Asda Ice Cream - IT'S MINT!!!!
Review of Asda Mint Chocolate Chip Soft Serve Ice Cream 2ltr by  pennywa

Advantages: Tastes lovely, very cheap, easy to find in the shops
Disadvantages: It's easy to scoff the lot in one go!

...We all love ice cream in our house. Sometimes we get the more expensive ones like Ben & Jerry's for instance, but we eat it so quickly that mum often has to resort to just buying us the cheaper versions from time to time. Usually we get these from Iceland, but lately she's been getting Asda's own brand 'cheap' version, and we all love it. The latest one we tried this weekend was Asda's Mint Chocolate Chip. It comes in a 2 litre carton and was under 90p - I think that's really cheap, as 2 litres is a lot of ice cream to get through, even for me! Sometimes we put it into cones or dad likes to sandwich his between 2 wafer biscuits. I don't like to do either, I just like to plop mine in a bowl and eat it with a very big spoon! This particular one is really really tasty. The only downside (probably) is that the picture... Read review

Asda smartprice Custard creams
Review of Asda Smartprice Custard Creams by  JustAmy

Advantages: Cheap yet tasty
Disadvantages: none

...A custard cream is a biscuit of three layers. It is a delicious custard flavoured cream sandwiched with two plain biscuits. For custard creams you can pay a wide range of prices though i find it pointless paying one pound for a packet of custard creams when you can buy a 400gram packet out of Asda for only 37 pence. And that fits into even my student budget . Also as a teenager I enjoy good quality treats and theses cheap alternative reach my very high quality and satisfy my taste buds. Each biscuit contains 61 calories which is ideal for a little treat and also contains 0.8grams of protein, 9grams of carbohydrates, 4.19rams of sugar , 0.2 grams of fibre and a trace of sodium. As these are Asda’s smart price range biscuits the packaging is nothing spectacular just a basic white package with yellow writing. These biscuits... Read review

Asda Moisturising Cream Bath
Review of Asda Cream Bath Moisturising Soft Lilac by  leebee81

Advantages: Cheap, does the job
Disadvantages: Average fragrance

...while we were shopping that I needed some bubble bath. Bubble bath always is stupidly expensive for what it is, so I was pleasantly suprised to see a huge 1ltr bottle of Asda Cream Bath. I was even more impressed to see a variety of scents/colours. In Aus, there are branded products, and there are "own brand" products, but they are what you would call "value" products. Theres either the budget brand, or the normal commerical brands, no middle ground. Anyway, as this was so cheap at 96p (from memory), I decided I could easily afford to give it a go. The bottle is, as stated above. 1ltr in size and has a heavy flat bottom - perfect for sitting on the corner of the bath (where it lives at my place). It has a screw on lid which I also use as a measuring device. The plastic on both the bottle and the lid is transparent. The one i selected... Read review

Custard cream? no! ice cream
Review of Asda Custard Cream Ice Cream Biscuits by  lazza123

Advantages: Novelty value
Disadvantages: Taste

...You can tell summer is here, all the different types of ice cream are now available in the shops! I was walking around my local ASDA, and found these - all the ones I would normally have had gone :-( ** What are they? ** Asda Custard cream ice cream biscuits are just that – Ice creams that look exactly like custard creams. The box has six individually wrapped ice creams in. It seems to be a bit of a trend now, making ice creams in the style of well known other brands. I’m sure most people have eaten, or even seen custard cream biscuits; well these are the ice cream version, they look identical to the biscuits, but are about three times larger. ** What’s the pack like? ** So what do you get for £1.48? You get a box of six ice cream biscuits, weighing in at 220g. The box is blue, and has a picture of the ice creams... Read review

WANTED: 1 Bottle Ice-Cream De-icer
Review of Asda really creamy ice cream by  zoe_page

Advantages: Cheap, green, interesting
Disadvantages: Not any of the above in a good way

...In honour of the fact that I didn’t have to de-ice my car this morning, the first day this week I actually remembered a coat on leaving the house, I’m writing about ice cream. And icy ice cream at that If money were no object my ice cream freezer would be full of Ben and Jerry’s and Haagen Dazs. But sometimes, just sometimes, it’s hard to resist a deal, and Asda’s 2 for £3 offer on their really creamy ice cream was nothing if not one of these. The ‘really creamy’ sub brand covers 6 flavours which are a random mix of the ordinary (chocolate, vanilla, toffee) and the bizarre (Summer Fruits, Lemon Meringue). Since the brand is up as a generic product, I decided to put my review here rather than suggest a specific item for the flavour I’m writing about: After Dinner Mint. ☼☼☼ The Basics ☼... Read review

