...I have had problems with internal DVD drives in the past but this one sorted it all out. The Asus DRW1608P is a lovely grey machine and looks just like it does in the picture. the speeds are as follows: 5 x DVD-RAM 8 x DVD+RW 6 x DVD-RW 8 x DVD +/-R (DL) 40 x CD-R 32 x CD-RW Does not lightscribe. As i mentioned this machine can under perform slightly on RW but on the whole its fast and reliable. The best thing about this is it's price - mine cost £35 from a local shop but is available on line from £39. The reason why I chose this model is that it was the most recommended from Computer Shopper coming top of their polls. I have burned quite a few DVDs with this and they have all worked perfectly. ...for sure. I’ve found that signal strength is pretty good although I can only go as far as my living room. This may very well be due to the walls I’ve got in the house. Larger spaces may allow for better signals. The antenna is at the end of a 1m wire thus allowing you to move it about for the best reception. I quite like this in the way that it’s flexible although I think it would be even better if it was even longer (i.e. 2-3 metres) so that I can put it somewhere higher than the top of the PC. That might get me better signals and especially since my PC is on the floor. VERDICT I think you would be better off getting a PCI wireless card even if you have an Asus motherboard that has the Wi-Fi@Home socket. If you were to sell the motherboard and buy a different brand, you would have to sell the card with the Asus you’re selling because... Read review

...This is the first Intel compatible board I've ever bought. After buying AMD for many years, I picked this board with the new Pentium D 805 processor because of the immense overclocking potential. The processor was a mere £79.95 and runs at 2.66Ghz standard. I've overclocked it to 3.4Ghz with no stabililty issues using only fans and heatsinks. Tom's Hardware have reportedly got 4.1+Ghz out of this chip using water cooling..! So, I was confident after buying ASUS motherboards for AMD for years that their Intel boards would be just as good.
