...Despite having a home pc it is sometimes necessary to have access to one when not at home I therefore decided the time had come to invest in a laptop. Like desktops there are numerous makes models and specifications available. Review of Acer Aspire 2920

My Acer 2920, super satisfied

Advantages: Light, Powerful, very good screen for the size, Stylish look, keys feel good
Disadvantages: No built in Bluetooth, Cant find a case to fit it properly, Needs a cigarette lighter charger

...I puchased my Acer 2920 last year (2008) because of its small size and powerful promise.... I needed a pc that was light, very portable & easily stowable as I travel constantly and have to deal with e-mail, manage my database, design advertisements and create flyers while on the move. I use cross channel ferryboats every week and this gives me a lot of time to compute onboard. I made the right choice with the Acer 2920 and I just hope that when i ever have to replace it, I get a laptop as good. I must add, I have had laptops since 1995. I have had two Toscheba's, three IBM thinkpads, and this is my forth Acer laptop. My Acers in my opinion have been better, but I aso appreciate that technology has moved on since my first 386 B/W Tosch ! I carry it about in an old Targus case, because i cant seem to find a snug case that it can fit...

...--Background-- My wife has always moaned that she could never get onto the family PC as it was always being used by either my kids or myself. After doing a bit of research, she convinced me to buy her the Acer Aspire One netbook which she would use for web browsing and writing simple documents. I was a bit sceptical of the device, after all, to me it was just a cheap laptop. But, alas, she won and off I went to Currys armed with my credit card to begrudingly buy her one. --In the box-- The box in which the Aspire comes is very small. You'd be able to fit it under your arm and carry it no problem. Acer aspire one A110

Advantages: Fast and ultra portable
Disadvantages: There is no disadvantage to owning this computer

...I own the 8GB linux version in white. It is cute and compact with a glossy finish. The Aspire One running linux is surprisingly fast considering its 512MB of ram. It is perfect for wirelessly browsing the web using fire fox. The keyboard is just short of full size making it the perfect tool for typing an e-mail or essay whilst out and about. The open office documents can be saved as word, powerpoint or excel documents so they are microsoft compatible. I chose the 8GB version for the increased durability, I have not yet filled the hard drive but when I do there is a storage expansion slot which will take an SD card. The Aspire one is a great little computer well worth its small price tag...

Aspiring to be inspiring! Is this another Ace Acer?

Advantages: SUPERB battery life, relatively portable and very slim.
Disadvantages: For basic and general business use, not games.

...Here we have a very mixed laptop in terms of its features and abilities. Firstly, I want to make clear that the Acer Aspire 4810T is a laptop to consider for business use, or non-graphics-intensive applications such as Word, Excel and standard internet browsing. If you are expecting to be able to play the latest video games and run graphics designer packages, then you'd be better off looking at other laptops with better stats than this one. What it does have in its favour is an increased battery life of around 7 hours, possibly as much as 8 - and a very slim and portable design with a gorgeous 14" screen. It is in a word SEXY!
