Asda

Advantages: Price
Disadvantages: Customer service

...sda is one of those supermarkets which has a really bad reputation, in the past this has been justified, but asda is currently going through something of a re-invention of late. In 1999, Asda was bought by the american chain store giant Wal-Mart. For me, this is when things started to go downhill. The quality of the goods and even the stores in general began to plummet. I stopped shopping there and took my business to Tesco or occassionally Sainsbury's. In late 2007 I moved house and realised that my closest supermarket was now an asda (well, morrisons was closer but I strongly dislike shopping there) and so decided that it was time that I gave them another chance. Ok, so their stores are not as well organised or as snazzy as Tesco or Sainsbury's but they are clean and tidy so thats good enough for me. The staff are also not as...

It ASDA be ASDA

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -

...Asda is my main supermarket, being only a 15 minute walk away from my home . There is a Sainsburys nearer, but I don't find them as competitive for price, so Asda it is . The store I am concentrating on in this review is located on Front Street, Arnold, Nottingham The first thing you're going to be wanting to know is how to get there . Now, I'm pretty sure you're not going to be coming from far and wide if you're visiting my local shop , but it can be accessed via several main bus routes from Nottingham City Centre, as well as from Carlton, Calverton, Gedling and Mapperly . If you prefer to walk, it's within reachable distance from Redhill, Daybrook, and Bestwood. If you're driving, Arnold is signposted from main roads, and ASDA itself has a large carpark, which I have rarely ever seen full, except for at christmas . If for any...

ASDA

Advantages: Most of what you need under one roof
Disadvantages: Owned by Walmart! Poor offers compared to competitors.

...Financially, people are finding times hard. More now than ever. Is ASDA helping? Not really. ASDA have always stayed away from traditional offers, in favour of 'rollbacks' Low prices always... but they aren't. They are still offers! and that price will go back up after a few weeks. So is 20p of an item that costs over a pound as good value as its competitors buy one get one free's? Hardly. I've noticed lately that they have started putting up the cost of items dramatically for a couple of weeks, so that they can then 'roll back' the price 20p or so, to a price that was ABOVE what it was origionally. That takes care of their Grocery department. A thumbs down! But the benefit of ASDA is that unlike other supermarkets they have more to offer than just grocerys. Although other supermarkets have 'Home' 'Music and Video' and 'Clothing...

Thats Asda price

Advantages: Great prices, great products
Disadvantages: None

...I've been shopping in Asda for as long as I can remember. Although there is a number of shops near me, such as Tescos, a local Co-op and a Somerfield, I always seem to find myself drawn back to the big green giant. When I was younger, Asda seemed to have the brand of cheap and cheerful. It was were you went when you were running low on money to shop, with other supermarkets such as Tescos and Safeways seeming to me (in my younger eyes) more up market. However, either it was me being idiotic or Asda having reinvented its image, but I now find Asda being my supermarket of choice (or perhaps it's the third option and I am cheap!) My town in Dunfermline has two Asda supermarkets, and this review is about the one I frequent most, the Halbeath branch. Asda Halbeath is located on the Halbeath retail park, however is set off quite a bit from...

asda

Advantages: good range
Disadvantages: bad bread

...I think that asda is one of the best supermarkets around, although the prices are not really really low like tesco it has much better quality. i find that its own name products are really good quality, and the only one i have ever been able to complain about yet it the bread, its medium sliced bread it sooo thin id hate to see what the thin sliced is like. I think that the range of products sold there are really good and i have never been into the store and not been able to find what im looking for, another thing which they have a wide range of is the eggs, as they have all sorts like free range and this gives you the choice, also some people might be against animal caging and therefor you can stand by your rights. the costomer service is really good and the people there are always happy to help if you need them. they also seem to...

asda price

Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: none

...where i live we dont have an asda near us so i have to travel to the next town which im happy to do as i have a car but not so easy to do if going by bus and you have loads of shopping to carry back. i really love asda, theres a huge choice of food products available from fresh fruit and veg to fresh home baked cakes and bread . asda have really low prices which allows me to buy more. they have a good range of george clothing for men women and children and all at reasonable prices but without the poor quality. further away we have a asda home which only has clothing and home products which is a great huge choice of clothing and also toys, lighting, washing machines, bathroom accessories and dvds and cds too plus a whole lot more. back to the normal store i find the store clean, staff friendly, lots of parking too for everyone...

Asda "Why Pay More"

Advantages: Local, Good customer service, reasonable prices.
Disadvantages: No Cafe, Small toilet facilities.

...~ A Brief History of Asda~ Asda was originally formed in Leeds in 1949 under the name Associated Dairies and Farm Foods Limited. They later adopted the Asda name in 1965. They were later purchased by American company Wal-Mart on 26/7/1999. They launched their clothing range George in 1990, named after George Davis the founder of Next. They have 243 Superstores nationwide and 37 supermarkets. Their motto is at the moment " Asda, Why pay more". The store that I am reviewing is the supermarket in Bury Lancashire, as this is my local store. ~ Entrance~ The entrance to the store is light, airy and very clean. Baskets and trollies are readily available even at busy times. There is always a Greeter at the entrance if you need any information. On going through the gates at the entrance you enter the main store, here you...

By George it's Asda

Advantages: Price, range of casual clothes, separate from food section
Disadvantages: Horrible changing rooms, very few small sizes, varying lengths, not many tills

...My main experience of Asda is of George, so that is the subject of this opinion! For those who don?t know, George is Asda?s clothing range. I had always steered clear of supermarket clothing ranges as they always seemed very cheap and cheerful. I usually shop at Tesco?s and had been unimpressed by their range, and bearing in mind the fact that Tesco?s is probably above Asda for quality in the supermarket stakes I didn?t hold out much hope of Asda?s being anything special! However, I had seen clothes in magazine fashion features listed as coming from George at Asda and they all looked quite nice, so I spoke to a friend who sometimes shops at Asda and she confirmed that they did have some nice clothes. She was also able to fill me in on the background to the George range. George used to be a designer for the high street chain Next...

It Asda Be Asda For Me

Advantages: Easy on the bank balance
Disadvantages: Transport probably needed

...As I am a very happy and loyal shopper at my local Doncaster Asda I thought I would take you on a virtual shopping trip, so sit back and enjoy. The Entrance *************** The entrance to my store can get quite hectic in the busy periods of the day, especially rush hour, that's a killer. The reason for this is a badly placed roundabout with too much traffic volume for the width of the road. They really could do with adding another lane to stop the backlog this causes. Car Park ************* The carpark to my store is massive, but believe me I have seen it full up at peak times. There are great disabled parking facilities, situated closest to the stores entrance for ease of access. The spaces even talk to you when you park in them to warn you that this is a disabled facility only. There is also ample parent and baby parking...

I shop at ASDA!

Advantages: They have cheap quality items, fresh food and fabulously fashionable clothing.
Disadvantages: It is hard to find some items because the shop is so big!

...ASDA is a great place to shop, every week and every day. I shop there quite often. They have very cheap prices and I can guarantee that all of their items have proven to please me. I could recommend it to anyone who wants to buy quality items including clothes, food, DVD's, CD's ect.. at a reasonably low price. Many people go to shops such a Morrissons, Sainsbury, Tesco or even Waitrose, but I can most definatley say that ASDA is the cheapest. Even though it is said that you'd have to spend more money to get something with more quality, that isn't true with ASDA. I've searched in many shops and I cannot find something as cheap and good quality as ASDA's items! I recommend it for "anyone"!...
