...My room is currently a bit of a mess. Clothes (clean) all over the place, few mugs with tea dregs in the bottom, half used tubs of Vaseline everywhere, a suitcase (empty) lying open in the middle of the floor and a guitar or two kicking about at the sides. Right next to the rather large pile of various coloured nail polish bottles (an art project I'm working on) lies a pile of DVDs I have come to known as Procrastination Heaven. Having exhausted every other way I could think possible to escape actually having to tidy (yep, EVERY way) I glanced at the pile. On the top was a film I've been trying to avoid just as much as the cleaning. After a few short moments (that felt like a lifetime of deciding) I finally convinced myself that I would just have to do it. The movie I mean. ...I am Legend was the 2007; sci- fi horror adapted from the 1954 Francis Lawrence, and a remake of the classic The Omega Man. The film starred Will Smith, in what was to be his first horror film. Opening in late 2007, the film grossed well over $500 million worldwide. Having heard mixed reactions to the film I figured I had to watch it for myself to see what all the fuss was about, having not see the Omega Man, I am Legend was a totally new film for me, I didn't no what to expect and didn't no the general backdrop of the film. I Am Legend - Wasn't legendary for me!!!

Advantages: Some good moments of suspense. Good scene setting.
Disadvantages: Lost it's story to some daft horror scenes.

I enjoy watching end of the world type scenario's like The Day After Tomorrow or Independence Day - big action films, when humanity pulls together to save the world. Advantages: Good set design, good acting. Story line had potential to be good.
Disadvantages: The way the film is filmed is too similar to alot of other films, why make this film???

Alicia Keys - As She Is.

Advantages: Range of sounds, fantastic lyrics and vocal talents.
Disadvantages: N/A

I am Legend

Advantages: great film
Disadvantages: great build up, but solved in no tme at all

...I saw this film at the cinema starring Will Smith and it was great. I am Legend, the film is about a break out virus that engulfs America. Robert Neville played by Will Smith is the last man uninfected left trying to find the cure to save the world before its too late. A good story line but the ending lets the film down. The build up and ideas of isolation are well put over, but 1 hour and 30 mins build up for a 4 min solution. I was blown away by this film from the start. Will Smith does a fantastic job of single handedly holding an entire performance together and displaying the emotional changes of a man pushed to his very limits, in a way that is both realistic and captivating. The only downside to the film may come in the final parts where the plot gets caught up a bit and the pace and message of the film seems to change...

I Am Legend

Advantages: An excellent storyline
Disadvantages: Mutants occasionally seem a little too much like CGI

...survivor in the city, which has been changed from the Los Angeles of the novel to New York City. Neville's only companion is his dog, Sam, who is also immune, or at least is immune from the airborne strand of the virus. Neville has to make sure that Sam doesn't get infected by body fluids, such as blood, otherwise the dog will also mutate. I found the film to be highly enjoyable. Will Smith is an interesting actor as he seems perfectly at home both in humorous roles (although THE WILD, WILD WEST was very poor!) and in serious roles - and this is definitely a serious role. It was originally earmarked for Arnold Schwarzenegger as good many years ago, but I am thankful that that version fell through as, much as I like some Arnie movies, I don't think that he would have had the same impact as Smith - it would probably have turned into one...

...I am Legend...a great book...a GREAT film!! I am legend is based upon the book by Richard Matheson, I am Legend. There has also been two other films based on the book, The last man on earth and The omega man. PLOT: A deadly virus has spread through out new york. Intending to be a cure for cancer, those vaccinated with this 'cure' have the virus and turn into a vampire like creature, losing all rational thought and eat on other humans.
