Singapore - the Hotel 81 chain
Advantages: Cheap, clean and safe
Disadvantages: Not for the faint-hearted if you don't like the real world
...I did not mean to stay in a Hotel 81 hotel. I was planning to be in transit through Singapore at my own expense for a day or so.I tried three four-star special offers. The first two came back after about 12 hrs to inform me that their hotel was full on the dates in question.
The third hotel was also full but offered me a hotel, Hotel 81 Geyland on Lorong 20, which they recommended for a cost of about £20 per night. Time was a bit tight ,but the photo looked OK on-line and the price was fantastic so I booked it and this is where I stayed, and stayed again on two further visits later in the year.
This hotel is not for seekers of de-luxe accommodation. The rooms are completely basic and quite small. My room had an air-conditioner (which did not cost extra to use), a small bathroom with toilet and shower and a welcome bag...

Delighting guests every single day. Mandarin Oriental Singapore.
Advantages: Great location. Excellent service that isn't too Singaporean! New rooms with excellent features!
Disadvantages: You will pay for the pleasure!
...For those who have been keeping up with my Mandarin Oriental exploits then this is the third installment. Today I shall review one of Singapore?s finest five star hotels and let you into the world of Mandarin Oriental Singapore.
I have stayed at a variety of hotels in Singapore but none have come as close to the perfect stay that you get at MO. I last stayed here in 2007 when the hotel was just branded as The Oriental, however Mandarin Oriental have since renamed the property under their full brand, just to make you aware in case you read reviews on either of the properties, they are in fact the same. Just look for the ?fan? logo of the company.
I was staying in Singapore in between a trip from Malaysia to Australia and given my love for MO I knew this would be a good choice. Suffice to say I was not disappointed.

The Pan Pacific Hotel, Singapore
Advantages: Nice food and delectable facilities
Disadvantages: none
...The Pan Pacific Hotel is one if the finest hotels in Singapore. Three shopping malls are located in the vicinity of the hotel, including Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre. You will also take 20 minutes to arrive at the hotel from Changi Airport. The hotel has 778 well-designated rooms and suites, which they themselves, provide extravagant views of the city and habour while 26 meeting venues are open for various kinds of events.
Hotel guests may like the facilities---tennis courts, a spa, gymnasium and an outdoor swimming pool. The hotel is also well-known for its award-winning restaurants including the Hai Tien Lo's delicate Cantonese cuisines, Keyaki Japanese restaurant for authentic Japanese dishes, Global Kitchen for international gourmet presentations, Brunch for all...

Booking Hotels online with Asia-Hotels.com
Advantages: Easy to use and competitive prices
Disadvantages: None
...If you want to book a hotel room in Asia, The Pacific Rim or Australia over the Internet with confidence and be sure that your room will be waiting for you when you arrive and at the price you agreed to pay, then your first choose must be www.asia-hotels.com .
Their web site is well laid out, easy to navigate and secure. I have used the site on numerous occasions to book hotel rooms in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore and each time the price has been considerably less that other well-known web sites. Where no price is available for a specific month, if you email Asia hotels they will get back to you with a price that you can accept or decline.
They have two methods of room booking one where you pay when you make the reservation and the other, which is slightly more expensive, where you make payment direct to the hotel.

My favourite Singapore hotel
Advantages: Unrivalled location, great facities, wonderful breakfasts
Disadvantages: View of the freeway from some of the rooms
...Of all the hotels I have stayed in in Sing, this is definitely my favourite. It's all the flash, marbled, gilted, chanderliered swankiness you can desire, with great facilities, service and efficiency, as only Singapore can do.
The rooms are well appointed and very clean, with your typical Holiday Inn double beds and choice of pillow firmness, TV, trouser press, tea and coffee etc., and also internet connections, bathrobes, disposable slippers and safes. The large marble bathrooms come complete with a phone for those calls that just can't wait.
One of my favourite features in this hotel is the roof pool. These are common in most Singapore hotels, but this one is a huge, overflowing marble affair, with foliage around the walls, the odd gecko, and is beautifully lit for night swimming, when the temperature is perfect. There is...

