...Parking at airports is notoriously expensive. The toll for a short-stay at one of Heathrow's multi-storey car parks ticks over as quickly as the meter in a London cab. When flying from Stansted, it's not uncommon to find that the bill for the parking eventually exceeds the cost of the flight itself. Then there's Gatwick, which is generally no better. Happily, a number of hotels in the vicinity of London's second largest airport have capitalised on this parking problem, offering accommodation with one or two weeks parking thrown in, at a very reasonable additional cost. Which brings us to the Arora International? My husband and I stayed at this hotel in September of last year, prior to travelling from Gatwick on an early morning flight. Super hotel in the heart of Manchester

Advantages: Location, staff, nice rooms
Disadvantages: Expensive

...I have had the pleasure of staying here on business on several occasions. My mother?s family come from Manchester so I always really enjoy visiting Manchester. About the hotel: The Arora Manchester is a four star hotel with over 140 bedrooms. It?s part owned by Cliff Richard and there are even five special Cliff bedrooms decorated with his memorabilia if you like that kind of thing! The location on Princess Street is also excellent as you are in the city centre and only 10 minutes walk from Piccadilly station if you arrive by train. It?s also about a 20-minute journey from the airport, which is also very convenient. The hotel doesn?t have it?s own car park but apparently guests can use the nearby NCP to park at a discounted rate. ...We decided to check-in to the Arora hotel in Gatwick because we had a relatively early flight out of Gatwick for a short holiday and decided it would be a good opportuity to start the hoiday early and make use of the parking packages the hotel offfers. Following excellent reviews on Trip Advisor this seemed like the best value for a parking package and combined luxury night before our departure flight. The rooms are reliably 4 star atandard and exactly what you'd expect from hotels in this class. Priceline sent me here. Which was nice!

...I was looking for a weekend away; it's been a busy week at work, and it was the weekend before my birthday. A change of scene was needed, so I delved into the Priceline website searching for anywhere - and I mean anywhere - that would provide a change of scene. Quite what possessed me, after several failed searches, to select "London Airport Hotels - Gatwick", I don't know, but I did. Before you could say "Now I don't believe you wanted to do that", I found myself booked into the Arora International hotel, Gatwick airport. I suppose I'd gone for the Gatwick option, knowing that there are actually some really nice hotels in the area (Le Méridien, Hilton, a couple of Copthornes, to name a few), yet this hotel was a new one on me. Halcyon Days & Hummingbirds.

Advantages: A trip back in time.
Disadvantages: Maybe too quiet for some.

...the descent, winding and twisting, until visions of a calm blue Pacific sea came in sight. Eventually winding down to the small town of Cannon Beach. One little street of single story timber shops and houses, then across the sand dunes to the beach. A natural beach with sea anemonies, star fish, crabs, sea shells and the many sea birds. The biggest monolith in the world, Cannon Rock, was displaying itself just off the shoreline, along with several other large rocks. surely a day to remember! Seaside and Florence were two other small sea town that I recommend to visit. both with individual charactors of their own. Inland once again, I remember with affection the town of Arora. This Colonial town, left as it had been a century ago, every house and home turned into an antique shop, apart from three small cafe's and a teddy bear shop...
