...~~~Apple iphone~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This phone attracted my attention because even before it was released it was considered the best phone on the market in 2008.
I was reluctant to purchase this phone as I was happy with my Sony Ericson but I have to say it was the best decision I have ever made. I actually paid my phone contract off early to get a new contract with O2 as they were the first suppliers to offer the iphone.
My first iphone was the iphone 3g with 8gb memory (16gb also available).
~Then came the iphone 3gs:
Released one year later in 2009, the 3gs was mine instantly after I had been so impressed with the 3g versions.
Advertised as having faster speed capabilities the 3gs came in either 16gb or 32 gb, I chose the 16gb which was an upgrade from my last phone.
~Cosmetics:
The iphone in my opinion is very sleek and sexy! I...
Advantages: Everything for every man Disadvantages: Can be pricey
...Cheapest way into iPhone 3G S Ownership?
Introduction
I?m going to assume you?ve read my previous review of how to get your hands on an iPhone cheaply, and that you?ve discounted buying second hand and that you want that box fresh sensation of unwrapping your very own brand new iPhone 3G S!
If this is indeed the case then read on, the following is for YOU! We?ll look at what Contract options there are, what Pay and Go options are available and (my favourite) what?s available Off Plan.
We?ll use the iPhone 3G S 16GB model in these examples, as it?s the cheapest iPhone 3G S to start with. Obviously you could buy a brand new iPhone 3G and make an additional saving, but then this review is of the iPhone 3G S (although much of the content is applicable).
I will be looking at the obvious telecoms firms...
...I have recently sold my 60GB PS3 'Phat' and replaced it with a 250GB Slim model and so far I couldn't be happier with it.
~~~ Games ~~~
For 99% of people this will be the key area that the console has to perform in - and it does. I've played a wide variety of games on it since I bought it including FIFA, Call of Duty, Assassins Creed 2 and various demos. All of these play very smoothly and the graphics are of a very good high-definition quality.
I can see no difference between the performance of the original 'Phat' models and the 'Slim' model.
~~~ Blu-Ray Player ~~~
So far the only Blu-Ray movie I have watched on the 'Slim' is Transformers 2. I have watched parts of it on both a stand-alone Blu-Ray player and on the original PS3 and again I can see no difference.
The picture quality is very bright...
Advantages: Battery Life / Charge Times ; Nice Size Disadvantages: Squeaking / Sticking
...I don't think there's that much that can be said about this specific product...it's a controller. However, I'll give an account of my experiences of this controller over the past two years.
I got two of these sixaxis controllers free with my PS3 so was able to rotate between using one and charging the other, hopefully allowing me to prolong the usability of the contollers. Unfortunately, after about a year and a half ( and many hours of use, 200+ ) the left analogue stick on both controllers began to squeak and stick. I'm pretty sure the analogue bashing involved in Beijing Olympics contributed highly to this. The main disadvantages of this for me is when I'm playing Call of Duty and I'm hiding behind an object and without realising have begun slowly moving out into the open. The second most annoying thing is at night when I'm trying...
Advantages: +Lightweight +Great battery life +Motion-sensing Disadvantages: -No rumble
...The SixAxis controller is the standard controller for the PS3 at the moment. In the east (and possibly America) a new version has been released which has a rumble feature. This product will be out in the UK around about springtime. The current model lacks rumble capabilities. This may seem a bad thing, but you really do get used to it, I don't miss rumble at all now although I might buy the dualshock3 (the rumble version) when it comes out in the spring, as it's bound to add a bit to the experience of playing a game, but its nothing major. The lack of rumble is the ONLY possible negative I can think of for the sixaxis, although as it doesn’t affect me much I don’t really see it as a negative (although some might)
The controller uses bluetooth to connect to the ps3, you plug it into the ps3 by the lead, press a button in...
Advantages: Reliable, lightweight, chargeable by USB. Will fall in price with introduction of DUALSHOCK 3. Disadvantages: No rumble. DUALSHOCK 3 is a more complete controller.
...The SIXAXIS is a wireless, lightweight controller for the PS3. However, it crucially lacks the rumble facility that has since been included in the newly released DUALSHOCK 3 controller.
For me, the SIXAXIS appears to have been a temporary controller bundled in with the initial batches of PS3s and available only until the technology was perfected to install rumble into the controller. Now that this has been done, the DUALSHOCK 3 is the way forward. It is exactly the same as the SIXAXIS, but feels slightly heavier (in a good way) and has rumble. The SIXAXIS has been discontinued from production, and the DUALSHOCK 3 is undoubtedly its superior.
However, if you can snap one of these up for £15 or so, and dont care too much about the lack of rumble, then definitely go for it. They are reliable controllers based on the typical Sony...
Advantages: Upgraded sofware and Hardware, better camera Disadvantages: Appearance hasn't changed, Expensive
... Apple iPhone 3GS - An iPhone Upgrade
Now I?ve heard people saying ?what is the point of Apple releasing an new iPhone when it looks exactly like the old one!? and to be honest they may have a point... If it ain?t broke, don?t fix it - right? Well no actually, while there may be very few external changes, inside it?s a different story. The 3GS has a larger CPU, more storage space, new internal compass and Apple have improved the optics for the new iPhone?s camera. These modifications coincide neatly with a leap forward in the iPhone?s system software, the release of the iPhone OS 3.0 ? which will allow features including copy and paste, tethering, landscape keyboard options for more applications and a version of Spotlight, designed specifically for the iPhone.
Appearance
As I have already mentioned, in terms...
Advantages: It's advanced technology and huge variety of features. Disadvantages: The very low and quickly decreasing battery life.
...The iPhone 3G S is an amazing piece of palm-sized technology. It has everything you could possibly ask of a mobile phone (except Blue-tooth data exchange), and much more! I was shocked at it's ease of use considering its a smart phone! However, although it does have a few new features from its predecessor, the iPhone 3G, but it didn't seem as much of a technological breakthrough considering the transition of the original iPhone to the iPhone 3G, which is one of the reasons I gave it 4, and not 5 stars.
First of all, there is the biggest thing about the iPhone 3G S, is the addition if the S to the title. It stands for speed, and they're not lying. I compared my friends iPhone 3G to my iPhone 3G S, and I noticed how much quicker internet pages load, applications load up, and even basic things like sending a text (which may have been due...
Advantages: Lightweight, good battery life Disadvantages: No shock device biult in for vibrations to enhance gameplay.
...It's a good lightweight controller. It doesn't have the weight that the xbox 360 controller has, which I think is better, but is does the job. The controller also does not give you any vibrations when using it in games, which would have been nice as this adds more realism to gameplay. Another plus to the xbox 306 controller.
It's wireless and uses bluetooth to communicate with the PS3. This works perfectly. Battery life is also very good, you can get around 30 hours gameplay before you need to recharge.
The controller also has motion sensors built into it allowing you on certain games to move the controller instead of the pads to make the car in F1 move from side to side. This is very sensitive and requires patience to master. I think we have all become too used to using the gamepad to move around the screen.
Overall...