Singapore's Grand Old Lady
Advantages: Luxuty,Colonial Atmosphere, great Food, Fine Service
Disadvantages: Expensive
...Singapore's most popular boutique hotel is the world famous 104-room Raffles Hotel which today is the preferred option for the well-heeled celebrities and other members of the rich and famous club. It is located in the heart of the business and shopping district at Beach Road.
The dear old Raffles was built in 1887 complete with a stunning courtyard, which reputedly has more than 50,000 plants. It was the colonial hotel par excellence and attracted such famous figures as Joseph Conrad and Somerset Maugham.
Despite recently being refurbished the place retains its colonial-style atmosphere with its very high ceilings, the whirring ceiling fans, exotoc Oriental carpets, wonderful period-style furnishings, its signature restaurants serving up fine cuisine and highly attentive hotel staff. Concessions to the modern era have been made in...

Hip Hotel in Singapore
Advantages: Good Location
Disadvantages: Overrated
...Fullerton is the latest addition to the luxury hotels in the city and even Martine McCutcheon stayed in Fullerton Hotel last time when she was in Singapore!
The Fullerton Building was built in 1928 and has housed the General Post Office, the Exchange, The Chamber of Commerce and The Singapore Club. The most recent occupants were the Singapore Post, the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, and a branch of the POSBank.
The Fullerton Hotel enjoys a fabulous location right in front of the Merlion. It is also very close to The Esplanade, the newly opened music and theatre venue. There is an underpass from Fullerton Hotel to One Fullerton which has restaurants and nightclubs.
There are five resutaurants in the hotel. The Courtyard, Lighthouse , Town, The Post Bar and Jade.THe Courtyard is the lobby lounge and the Lighthouse restaurant has...

rendezvous hotel, singapore
Advantages: good location, nice and modern, good facilities
Disadvantages: none
...I stayed at the Rendezvous this year in May for one week. Our room was a superior room which was well furnished, with a spacious en suite bathroom, mini bar, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, in room safe, free tea making facilities, satellite tv, and internet facilities.
The swimming pool and jacuzzi is situated in the middle of the hotel outside and is surrounded by 4 walls of the hotel. The gym is spacious with all the latest gym equipment. As we were staying on bed and breakfast basis, we only sampled the buffet breakfast which was delicious! The hotel has its own restaurant- Straits Cafe and also the Palong Lobby bar. Located within the hotel's surrounding courtyard is various shops and outlets selling all types of food from sushi to italian.
Outside the hotel is the "Kopitiam" 24 hour food court which has around 12...

Budget Holiday In Singapore
Advantages: Safe, A good public transport and accomodation
Disadvantages: the local people are not so friendly, it is very strict
...Singapore is well known as the fine city in the world. It is located in South East Asia.
Arriving in Changi Airport, you will be amazed by the arrangement and the cleanness inside. Yup, Of Course, you can not throw the rubbish anywhere you like. If you did it, I am sure an office will come across you and fine you. So be careful.
If you are a shopaholic, I am very sure that you will like Singapore city. There are a lot huge Shopping center there. But, be careful with your credit card. You might be over limit.
Orchad Road is the most well know area in Singapore. There are a lot huge shopping center, food point and hotel. However, if you go for budget holiday, I can suggest you not to shop at orchad shopping center. The price of the items, are a bit higher compare to the others shopping center, but of course you will get a very high...

A Taste Of Asia
Advantages: Great food, great staff and service, very clean, sticky rice to die for
Disadvantages: no kids menu a little priceier than your average curry house
...I've never tried writing and review on a restaurant before but Asia Lounge is one of my favourite places to eat so I thought I'd give it a go and hope I do it some justice.
What Is the Asia Lounge
Asia Lounge is the newest restaurant in Bury, Manchester. It only opened at the back end of last year.
The restaurant serves up authentic Thai and Indian dishes. The chefs themselves are from Thailand and Pakistan.
The restaurant has two floors and can seat 200 guests. As well as taking bookings it is also available to hire for functions. Although the Asia Lounge isn't a take away it will do so by special request.
Location
Asia Lounge is located on Rochdale Road, Bury just on the corner of Heywood Street.
The Restaurant
The restaurant itself has a red theme going on, plain walls with pieces of ethnic art on the walls, wooden floors...
