ASDA cafe that smells like a 5 star
Advantages: perfectly cooked, clean and polite
Disadvantages: only one of not too soft a fried egg
...Have you ever been doing the shopping, minding your own business, when suddenly this lovely aroma passes your nose from left to right and then circles you?
Well that happened to me at the weekend. No I wasnt outside a 5 star restaurant. Believe it or not I was in yep ASDA!
Now we didnt intent to eat breakfast out but after that aroma we decided to.
I know a lot of ASDAs are different so I will tell you that this was ASDA in Swindon.
Going up to the counter to order was quick. The collegues behind the counter were very polite and helpful.
Breakfast is served until 11am and here it was 10.45 but they still served us.
We were asked if we wanted a small or big breakfast. Small was £1.50 large was £1.99. There was a huge difference between the two but I dont mean that the small breakfast didnt comprise of much...

Asda cafe mmmmmmmmm...
Advantages: cheap meals
Disadvantages: can be crowded
...I just have to share my experience of Asda's cafe. I arrived at Asda to do my monthly shopping after a 40 minute journey and didn't feel very well. My husband decided that a cup of tea was in order so we went into the cafe. I found a seat and sat down, unfortunately, the seat I chose was near the entrance so I felt a draft everytime the door opened which was quite often.
They had just finished serving breakfasts so when my husband went to order some food he was asked if he could wait for a few minutes until they got the lunch time food out. And it was just a couple of minutes.
He then ordered a jacket potato for me with prawn filling and a side salad. Steak pie and chips for him and two teas. Total bill £5.90.
The portions were very big and I couldn't finish mine. (And I can eat a big meal) My husband only just...

Asda
Advantages: Price
Disadvantages: Customer service
...sda is one of those supermarkets which has a really bad reputation, in the past this has been justified, but asda is currently going through something of a re-invention of late.
In 1999, Asda was bought by the american chain store giant Wal-Mart. For me, this is when things started to go downhill. The quality of the goods and even the stores in general began to plummet. I stopped shopping there and took my business to Tesco or occassionally Sainsbury's.
In late 2007 I moved house and realised that my closest supermarket was now an asda (well, morrisons was closer but I strongly dislike shopping there) and so decided that it was time that I gave them another chance.
Ok, so their stores are not as well organised or as snazzy as Tesco or Sainsbury's but they are clean and tidy so thats good enough for me. The staff are also not as...

That's Asda price
Advantages: good prices, caters for kids
Disadvantages: don't always have what you want
...I often visit the cafe in my local Asda, my most recent visit being on Friday when i went with my sister and her 18 month old daughter.
My sister ordered sausage, beans and chips and i chose sausage, chips and gravy (they don't charge extra for gravy!) and we both got a bottle of water. Altogether the bill was .... £4.42!
As my neice is still young she didn't have her own meal and just had a little bit from each of us, but the cafe does offer childrens meals, either small portions of the adult meals like the sausage and chips or a kids box which you get a sandwich, yoghurt, biscuit, crisps and juice and it is only about £1.88 for that.
Rather than highchairs, they had the ones that you attach to the normal chairs so my neice thought she was a big girl.
They also offer free baby food when you are buying an adult meal...

The worst in-store cafe
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Dirty, Unloved, Un cared for, Poor quality
...If your the type of person who enjoys eating in a cafe with food debris all over the floor such as squashed chips, and having to clear your own table and dump it sky high onto another table then Asda Cafe, Cherry Tree Road is the place for you.
If ever the word "pits" was designed for an eating establishment...i know the very one.
Last week, my wife and myself were running late on our one day off together. We had been trying to find a bedroom carpet and it took longer than expected. We always have lunch together on our day off and as we were looking at carpets next door to Asda, and we had junior to pick up from school at 15.15, we thought we would try the Asda Cafe as we were limited for time and choice and we thought it may have changed since the last time we were in.
WRONG...STILL ITS GOOD OLD SELF.
It was an absolute cazi...

