myriad of the bottles of perfumes, you can imagine how I felt. Mesmerizing, enchanted. That impression remains in me to this day.
Opium is a spicy, woody aroma that suits for special occasion and blooming at this time. If you are wearing it, daily it is nice...

Molton Brown Heavenly gingerlily
Review of Molton Brown Heavenly Gingerlily by
sueann
Advantages: wonderfully relaxing
Disadvantages: price a little to much for the average shopper
...I was very surprised when I first used this that it was not a chemically heavy aroma but a wonderful natural smell. I have found this to be so great at both cleaning your skin and making you feel wonderfully relaxed that it has become a neccessity in my bathroom.
The price tag for a 300ml is approx £15 but it lasts such a long time that I feel that I certainly get my moneysworth from it.
I love the aromas in the product which do not jump out at you but are a wonderful sensual aroma which lingers on your skin and makes you feel fabulous.
My skin felt a lot softer and after having used it for a short length of time my skin felt wonderfully soft and smooth as well.
I will ensure that this is always in my bathroom and would definitelt recommend it to everyone looking to feel wonderful or for that special night....

A spot of lunch in town
Review of Aroma (London) by
Kated26
Advantages: reasonable priced, somewhere to sit
Disadvantages: slightly unexciting range of sandwiches etc
...If you're looking for somewhere to have a sandwich and a coffee while shopping in town and most importantly, SIT DOWN, then Aroma is not a bad bet. Less frenetic than other sandwhich chains like Pret a Manger but with a similar but slightly less exciting range of sandwiches and and typr of coffee or tea you could wish Aroma seems to have expanded recently and now is visible almost anywhere in town.
Decorated in mediteranian style with bright clashing colours on the walls and the crockery its a fun place to take a rest from shopping. Some of the branches have more atmosphere than otherss but all are friendly. My only complaint - stop making the staff wear those awful turqoise shirts, no one likes them!...

No Caffine all taste
Review of Carte Noir Decaffinated by Kenco [TV Advertisement] by
hushpad
Advantages: All the taste-none of the caffeine
Disadvantages: A li ttle more expensive, but well worth it
...Having always love coffee and that beautiful aroma that it gives when freshly made I was really upset when I had to give up all products with caffeine and found in my opinion that others on the market that had had the caffeine removed either seemed to lack in aroma, smell or both. I actually stuck to decaf tea for a while till I happened upon Carte Noir decaffinated. Its classy green a black jar gives it a real smart look and from the first time I took off the lid that wonderful coffee aroma wafted up at me. The taste was no disappiontment either and suddenly coffee tasted every bit as good as it did before without the caffeine. Well done Kenco! Try even if you dont normally drink decaffinated I am sure you/ll be converted....

Delightful Evocative Aroma
Review of Myrrh (Commiphora myrrah) by
gailmill
Advantages: Lovely smell, lots of applications
Disadvantages: none
...Myrrh has one of the most delicious aromas around. Woody, dusty, aromatic, it reminds you of old buildings and ceremony. It has been used throughout history in ointments of all kinds and in rituals.
In modern terms the oil has a number of uses. It is astringent in nature and indicated for diarrhoea or discharge. Also, because of it's anti-inflamatory, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial actions it has been used for treating mouth and gum infections. It has expectorant qualities, therefore very useful for laryngitis, bronchitis or loss of voice. There has been some clinical research done on the oil which showed that the oil helped to lower cholesterol levels.
To make the most delightful and evocative aromas around the home, blend with patchoulli, sandalwood, juniper and lavender, or combinations of....

Remington aroma footspa
Review of Remington Aroma Footspas by
mazzelsha
Advantages: relaxation at one of its best
Disadvantages: only 2 settings
...This is incredible - my parents bought me this and I can't stop using it - it's quiet, soothing, my feet(which are breakable and painful - sorry!) love it and I relax at the same time with the aroma bit.
You get 4 different smellies to go in the spa, all of which are tempting (even more so for my puppy who loves soapy type smells!), the warmer the water is the more the aroma is distributed around yourself.
I was more than a little curious about the product as I had a friend who was a reflexologist who just managed to tickle me but I find this lovely.
The only complaint would be that there are only 2 settings. However, there are special nodules that hold you feet in place so that you get the optimum effect from the massage.
I really cannot rate this product high enough - your feet come out feeling very smooth and soft and smell lovely....

Glade Air Infusions Violet and Ylang Ylang
Review of Glade Air Infusions Violet and Ylang Ylang by
brockleyboy
Advantages: nice soft aroma
Disadvantages: none
...Glade Air Infusions Violet and Ylang Ylang caught my eye as I was looking along the shelf full of air fresheners in my local super market.
With its distinctive shape and bright colors it was hard to over look.
So I decided to give it a go and see how it did in my home.
When I got back I gave the room a spray and the most loverly aroma filled the room.
It was a delicate violate with the back ground aroma of the ylang ylang giving it a nice and relaxing feel to the room.
I had been worried that the violate would give the room the aroma of an aging aunts front parlor.
But this was not the case.
The aroma from the first spray lingered in the air for a long time and it was a pleasure to come into the room and smell it.
This is not an over powering air freshener and stays as a back ground fragrance un like some others who tend to hit you right...

Aphrodisiac Properties
Review of Jasmine by
gailmill
Advantages: Lovely aroma, sensual, many uses
Disadvantages: Quite expensive
...Jasmine has a lovely aroma, thought to be an aphrodisiac. It can be quite expensive to buy though because the plant only yeilds a tiny amount of oil.
Apart from being an aphrodisiac it is stimulating and uplifting of the emotions. Used as an anti depressant it is believed to perk one up - it can be used to ease lethargy :-) On the other hand it can be used, massaged across the abdomen to relieve the pains of menstrual cramps.
Often used in beauty preparations because of it's delightful aroma and invigorating properties, it is also a delightful oil to massage into the scalp to perfume the hair.
As a heady and sensual fragrance around the home, (or for the bedroom) blend with sandalwood or patchoulli and add a few drops to an oil burner....

Undress and De-Stress........
Review of Palmolive Aroma Therapy Shower Gel Anti-stress by
kath66-2008
Advantages: The smell is to die for!
Disadvantages: none
...I discovered this shower gel quite by accident, I have a cleaning business and was cleaning a flat for foreign students and every morning whilst cleaning their bathroom, there was a beautiful smell (pretty unusual for a student gaff, let me tell you) after some investigation into the products around the bath tub I discovered from where this intoxicating aroma permiated.
Not from some exotic or foreign land but from good old fashioned PALMOLIVE......
Palmolive Aroma Therapy Shower gel (Anti-Stress) Next shop day I found it in my local Tesco.
It contains pure essential oils of lavender, ylang ylang& and patchouti, obviously the mix of these essential oils creates an aroma I can only describe as heavenly!!!
When showering It creates a lovely lather and leaves your skin feeling beautifully soft, I also use it as a bubble bath...
