Honda CBR600

Advantages: Looks very modern and sporty
Disadvantages: high pegs at the back can cause pain in your legs

...for Vincent) went down to the local Motorcycle shop, which he did used to work for many years ago, before it got taken over and made some enquiries. Everyone never wants to take a step back they always want to go forward. Obviously another 350cc would not please Vinnie he has to go one step further. He asked Tony who is part owner of the shop about the new Honda CBR600F. Like all salesmen and women it is their job to sell a product and my dad was well and truly convinced about the bike. Now convinced it was the right bike for him it was now onto the second phase. Bare in mind this was all spur of the moment and he was just looking for a new bike possibly to invest in sometime in the near future, he asked what type of part exchange deal he could get. His old bike was now 10 years so it was not the most valuable item he owned. Tony is...

CBR600 - old faithful

Advantages: well built, reliable, practical and comfortable.
Disadvantages: A bit bland

...In 1987 Honda introduced the CBR600, which is one of the longest running motorcycle models. Most bikes are redesigned and given a new model name, the CBR has had three major revisions and kept it name. This is probably because the CBR was the top selling motorcycle in most years since its introduction and although the latest looks vastly different from the first it is still, at heart, a CBR - which is a bike that is well built, reliable, practical, comfortable and at the same time one of the best sports bikes in its capacity. I have had a CBR600FP for two years. I bought it with 24,000 miles on the clock, to replace an earlier model, a CBR600FJ. I use the bike as my main transport so I wanted a bike that would rack up the miles while being reliable, comfortable but still able to chase sports bikes when the mood takes me...

Honda VF 1000 R 1985.

Advantages: Build quality, torque, 5th gear performance, high speed crusing.
Disadvantages: VF reputation for chocolate cams.

...Firstly, I must apologize to all owners of the Honda CBR 1000 F , because this review is not about this bike. This site ' CIAO' does not list all the different model ranges of bikes you may be looking for. This problem is ongoing, and I personally have'nt sussed out how to change this yet ??!!!. So unfortunately will have to ride yet another review on the back of another product, this is the closest I can get . Firstly a brief history of the VF range, 1980's, as far as I can remember, there were 3 models of this very under estimated bike. VF500, VF 750, & VF 1000. The VF 500 was a superb machine, an all rounder, no problems, The VF 1000, the same, But the VF 750 due to some design flaw , used to destroy its self by way of the camshafts and followers, major engine damage resulted, on a regular basis , and this led to a BAD...

CBR1100 Blackbird 2001 injection

Advantages: Fast, comfortable super bike
Disadvantages: poor screen

...Honda Blackbird ? CBR1100 ? 2001 injection model. There has been a lot written in the motorcycle press about this bike, but I do wonder how ?real? some magazine reports really are. It seems many magazines are happy to produce a report on a bike after running it round the block, or doing a couple of laps of a race track somewhere. It has to be said that I have read more than one article about the Blackbird where it seemed that they had not actually ridden it all. When it comes to getting an honest opinion of a bikes capabilities, performance and general reliability, you would be best speaking to someone who owns and rides the model of bike you are considering buying. Hopefully this is where I come in! Last year (October 2001) I purchased a brand new Honda Blackbird (red) from an official UK Honda dealer. In the past 12 months I...

Why is the CBR600 the best selling bike ever?

Advantages: Comfort, Reliability, Durability
Disadvantages: Gearbox, Camchain tensioners

...Introduction My second bike ever, was a second hand 2 year old Honda CBR600F with 6k on the clock. It's the 2002 fuel injected version. My first bike was a Suzuki SV650S which I got after passing my Direct Access in 2002. The Honda was something of a step up from the SV, which was starting to limit my learning on account of its budget suspension. I fancied something a little bit sharper to challenge me a bit more. I looked around at the sports 600s and even considered a 900 for a while then dismissed it - then I realised; a couple of years on a 600 would be a good learning exercise for me. The two bikes I considered were a Kawasaki ZX6r and the Honda CBR600F. The reliability issues with carb icing on the Kwak led me to buy the Honda. £4300 later I was the proud owner of a brand-ish new CBR600F in navy blue /silver. Engine I had...

CBR600 - Simply the Best

Advantages: handling, performance, and comfort
Disadvantages: parts expensive, dropping in value fast

...If you want a motorcycle that can be comfortable to tour on, yet can also be ridden like a racer, then look no further. My CBR600 out handles any other machine that I?ve ridden, from the ZX6-r's to the GSX-r's in the same class. Nothing wants to corner like the CBR, and A superb engine delivers plenty of low down torque that is consistant all the way to its 13500 rpm redline. The handlebars are not as low as on out and out racers, so there is less wrist strain at low speeds, and the seat is more of a luxury item than your standard plank of wood with a slight covering of cloth! Bridgestone BT56 Tyres on the front and a BT57 on the rear - or even the new OWO1's would defiantly be the combination to go for....

'03 CBR1100xx-Oh what a motorcycle!

Advantages: POWER, handling, smoothness, stability
Disadvantages: Some may need time to adapt to riding position

...all out, the XX comes with a great tach, digital speedo, fuel gauge, temp gauge and some decent under seat storage that also have clips to lock 2 helmets to the bike. The fuel injection is also great. This bike starts up like a car and is warmed up a minute or so later. In sum, there's really very little not to like with the XX. If anything it may be too fast for some and could lend to a lot of speeding tickets if you're not careful (get a radar detector). But if you like speed, smoothness, handling, decent comfort, and Honda reliability....you will have a stupid grin on your face (and probably some drool) after riding a CBR1100xx. I hope this info helped anyone considering this bike....

Fantastic little bike. Save petrol on commuting.

Advantages: Reliable and cheap to run. Looks good.
Disadvantages: Top speed only 70mph. Bike is thin and people dont always see you.

...The Honda CBR125 range of motorbikes were first released back in 2004. Minor changes have occured over the few years with the most significant being the addition of fuel injection in the 2007 models. I first bought one of these from a local garage just before I passed my CBT (Compulsary Basic Training). You only need the CBT (if you have a car license) do drive one of these on the road. The CBT lasts for 2 years and you must have L-Plates on display. I had driven a few bikes on my CBT including a small Kawasaki and a few Honda CG125's. I never liked any of these. They felt heavy, difficult and the brakes were none-existant. So what a shock when I picked up my CBR125R (2004 model)! This is much, much better! Firstly, you may have noticed that this bike is small. Very small. I fit on in perfect, but many people would not. It is...

ATS - Exhaustingly Good

Advantages: Fast Service, Courteous Service
Disadvantages: Garages will differ around the UK

...**Please note the following ATS-Euromaster review is based around the service and products received from the ATS Garage in Newbury, Berkshire.** *Personal Background* Earlier on this week I noticed my exhaust was producing a rather unique sounding boy racer noise, complete with a slight rattling of my exhaust box, so decided immediate action was required as I was due in Cardiff the following day. I decided to take my Citroen Saxo (51 reg.) to the local Kick Fit dealers as they had always provided a reputable service in the past, however after an initial free inspection they advised me that I required 3 new parts for my exhaust, an Intermediate Pipe, an Intermediate Silencer Box and a Rear Silencer Box. However after consulting their catalogue of parts I was told the intermediate parts I needed were not obtainable from their...