It ASDA be ASDA
Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -
...Asda is my main supermarket, being only a 15 minute walk away from my home . There is a Sainsburys nearer, but I don't find them as competitive for price, so Asda it is .
The store I am concentrating on in this review is located on Front Street, Arnold, Nottingham
The first thing you're going to be wanting to know is how to get there . Now, I'm pretty sure you're not going to be coming from far and wide if you're visiting my local shop , but it can be accessed via several main bus routes from Nottingham City Centre, as well as from Carlton, Calverton, Gedling and Mapperly . If you prefer to walk, it's within reachable distance from Redhill, Daybrook, and Bestwood.
If you're driving, Arnold is signposted from main roads, and ASDA itself has a large carpark, which I have rarely ever seen full, except for at christmas . If for any...

ASDA
Advantages: Most of what you need under one roof
Disadvantages: Owned by Walmart! Poor offers compared to competitors.
...Financially, people are finding times hard. More now than ever. Is ASDA helping?
Not really.
ASDA have always stayed away from traditional offers, in favour of 'rollbacks' Low prices always... but they aren't. They are still offers! and that price will go back up after a few weeks. So is 20p of an item that costs over a pound as good value as its competitors buy one get one free's? Hardly.
I've noticed lately that they have started putting up the cost of items dramatically for a couple of weeks, so that they can then 'roll back' the price 20p or so, to a price that was ABOVE what it was origionally.
That takes care of their Grocery department. A thumbs down! But the benefit of ASDA is that unlike other supermarkets they have more to offer than just grocerys. Although other supermarkets have 'Home' 'Music and Video' and 'Clothing...

This asda better not be it
Advantages: Conveniant
Disadvantages: poor selection
...Well I am going to try and be neutral in this review but it will be difficult because Asda cafe at our local Asda is not the best and it would struggle to be on any recommended list. Now I am basing this on the Ashton under Lyne Asda cafe, so if your local one is any better then I am sorry but I can only judge by mine.
The plus side to the cafe is that they are conveniant. When are in the middle of shopping and you are start feeling a bit hungry and trust me with my wife shopping is an adventure.
It is 5.00pm and we have just spent two hours in the supermarket shopping and spent £60.00 on stuff that according to my wife we need. So feeling a bit hungry and tired and in need of a rest, we decided to get something to eat.
We grab a tray each look at the menu on the wall and order a tuna...

Cafe Nero
Advantages: Authentic Coffee, Clean, tidy premises, 1st class ambience and atmosphere
Disadvantages: Food range is not so great value.
...Caffe Nero is a leading Coffee store Retail Outlet located in many high street, town center, and Airport Lounge venues across England, wales and Scotland.
The company sells, Coffee as its main product. Also they stock Tea, cold refreshments, panini sandwiches, cookies, crisps, Chocolates, cakes, and sweets.
What I find that makes cafe nero different to other coffee Retail Outlet's is almost a combination of excellent Coffee, and a high standard of Customer Service.
The Music in the background of the store is subtle and light. This allows people to read a newspaper, to socialise with friends, family, or to enjoy a relaxing cup of Coffee in relative peace and quiet. The atmosphere is what makes caffe nero a pleasant and welcoming place to visit.
The staff seem to be team organised. I have seen Table's been cleared...

Thats Asda price
Advantages: Great prices, great products
Disadvantages: None
...I've been shopping in Asda for as long as I can remember. Although there is a number of shops near me, such as Tescos, a local Co-op and a Somerfield, I always seem to find myself drawn back to the big green giant.
When I was younger, Asda seemed to have the brand of cheap and cheerful. It was were you went when you were running low on money to shop, with other supermarkets such as Tescos and Safeways seeming to me (in my younger eyes) more up market.
However, either it was me being idiotic or Asda having reinvented its image, but I now find Asda being my supermarket of choice (or perhaps it's the third option and I am cheap!)
My town in Dunfermline has two Asda supermarkets, and this review is about the one I frequent most, the Halbeath branch.
Asda Halbeath is located on the Halbeath retail park, however is set off quite a bit from...
