ASUS A8V-XE "a great companion for your s939 CPU"
Review of ASUS A8V-XE - motherboard - ATX - K8T890 by  krille282

Advantages: Stability, Overclockingfriendly & also Dirtcheap
Disadvantages: Not really only minor annoyances

...for singlesided & DS for Doublesided, diodes & thermistors are sensors on the motherboard that usually measures temperatures. The overall value/buildquality of this board as with all other ASUS boards I have ever owned is IMO close to flawless. I can highly recommended this s939 pci-e motherboard to any AMD64 s939 CPU/PCI-E graphicscard owners except perhaps the extreme overclockers or those who wants to run dual graphiccards. As I bought this board quite a while ago, so there should probably be newer/better alternatives out now Iīm not sure which ones though. Oh I almost forgot itīs also fully 32/64-bit compatible. (I havenīt tested Vista on it though). Some specs: ( I canīt guarantee them to be 100% correct) ATX Form Factor: 12 in X 8.3 in (30,5 cm X 21 cm) Northbridge: VIA K8T890 Southbridge: VIA VT 8251 Graphics Interface: PCI... Read review

Good all round socket 939 motherboard
Review of ASUS A8N-SLI - motherboard - ATX - nForce4 SLI by  ciao_saqibf

Advantages: Excellent all rounder with too many features to list
Disadvantages: Not great for overclocking

...I have recently become a big fan of Asus products. The first contact i had with them was when i purchased an A8v deluxe motherboard for my pc. At the time, it was the best motherboard available on the market, but this was mainly due to the small number of manufacturers catering for this format. Last month my younger brother pleaded with me to build him a computer which he can use for games, music, internet and all manner of things pc related. As Microsoft are slowly integrating 64 bit capability into almost all of their upcoming software, and 32 bit is being slowly phased out, I decided on starting with a 64 bit system. There are currently 3 formats of 64 bit system available, namely socket 754, socket 940 and socket 939. These 3 formats differ in their chip types and also in their compatability with other components used in the pc... Read review

ASUS M2N-E MY CHOICE MOTHERBOARD, GREAT VALUE.
Review of ASUS M2N-E SLI - motherboard - ATX - nForce 500 SLI by  Hi-Spec-Tek

Advantages: EVERY ADVANTAGE FOR COPING WITH THE VISTA DRAG!!
Disadvantages: I COULD FIND NONE

...Hi, The model here, the ASUS M2N-E has proved itself over the last year. I built several systems using this motherboard and so far it has been well up to ASUS' usual standard and for me it is the natural successor to my previous one (A8N-E). My comments are that on getting my first motherboard box with its numerous bits and pieces, was that you simply had your moneys worth. Ample leads and more. A sinch to assemble and it worked immediately I switched on, and like giving birth (I imagine), it was a relief when it did fire up and the labour was over LOL! There is a great deal of satisfaction from building a PC yourself. The moment you press that button the first time holding your breath or in some peoples cases - looking the other way!! Then the ghasp when the boot-up occurs and everything is "swingin". Yes I have been there more... Read review

ASUS EAX1950PRO"still got some steam inside"
Review of ASUS EAX1950PRO/HTDP by  krille282

Advantages: Fast for a older gen card & stable thx to excellent driversupport
Disadvantages: too expensive compared to newer series of cards

...running @ higher speeds ofc I now enjoys the silence ;). The ASUS EAX1950PRO is in fact an factory overclocked card but the rather short bump in speed from 575MHz to 581MHz on the GPU & from 1375MHZ to 1404MHz on the GDDR3 memory doesnīt impress me @ all, on the bright side it can be overclocked further (voiding warranty)I have reached a maximum of 635/1540 using the ASUS SmartDoctor utility however the performance gains in games were minimal & sometimes making the Average FPS drop too! (I beleive the reason to be a chip on the card that regulates voltages is getting too hot, to be the main cause of the instabilty/OC issues). You can also run this card in crossfire though it requires a "mastercard" that includes the crossfireconnector bridges. (the HD series includes those if I remember it correctly?) + a Motherboard with crossire... Read review

ASUS AM2 M2N32-SLI motherboard
Review of ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe/Wireless Edition AiLifestyle Series - motherboard - ATX - nForce 590 SLI by  cjlight

Advantages: Quality and fast overclocking, great for games
Disadvantages: In the shadow of the Core 2 duo motherboards

