Sleep ol' Ashford.
Advantages: Quiet and sleepy town.
Disadvantages: Boring usually!
...places now! A ticket around Ashford costs £2.80 and considering the size of Ashford I find the price staggering. The town has a fantastic sports centre called the Stour Centre where you can join clubs and participate in Swimming, Karate, Juditsu and many other activites. Singleton in Ashford also has so many houses which are fantastically stunning and really fair priced. They are brand new and I have watched them being built. Very slow but the builders got there in the end! Ashford has a South Kent College based here too which you can do A-levels, GCSEs and GNVQ's. There is also one huge cinema and Pizza hut.
What I disliked about Ashford was the amount of chavs! I guess you get them in any town/city but I found there to be lots here. The chavs in Ashford didn't particuarly bother me but if I was a visitor it would really worry me as all...

Slippery When Wet
Advantages: Fairly cheap,
Disadvantages: samey- which is rubbish when your not drunk!
...In our hometown of Ashford, there aren’t many places to go clubbing. Ok, in Ashford, there is ONE place to go clubbing at present. There is a new club opening in September but given the previous short-lived attempts at using that particular building as a nightclub, I doubt much will come of it. Sooo, Liquid, our one existing nightclub is the one I’ll be telling you about here.
Liquid is part of a chain, owned by the Luminar group. There are branches all over the place, although the only other one I have been to is in Windsor, Berkshire. A quick peek at the website tells me that there are further branches in the following towns as well.
Aberdeen
Basingstoke
Blackburn
Cardiff
Gloucester
Hanley
Harlow
Ipswich
Jersey
Lancaster
Luton
Mansfield
Newbury
Norwich
Nuneaton

Castle Museum in Kent
Advantages: Eclectic Museum set in pleasant grounds
Disadvantages: Not as good as nearby Hever Castle.
... Visitor Information
Chiddingstone Castle is 5 miles from Edenbridge in Kent, between the two more famous historic attractions of the area, Hever Castle and Penshurst Place.
Travelling by car, without a sat nav, we found it best to follow the signs to nearby Hever Castle on the major roads. As we got nearer, on the B2027, we followed the Chiddingstone signs.
If you have a sat nav, you will need the postcode TN8 7AD.
They are open Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, from Easter until the last Sunday of September. Information about additional open days can be found in the What?s On Section of their website, which includes Halloween and Christmas events.
Prices are £6 adults, £4 children aged 5-13, under 5s are free. There are also family and season tickets.

***Beggars Can't be Choosers***
Advantages: good value
Disadvantages: hate the people!!
...When I am in the motherland of Tenterden, Kent, the pub that I nearly always end up in is the County Hotel, in Ashford. That doesn't make too much sense, as it's a good 15 miles away from where I live, but because my school was in Ashford, most of my friends are too, and so I have drive all the way over there to meet them.
The County is a Wetherspoon's pub, and apparently hotel, although I am pretty much stumped about the features of the hotel, seeing as I have never noticed any suitcase-bearing revellers in their, or in fact any stairs to the rooms. It is a mystery to my friends and I. I feel like booking in just to see where these magical rooms are! Or maybe its just a name? Anyway, from here on in, I will telling you about the pub and restaurant facilities only.
Anyway, Wetherspoon's are a countrywide chain of public houses...

Happy New Year's Pizza!
Advantages: Friendly staff, authentic reliablle food
Disadvantages: starters tiny, prices may be considered high
...On New Year's Day, after a truly terrible night out in Maidstone, my best friend and I decided to treat ourselves with a nice meal. So off with trotted to Pizza Express in Ashford, Kent (I am reviewing this branch in particular, but information such as the menu applies nationwide.
***What's it all about?***
Pizza Express began in the 1960's, when creator Peter Boizot found a distinct lack of authentic Italian eateries in London. And so he imported a real pizza oven, and opened the first restaurant in Soho, London. The Brits were clamouring to try this authentic Pizza, and so a franchise followed. Pizza Express now employs 6000 staff nationwide, with 92 restaurants in London alone.
Pizza Express's philosophy is to produce high quality food, in stylish surroundings, at value for money prices. So do they stick this goal? Read...

Ashford Town FC
Advantages: Friendly atmosphere. Nice stadium. Great FA cup tradition
Disadvantages: Financial problems.
...There are two soccer clubs that mean a lot to me: one is Liverpool my favourite Premier League side and the other is Ashford Town FC my home town team, and the subject of this review.
Ashford Town FC was founded in 1930 and there have been semi-professional teams in the town since the 19 th century under various names including Ashford United and Ashford Railway Works.Pre World War II Ashford Town played in the Kent League and enjoyed a modicum of success including a FA Cup tie against Clapton Orient, now known as Leyton Orient. In the post war period they were in the Kent League until 1969 and won several trophies including the Kent League championship in 1949-49.
They joined the Southern League in 1959 and won promotion several times to the Premier League where they played teams such as Cheltenham, Wimbledon...

A taste of old New York, New York
Advantages: Good food, affordable, family friendly
Disadvantages: staff a bit slow at times
...Yesterday was a fine Sunday morning, I woke up dazed and confused at my best mates house, after one too many VK Apples/white wines/apple sourz. The urge for delicious food kicked in almost immediately. After languishing in bed for a while, generally feeling sorry for ourselves, and admiring our bruises and make-up smears from the previous night, we decided that toast simply would not suffice, and that Burger King was definitely in order.
And so we staggered into our jeans (please note, we both wore a separate pair), and into my sexy Rover to get our munchies. We reached Ashford's Eureka Leisure Park, and parked up outside Burger King, before realising, that, being utterly fabulous, we had no cash (Only carry cards, dahling), and so we drove over to the cashpoint. Next to the cashpoint, sat good old Frankie and Benny's.
After some...

Ashford
Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -
...Well ; heres my opinion of the place they call " Ashford " ; I mean - it's not too important... it's only where I call home... ;-)
Now you see the slang on the street these days people call it " Trashford " and all the rest but it aint a bad place to be actually... let me explain why...
The Good Points
The Town Center
The town center is good place to generally hang out as it is rather a large place with a good selection of shops including Blockbuster and Electroniques Boutique (my favs) It also hosts a place which is sheltered called " Community Square " with shops inside there - pretty cool.
The Mcarthur Glenn place
Iv only been once and I can honestly say it really didnt appeal to me - far too many fshion shops for my liking - nice big structure though and a place to hang out and meet people I suppose... although...

Some fields in Kent
Advantages: Commonplace
Disadvantages: Rare
...that. It would also be a safer place - safer for the diversity of nature, and safer from our reliance on monoculture, on chemicals and on high energy inputs for our food production. We as a species are taking a gamble that all these things will be sustainable, even in the face of the changing climate that our numbers and activities engender, and it is a gamble that may well be lost. One of the values of places like Marden Meadow is that they remind us we should think about such things.
What's more, there's no charge for entry, which makes it especially good value for money. If you feel you ought to be giving something back for your enjoyment of the place, you can always make a donation to Kent Wildlife Trust, which owns it.
