...General I spent a long time looking around for my MP3 player. Both friends and family had all went for Apple iPods and the pressure was on so to speak. No question the iPod looks, well used to look sexy, and it had the backing of one of the worlds leading technology companies, but no matter what way I looked at it as an option it just not tickle me. I was on holiday in Crete last September (2006) and we flew through Gatwick, with a bit of time to kill I smoozed around a leading tech chain store and saw my first Creative ZEN Vision:M, and I was won over with the beauty, symmetry, and in general sheer simple sexiness of the Zen. Creative EP-630

Advantages: Simply Excellent

...Creative EP-630 I have recently tried creative EP-630 and it cost a quarter of a similar pair of Bose phones that I'd normally go for. Ordering from their website couldn't be easier and the site is locked for security of payments. The ear pads are rubber and far more comfortable to the ears. The design is by far more ergonomically and causes less stress to the ears. The sound is by far the real selling point however and is a stunning and enhanced listening pleasure. The volume on my MP3 is extraordinarily loud but the quality does not fall away and wobble/ scratchiness are simply not there, even at full volume. The bass tones are very deep and you made need to lighten them up with a little more treble. The sound in general is very crisp. The cord is very long which is a bonus as I run on road and on the treadmill...

Creative zen

Advantages: reasonable price, looks good, dinky, good battery life, good sound quality.

...i bought this product in may 2008 for about £80 very reasonable for a new 8gb player considering the ipod of that size and generation cost £120-150. I choose it because i had a muvo and loved the quality but out grew it and after battleing with numerous unbranded models i was sick and tired of rubbish. I am a stong hater of popular branded stuff such as the ipod as people i know have had ipods stolen and broken after a year or so (just after the garentee runs out i think) so i didn't look at the ipods and as me and my brother had both had amazing creative mp3 players with no problems (his zen touch has been running for 4 years and still going strong) i decided to look for a new creative player the mozaic in my opinion was the same thing with an ugly casing and the x-fi was a bit expensive so at the size i needed the zen was ideal...

...I bought my Creative Live Notebook Cam on Amazon for a very reasonable £15.26 and with the super saver option I had no postage and packing to pay. I didn?t need a big fancy looking cam with all the super duper mods and cons, I just wanted a cam to be a cam. I had toyed with several other models, but after much deliberation came down on the side of this. One of the main reasons apart from the fact that it looks pretty good, was the manufacturer. I have had a few other Creative items and have never had any problems with either installation or use. There were a couple of Microsoft one?s I fancied but as per usual they priced themselves out of my market. The Art of Death

Advantages: Good second half, some interesting details
Disadvantages: Clunky plot, a bit meandering

...halfway through it was much better. The main character is Adelia - "The Mistress of the Art of Death" - i.e a forensic pathologist. Her struggle to conceal her profession is quite prominent in the plot as female doctors were unusual in the twelfth century. She is helping Simon of Naples discover the killer through the clues left on the bodies of the victims. I found this quite interesting although I'm not sure how realistic it would be in the twelfth century. The plot does wander a bit as it is so concerned with Adelia and her origins and training. The character of Rowley (the King's so-called tax inspector) is ok but the romance seems to have been thrown in as a bit of an afterthought and didn't add anything to the story for me.