...When purchasing my new computer i needed a motherboard that could handle the latest technology and compete with the latest releases. The ASUS M2N32-SLI motherboard fitted within my budget of one hundred pounds and offered a powerful tool for over clocking my components to keep my machine competing with the stresses of new programs and hardware. Fitting the motherboard and installing the other hardware was exactly the same as fitting other motherboards. The ASUS M2N32-SLI motherboard supports the AMD AM2 cpu and thus supports DDR2 ram, this meant that when recycling my old computer i was unable to use the cpu or the RAM and needed to purchase these items again. The passive cooling on the ASUS M2N32-SLI means that no fans are needed to cool the motherboard making it quiet. The motherboard comes with a optional fan which snaps onto... Read review

ASUS A8N-E BEST MOTHERBOARD I EVER USED
Review of ASUS A8N-E - motherboard - ATX - nForce4 Ultra by  Hi-Spec-Tek

Advantages: EVERY ADVANTAGE, SPEED, RELIABILITY, PERFORMANCE. A GREAT ALROUNDER.
Disadvantages: I COULD FIND NONE

...About two years ago or more, I purchased TWO of these ASUS A8N-E motherboards and built up two identical systems. One of these I had been using for up to 16 hours per day and that was over two years of many hours of long and hard usage. I have nothing but praise for this model, the speed and reliability has been exemplary all this time. I run both of my PC's at 3% over-clock all the time but have tried 5% too, this I found made the PC unstable and sometimes it would reboot itself and sometimes not boot up at all but just go in an attempted boot-up in an endless cycle. So I took the Over-clocking NOS down to 3% where it has stayed and has been trouble free. I think it is required that there is good cooling and ventilation. Temperatures were usually near normal but on the odd occasion such as burning a DVD, the temperature of the CPU... Read review

ASUS AMD Athlon Motherboard
Review of ASUS M2NPV-VM - motherboard - micro ATX - GeForce 6150 by  JGK555

Advantages: HDTV output, supports AMDs Cool 'n' Quiet
Disadvantages: Only one lan

...The ASUS M2NPV-VM Motherboard for AMD single-core Athlon 64/ Sempron and Dual-core Athlon 64 X2/ Athlon FX processors using socket AM2 is very user friendly, I went with AMDs 64 x2 3800+ processor in the beginning then moved up to 4200+ 2Gb Ram without any hassle, very easy to setup and fits easily in a standard ATX case. A possible downside to the board is that it has a limited number of slots due to being a micro ATX sized board. That's not a big deal for me as the only two cards I'll be buying in the future is Graphics and a extra Lan card. Board Layout `````````````````` >In the upper right hand corner of the motherboard are the ATX 24 pin power connector, Floppy disk connector, Game/Midi port connector and four DDR2 slots. These DDR2 slots support a maximum memory capacity of 8GB and the frequencies supported is DDR2-800MHz/667... Read review

MSI K7n420Pro nForce Motherboard
Review of MSI MS-6373 - motherboard - ATX - nForce 420-D by  Dave_UK

Advantages: Value for money, competent integrated hardware (especially the sound)
Disadvantages: Geforce2 MX a little dated for todays games

.../USB connectivity for connecting peripherals, and the integrated SoundStorm audio hardware is astounding. You can no doubt pick these up very cheap, so If you are looking for a stable student/family PC platform on a budget with good speed, excellent surround-sound audio playback in DVD's/games, and you play the odd game -then you cannot go wrong with this motherboard. Heartily recommended! Dave. Check it out here: http://www.msicomputer.com/product/detailspec/productdetail.as p?model=K7N420Pro NB. To ensure compatibility with the latest hardware, I recommend updating the BIOS for your motherboard. This is explained on the MSI support section. However, thisis a potentially risky procedure so I suggest you only do it if you get any compatibilty problems. In addition, DO NOT BUY A RADEON 9700Pro. It is not fully compatible with this board... A great ASUS motherboard
Review of ASUS M2N-E SLI - motherboard - ATX - nForce 500 SLI by  joefireline

Advantages: Lots of ports/features, price.
Disadvantages: Slow to pass bois post

...I brought this from ebuyer a few months back, for my new system build. I wanted a motherboard which had plenty of features/ports etc, without braking the bank, and this does just that. With 4 USB port, 7.1 surround sound audio card, 4 rear USB ports + 2 headers, Printer Port, and even 2 PCI-E 16X for SLi and 2 PCI-E and 2 PCI card slots, which is a good use of the slots available, with the PCI-E sure to be used more in the future, with it's smaller and faster slot. So, after unpacking, I found there to be a lot of accessories with this board, keeping up to ASUS's standards. I applied the headers to the case and installed the motherboard easy enough, connected everything up etc. and it was up and running. After setting itself up, I was able to install the operating system. The board had no problem installing the Sata hard drive and disc... Read review
