...I just have to share my experience of Asda's cafe. I arrived at Asda to do my monthly shopping after a 40 minute journey and didn't feel very well. My husband decided that a cup of tea was in order so we went into the cafe. I found a seat and sat down, unfortunately, the seat I chose was near the entrance so I felt a draft everytime the door opened which was quite often. They had just finished serving breakfasts so when my husband went to order some food he was asked if he could wait for a few minutes until they got the lunch time food out. And it was just a couple of minutes. He then ordered a jacket potato for me with prawn filling and a side salad. Steak pie and chips for him and two teas. Total bill £5.90. The portions were very big and I couldn't finish mine. (And I can eat a big meal) My husband only just... Read review

...Have you ever been doing the shopping, minding your own business, when suddenly this lovely aroma passes your nose from left to right and then circles you? Well that happened to me at the weekend. No I wasnt outside a 5 star restaurant. Believe it or not I was in yep ASDA! Now we didnt intent to eat breakfast out but after that aroma we decided to. I know a lot of ASDAs are different so I will tell you that this was ASDA in Swindon. Going up to the counter to order was quick. The collegues behind the counter were very polite and helpful. Breakfast is served until 11am and here it was 10.45 but they still served us. We were asked if we wanted a small or big breakfast. Small was £1.50 large was £1.99. There was a huge difference between the two but I dont mean that the small breakfast didnt comprise of much... Read review

...Well I am going to try and be neutral in this review but it will be difficult because Asda cafe at our local Asda is not the best and it would struggle to be on any recommended list. Now I am basing this on the Ashton under Lyne Asda cafe, so if your local one is any better then I am sorry but I can only judge by mine. The plus side to the cafe is that they are conveniant. When are in the middle of shopping and you are start feeling a bit hungry and trust me with my wife shopping is an adventure. It is 5.00pm and we have just spent two hours in the supermarket shopping and spent £60.00 on stuff that according to my wife we need. ...If your the type of person who enjoys eating in a cafe with food debris all over the floor such as squashed chips, and having to clear your own table and dump it sky high onto another table then Asda Cafe, Cherry Tree Road is the place for you. If ever the word "pits" was designed for an eating establishment...i know the very one. Last week, my wife and myself were running late on our one day off together. We had been trying to find a bedroom carpet and it took longer than expected. We always have lunch together on our day off and as we were looking at carpets next door to Asda, and we had junior to pick up from school at 15.15, we thought we would try the Asda Cafe as we were limited for time and choice and we thought it may have changed since the last time we were in. ...I often visit the cafe in my local Asda, my most recent visit being on Friday when i went with my sister and her 18 month old daughter. My sister ordered sausage, beans and chips and i chose sausage, chips and gravy (they don't charge extra for gravy!) and we both got a bottle of water. Altogether the bill was .... £4.42! As my neice is still young she didn't have her own meal and just had a little bit from each of us, but the cafe does offer childrens meals, either small portions of the adult meals like the sausage and chips or a kids box which you get a sandwich, yoghurt, biscuit, crisps and juice and it is only about £1.88 for that. Rather than highchairs, they had the ones that you attach to the normal chairs so my neice thought she was a big girl. They also offer free baby food when you are buying an adult meal... Read review

I am unable to comment on the Indian, regrettably the food does not agree with me, but as far as the Chinese and Rotisserie take aways are concerned, they would not be my first choice for a quick meal. Both Brighton ASDA's have however lost their very popular cafes, it would seem that these were not making as much money as floor sales space. Along with all of the other main grocery chains ASDA is increasingly marketing its various financial services through in-store leafleting. These services are primarily internet based and cover a wide ranging scope from loans through to pet insurance. That however is a different review for a different day. ...As I am a very happy and loyal shopper at my local Doncaster Asda I thought I would take you on a virtual shopping trip, so sit back and enjoy. The Entrance *************** The entrance to my store can get quite hectic in the busy periods of the day, especially rush hour, that's a killer. The reason for this is a badly placed roundabout with too much traffic volume for the width of the road. They really could do with adding another lane to stop the backlog this causes. Car Park ************* The carpark to my store is massive, but believe me I have seen it full up at peak times. There are great disabled parking facilities, situated closest to the stores entrance for ease of access. The spaces even talk to you when you park in them to warn you that this is a disabled facility only. There is also ample parent and baby parking... Read review

...of a big shop I like to sit down and have a brew before lugging the bags back to the car. If the store does not improve then they will loose the customers back to Asda and Sainsburys. Shame the ratings below, do not let me put my truthful feelings down. So what could have Tescos done to change my mind about this Cafe. 1) Clean the tables 2) Tidy up the general appearance of the Cafe 3) Have Sauces in packet, this is a hygeine thing 4) Get rid of all the burnt food and re cook some of their own products correctly. 5) Have butter put on bread, you try eating a sandwhich baguette on its own, nearly impossible. 6) Have the Knives and forks tray filled up 7) Presentation of food is the keys, if it looks nice and edible, it probably is, a side salad on Jackets, rather than a spud on a plate. 8) Offering refunds is not a soloution... ...cushion covers, a toothbrush holder and a soap dish for £1 (what a bargain.) I just wish I had been blessed with smaller feet then I would have bought the boots aswell and if they turned out to be a fashion disaster then for 25p who can complain! ...ASDA- is a great supermarket and has been voted the cheapest for the 7th year running! As Walmart (an American Company) own it I've noticed that they are developing most stores so that there is a pharmacist, jewellers, dry-cleaners, cafe, clothing department and a toys/games section too. This is handy because you can do all of your shopping under one roof. Asda Parking- Most Asda stores have free parking and their car parks tend to be well laid out with disabled spaces and child spaces giving extra room to open doors. The Store- The store in general has a light and airy feel to it and tends to be clean. The toilets are regulary monitered and cleaned.
