ATS - Exhaustingly Good
Advantages: Fast Service, Courteous Service
Disadvantages: Garages will differ around the UK
...**Please note the following ATS-Euromaster review is based around the service and products received from the ATS Garage in Newbury, Berkshire.**
*Personal Background*
Earlier on this week I noticed my exhaust was producing a rather unique sounding boy racer noise, complete with a slight rattling of my exhaust box, so decided immediate action was required as I was due in Cardiff the following day. I decided to take my Citroen Saxo (51 reg.) to the local Kick Fit dealers as they had always provided a reputable service in the past, however after an initial free inspection they advised me that I required 3 new parts for my exhaust, an Intermediate Pipe, an Intermediate Silencer Box and a Rear Silencer Box.
However after consulting their catalogue of parts I was told the intermediate parts I needed were not obtainable from their...

THE BLACK ARROW: A TALE OF TUNSTALL FOREST
Advantages: You may gain insight into a turbulent time in English History - the War of the Roses (white and red)
Disadvantages: It is not always easy to unravel who is on which side at which time; sentences can be long and complicated.
...I have always delighted in some authors' ability to take a period in history and illuminate it, just a bit, for the poor unsuspecting reader intent on a quick action thriller to while away an hour or two at a time.
Robert Lewis Stevenson, like Charles Dickens, initially wrote many of his stories for weekly consumption as a serial (money was the driving force behind such). Perhaps the modern day equivalent would be weekly episodes of television programmes ~ but the book (or the weekly magazine) has the advantage of being subject to the reader, to be read at his leisure, at a time of the reader's own choosing ~ and not pushed at you by a producer's prime-time scheduling ~ competing with dinner, homework and family time.
When serialised for "Young Folks" magazine in 17 weekly instalments in 1883, the title was "The Black Arrow...

Poison arrows...an "angelic" read!
Advantages: Gives a new perspective on heaven!
Disadvantages: Had to end.
...A while ago my younger sister had a book clearout, knowing my love of reading she ?donated? them to my ongoing book club that I run through my workplace, hence the review.
The book I will now review is - ?Poison Arrows by Morag Prunty?
This is a shock book to me. I only picked this book up to read as it was on the top of the pile and my daughter was asleep and I didn?t want to disturb her?.. Not really a reason is it! But by god (excuse the pun), I?m glad I did!
I will try to do a general overview, there is rather a varied storyline happening so bear with me!
Christian is a cupid, this means he is a messenger of God and aids in the ?pairing? of suitable couples on earth, he is by design also gay, something that makes for some great lines from fellow cupids further on in the book, especially from a cupid called Mayday who has...

Honda CRX
Advantages: The whole car
Disadvantages: None
...Just to clear a few things up from previous review.
MK II Honda CRX is NOT a boy racer car at all. The majority of UK owned MK II's are owned by enthusiasts from the owners club and are taken complete care of regardless of cost . I spent £500 on mine just last month, no not on neon lights and a body kit. New clutch, new discs and calipers, new exhaust (Standard), CV boots and Tax. I fitted all the parts myself as Honda's labour charges are ridiculous and I don't trust anybody else
It's an excellent car though. Once you drive one you will never feel 100% driving any other car there's no experience like it. It feels like you are sat on the floor , everything is angled towards the driver. Being the first honda with independant dual wishbone point to point suspension it handles like a go-kart and was the inspiration for the entire...

HONDA JAZZ 1.4 SE CVT-7. AUTOMATICALLY BETTER?
Advantages: Great Transmission. Smooth Engine. Low Running Costs. Hugely Spacious Interior. Build Quality.
Disadvantages: Messy Dashboard Styling. Uninspiring Exterior Styling.
...range of body styles and engine options.
Having said that, the little Honda Jazz has one terrific ace up its' exhaust pipe - it consistently heads all of the customer satisfaction surveys, primarily the well respected J.D. Power one, which concentrates on reliability and owner satisfaction. This is no mean feat and an achievement of which Honda are justifiably proud.
WHICH SPECIFIC MODEL?
I have driven all three models of Jazz, the basic 1.2, the manual 1.4 and the car that I am reviewing here the 1.4 SE CVT-7. I have chosen to review, this the most expensive, top of the range Jazz, as I spent a day behind the wheel of one only last week.
The most interesting thing about this specific model is its automatic transmission. As any of you who have read my car reviews in the past will know, I have driven just about everything...

