Cheap Southern Caribbean hotel
Review of Howard Johnson Curacao Plaza Hotel & Casino, Willemstad by
roseycheeks
Advantages: central location
Disadvantages: staff not very helpful
...Last year Aug06, we decided to go to the ABC Caribbean islands, 1st of all we went to A island (Aruba) then the second island is C island (Curacao, it’s Southern Caribbean island). And we were on a very tiny budget, so we had to look for a cheap hotel, so we've looking at expedia.co.uk. And we found this hotel which is very central. It’s about GBP36 per night per room because we had a special deal, we stayed there for 4 nights but the 4th night is free, but breakfast is not included.
The 2 stars hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport (Hato Airport) and we hired a car from Avis it’s about GBP70 for 4 days and picked it up from the airport, which was very useful for the holiday (we can drive around to anywhere). It was very difficult to find the hotel car park, because there were no signs or directions. At the end we had to go...

Paradise Caribbean island!
Review of General: Aruba by
roseycheeks
Advantages: great food, friendly people, wonderful crystal clear water!
Disadvantages: no direct flight
...I'm working for an airline and I've won a pair of tickets (had to pay for the taxes though) over x’mas prize draw the year before last. And we didn’t know where we should go. But I’ve always fancied going to the Caribbean. Then my Manager recommended Aruba to us. So I started planning and doing all the research last year May06 for the trip! And we decided to go for about 1 week during end of August. Flight time is about 1.20hrs from London to Amsterdam and 9hrs from Amsterdam to Aruba.
First of all, I searched through Google to look for the official tourism website for Aruba which is www.aruba.com. The site is really great it tells you all the things that you can do while you are there and also tells you where you can stay depending on you budget. The categories are for the hotels are:
1. High Rise Hotel is like luxury resorts...

Aruba great place to tan!
Review of General: Aruba by
KittyV
Advantages: Hot Hot Hot white beach, palm trees, crystal clear water.
Disadvantages: Americans every where, little culture V. Expensive
...I have just returned from a long weekend in Aruba (decadent I know but I work in the travel industry).
Just twenty miles off the coast of South America and far from the Hurricane Belt this island is hot (28c) all year round. Known as the Dutch Antilles locals speak Dutch, Spanish and American. Currency is Arubian Florins but every one used US dollars.
After a 9 hour flight we arrived on the Friday evening to a welcoming smile from the ground staff in the air conditioned airport.
Outside we quickly negotiated a taxi to our Hotel 'The Windmill Resort' Palm Beach (all taxis are a fixed cost of $20 US). Our taxi driver took us through the capital 'Oranjestad' and pointed out some popular bars and a few basic things about the island. Most importantly every where accepts US Dollars most of the Casinos are open until 5am and there are 2...

Everything you would expect from a 4 star hotel
Review of Mediterranean Beach Hotel, Limassol by
Mgeo1000
Advantages: Location, facilities, standards
Disadvantages: Not really suitable for families
...Excellent location right on the beach, good facilities and used for business conferences too. Food is good although can be repetitive, I would suggest bed and breakfast, they offer an excellent choice for breakfast. Very relaxed friendly service, although I do feel at times this was slow, one member of staff didnt speak very good English I wouldnt have minded but they were not local either, think they need to look at this in a 4 star hotel. The rooms are of a good standard and very clean, towels etc changed daily. There is internet access from your room if you want it or you can use the hotels payable pcs for interenet. I would say for standards and location and also luxury I would rate this a 4 star plus. The hotel is located amongst 5 star hotels with a number of restaurants, bars and tourist shops nearby, there is also a bus stop...

Albufeira (Portugal) 4 Star Self Catering Hotel
Review of Brisa Sol Hotel Apartmento, Albufeira by
martinwi
Advantages: Near all amenities. Good central Location.
Disadvantages: You cannot book the sun (pity)
...it. On the north side are a few shops, houses and buildings. On the south (beach) side are many of the hotels, shops, and restaurants.
Brisa Sol Hotel:
This is a 4 star self catering Hotel. There are about 6 levels with rooms on most levels and 2 medium sized lifts.
The hotel is within a 15 min walk to either the old town or the new town.
The rough cost in the medium season will be about £400 for 7 days and you could experience the following:-
Reception:
This is open 24 hours a day with English speaking staff. A bowl of nice boiled sweets is always on top! They sell tickets to hotel functions, act as a bureau de change and also sell tickets to assorted trips. Check their prices to the tour operators, as the hotel is usually cheaper.
Rooms:
All rooms are on-suite with a toilet and bath/shower. All have settee's and a TV...

Bon Vini Aruba!
Review of General: Aruba by
mreservado
Advantages: Lovely beaches! Grat waves for surfers!
Disadvantages: Can't think of any.
...Bon vini Aruba (in their local language called "papiamento" means "welcome to Aruba") is what your passport will say if you come to this friendly island, or as they call it, and you'll also be able to read in that funny stamp with palms, "one happy island".
Happy indeed. The island is a paradise for families or lovers. It is also a well-known resort from windsurfers, so the youth that enjoy this kind of water activities will find their place in here too.
the nightlife is kind of poor, but it depends on the hotel where you're staying, some of them organize plays, games, bingos, dances, competition, and all the typical variety that beach resorts offers. if not a visit to the city will impress you in a nice way, full of lights, music everywhere, and all in a healthy and safe environment.
All the main hotels are situated...

All stars, no service!
Review of Disney All Star Hotel, Orlando by
MHam
Advantages: Staying on the Disney estate
Disadvantages: Pricey and Crouded
...fed 4 adults but my kids had a great time eating 1 slice and then picking all the topping off. You’ve never seen such a mess, but I did clean it up, not wanting to rely on the cleaners!
As with all hotels in the area, you have to have a swimming pool. Being the All star music, they had two, one in the shape of a piano and there are life guards available until late at night. This was actually really nice, because of the nature of Florida, during the day the hotels are usually pretty quiet, so we did spend a lovely afternoon by the pool.
They also have all the other things available to encourage you to spend money, games rooms, shops and other small stalls periodically popping around the area. They do have a launderette which I always vowed I would never use, because you don’t go on holiday to wash clothes, but having kids sort...

A 4 stars going onto 3!!!!
Review of Sissy Bay Hotel by
Tish29
Advantages: Nice hotel
Disadvantages: Food and drinks
...A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I were looking for a good last minute holiday deal. We were proposed a week stay all-inclusive at the Sissi Bay hotel in Sissi in Crete at a good price (for the season!) and decided to go for it. We were very excited about the all inclusive deal as we’ve never be on one and we could imagine ourselves drinking and eating all day under the sunshine!!!
The Hotel:
The Sissi Bay hotel is meant to be a 4 stars hotel (as you will read later to my opinion the hotel was more a 3 stars than a 4!). It has 90 bedrooms, 2 pools with sunloungers, a restaurant and a pool bar. The all-inclusive package includes breakfast buffet (07.00 – 10.00), snacks all day by the pool, lunch (12.30 – 14.30), afternoon tea (15.30 – 17.00), dinner (18.00 – 21.00) and drinks (draught soft drinks, draught beer, local spirit...