I scream for ice cream!
Review of Asda Vanilla Ice Cream Rolls by  SweetTooth93

Advantages: Tasty, fairly cheap, not to high in calories/fat
Disadvantages: Not very healthy

...I am quite a dessert person! Wheather its a simple vanilla yogurt, or if it's a triple chocolate brownie "delight", i'm happy! When I was young, my favourite dessert used to be something like a chocolate mousse- I used to love when I went to stay with my Auntie and Uncle in Edinburgh, they'd buy luxury belgian chocolate mousses for us, and then chop up mars bars and pop mini peices into the mousse to create a taste explosion! When I started high school I developed a taste for things like strawberry cheesecake and apple pies- I still have that taste to this day, but sometimes I like something a little more plain, and a little less heavy! Last Thursday I had a sudden craving for ice cream in the car, on our way back from the doctors surgery. My mum needed to pop into Asda to get some more Branflakes, so when she wandered off... Well and truely creamed
Review of Asda Dry Skin Cream by  JULIEANNE27UK

Advantages: Cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: slightly greasy

...I confess that I did not buy my Asda dry skin cream, I obtained it free! I was given it by a friend who suffers with very sensitive skin. She had bought it to try after having painfully dry skin due to allergies and eczema. To cut a long story short, unfortunately for her it contains lanolin, which it turns out she is allergic to. Hence, I acquired said cream. ( Please see note marked ** below, I don’t want to put anyone off this product before I’ve even described it!) I have 50ml of Asda’s ‘Dry Skin Cream’, which comes in a fairly plain blue and white plastic squeezy tube. The tube itself does the job it is meant for, but is not very unique or overflowing with excitement. I don’t think it would leap off the shelf and grab your attention in the supermarket. However, it is a handy size which would fit into a handbag... Read review

Cheap Crunchy Custard Creams
Review of Asda Smartprice Custard Creams by  faders321

Advantages: Refreshing Vanilla and nice and crunchy
Disadvantages: None!

...I don't normally shop in Asda but when I was away for the weekend with my husband it was the only nearby supermarket so we didn't really have much choice. I don't have a problem with buying the supermarkets own version of food and I really like most Tesco Value products and have nothing against Sainsbury's Basics ones either but I have to say that I don't trust Asda Smart Price. This is mainly because I have had a lot of bad experiences buying products from Asda, they normally seem to be gone off or broken but that might just be my local store. So as you can guess I was a little bit dubious about buying Asda Smart Price Custard Creams. I couldn't go the whole weekend without some kind of biscuit, I love them too much and I didn't want to spend to much money in case they were bad quality so I chose these. However I was pleasantly... A cuppa tea and a custard cream
Review of Asda Smartprice Custard Creams by  lannazus

Advantages: Tasty and great value for money!
Disadvantages: A bit crumbly

...for a party, and it has a long "cupboard life" as well, cos it stores for ages and ages! A good 4 or 5 months as the best before date, but to be honest, unless you open biscuit packets, they dont' really go off do they? Lets see, it's packaged in the typical Asda Smartprice white, with the logo on it. With the big yellow "Custard Creams" on the front, and the picture of 2 big biscuits, they're hard to mistake for anything else. It boasts no articial colourings or preservatives, and has 2.5 g of fat and 61 calories per biscuit. Too many not be too good for those on a diet! Oooh, and suitable for vegetarians too! :) Lets talk about value for money. Asda definately do this well as 37p is an absolute bargain. Tesco are slightly more expensive, and I think there's less in the packet. I have seen other really expensive custard creams, that are just... Read review

I scream for Ice Cream!
Review of Asda really creamy ice cream by  tazza72

Advantages: Really Creamy rich tasting ice cream
Disadvantages: None that I can think of

...I'm very partial to ice cream - i'm not even fussed what brand it is - I've tried them all. Haagen Daaz, Ben & Jerry's, Carte D'Or - you name it I've tried it. I've also tried all the supermarket own brand specialty ice creams, so when our new Asda opened - well it just had to be done. Asda's brand is 'Really Creamy Dairy Ice Cream' and comes in 6 flavours - which are: Triple Chocolate After Dinner Mint Toffee Vanilla Summer Fruits Lemon Meringue They all live up to their description - they really are very creamy. They look very appealing and the flavour does not disappoint. The mint is very minty, the lemon meringue is very lemony and so on. But don't take my word for it - go and try for yourself. The products come in 1 litre tubs and the calories vary from 100 - 120 per 100ml, and the fat content is between 4.5g... Read review