Arrows: Light at the end of the Tunnel
Advantages: Reasonably good driver pairings.Increased funding
Disadvantages: Still not the richest team around.
...The British-based Arrows team have had a lengthy period in the doldrums since they were a poorly funded team and despite producing attractive race cars they were not deemed competitive. They were regularly expected to be among the back markers with the likes of the Minardi team.Even getting a point would be considered an achievement.
It is now beginning to look as though there is light at the end of the tunnel for the hugely popular Oxfordshire-based outfit. Funding has been secured from several sources and recently the Arrows got a very good fifth place at the Canadian grand prix. Jos Verstappen driving a very good race to collect two valuable points. Their other driver Pedro De La Rosa looks to have a good future and these two drivers as a pair are good enough to win more points, providing the team can increase their reliability...

Honda Civic
Advantages: Fuel economy, performance, accommodation, dealer friendliness.
Disadvantages: Minor niggles, servicing cost can be high, rattles.
...We bought our Honda Civic 1.5i VTEC-E in 1997 when it was 7 months old, but just had delivery mileage. Our local Perth dealer (Weir Honda) were offering what was a nearly new car with around £1500 off the new price. We knew from looking at comparative prices that this was a good deal and managed to get mudflaps and carpet mats fitted as well.
Broadly the experience has been very good - the dealer has been helpful in sorting out several minor problems. These were rattle in top end of the engine (a minor adjustment), a missing jacking point on the rear nearside, a silencer which gave out after 2 years' use, squeaky ventilation fan and a stuck sunroof (x2). None of these prevented the car from running and all were fixed free of charge. In the case of the silncer they really did not have to do this but decided to offer a replacement ex...

Minories Honda Dealer Gateshead Nr Metrocentre
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Shark car dealers
...of spending weekends trailing around garages looking for the right motor only to find it was already sold or had body damage etc. This happy mood did not last long after I had my first dealing with Minories Honda dealer in Gateshead next to the Metrocentre.
Sitting in the corner covered in muck was a Breeze blue Corsa. The state of the car did not bother me, as I knew it would clean up nice because after all it was only 6-7 months old. I was asked if the salesman could help me, and off we went. First off all I wanted to know the price of the vehicle and off we went to talk about the car.
At this start I was only interested in three questions until my wife saw the car.
Mileage?
Was the Vauxhall warranty and breakdown cover still valid for the remained of the three years?
And the most important the price?
I had previously been into...

Unbeatable hot hatch fun from honda
Advantages: Subtle styling, superb performance, reliability
Disadvantages: Can be rather thirsty, Insurance
...As a 21 year-old guy, understandably insurance was always going to be a deal-breaker when buying a civic type-R. But having sorted finances, I went ahead and decided to go for it.
After turning 21, I thought of getting a nippier car. since passing my test I have driven a peugeot 106 diesel, and felt I had enough 'road confidence to go ahead and jump in at the deep end with a more powerful car.
To the point then, I first researched prices on autotrader and the honda used car website. Unsurprisingly, these cars hold their value extremely well, being not only reliable, but desirable to boot. These two attributes are not easy to find in most performance cars. Insurance quotes went from bad to worse, ranging from £2000 to £5500 one year fully comp. Having been a named driver, no claims bonus is recommended!
I bought mine with 50000...

Ebley tyres and exhaust
Advantages: cheap and great service
Disadvantages: none
...Having had the exhaust on the car go and tying it up with string as you do, we had to go and get a new one.
We telephoned around and you would not believe the difference in price. We were limited as to how far we could drive with it tied up so could not go to a large town and had to make do with Cirencester and a choice of three places.
At Kwik fit we were quoted at "just over £100" and at ATS they said it will be £110 plus £15 if the manifold bolts and springs are hard to get off - now you can buy these in places like Halfords for £6.00.
Then we telephoned the cheapest which was Ebley. They said £75.00.
On arrival there we found that they had to send for it from their other branch and this would take an hour. But, if we wanted to have a look around the town they would drive us there and pick us up. Now that is service.
