Soft Modding GeForce 6800
Review of ASUS V 9999GT/TD by  Omerali

Advantages: Features and performance
Disadvantages: Found nothing if you know what your doing :P

...I just successfully SoftModded my Asus v9999 Geforce 6800 NU into a GT by opening 4 extra pipe lines as the board used on asus 6800 GT [ 16 pipelines ] was same one used on my normal 6800. By default the 4 extra pipelines were disabled on my agp. Below you will find guide on how to actually softmod and proof-of-concept pictures [ results from my agp tests] Credits go to Author of river tuner: ----------------------------------------------------------------- --- For those of you that haven't heard, it is indeed possible to enable ALL 16 pipelines (and 1 extra Vertex Unit) on a regular GeForce 6800 (as in: non Ultra/non GT). First you must download and install RivaTuner http://www.guru3d.com/rivatuner/ Once RivaTuner is installed, open RivaTuner and go to "customize" (more specifically: the customize button under "Target... ASUS V 9999GT/TD
Review of ASUS V 9999GT/TD by  sshutt

Advantages: 256Mb, AGP 8x, Svideo out, DVI out, Dsub out, blue light
Disadvantages: occasional graphics blip

...I bought this card as part of an ongoing system upgrade, but mostly because my old geForce 3 probably wasnt going to be powerful enough for Doom 3 :) I had a look arround and had to decide between a 6800 or an X800, I decided to go for the 6800 after looking at some benchmarks, then came the decision an ultra or GT as I wanted top of the range, I found the performance gains of the ultra didnt justify the extra cost. Looking arround at the various GT models available I found yet another benchmark site that compaired a few models and after looking at prices and software packs I decided to get this one. There were a few things that influenced my decision, the blue light was one, and I tohught it looked nice. The Card itself is larger than I expected and I had little trouble installing it in my uncles pc for him, a badly... Read review

ASUS AMD Athlon Motherboard
Review of ASUS M2NPV-VM - motherboard - micro ATX - GeForce 6150 by  JGK555

Advantages: HDTV output, supports AMDs Cool 'n' Quiet
Disadvantages: Only one lan

...The ASUS M2NPV-VM Motherboard for AMD single-core Athlon 64/ Sempron and Dual-core Athlon 64 X2/ Athlon FX processors using socket AM2 is very user friendly, I went with AMDs 64 x2 3800+ processor in the beginning then moved up to 4200+ 2Gb Ram without any hassle, very easy to setup and fits easily in a standard ATX case. A possible downside to the board is that it has a limited number of slots due to being a micro ATX sized board. That's not a big deal for me as the only two cards I'll be buying in the future is Graphics and a extra Lan card. Board Layout `````````````````` >In the upper right hand corner of the motherboard are the ATX 24 pin power connector, Floppy disk connector, Game/Midi port connector and four DDR2 slots. These DDR2 slots support a maximum memory capacity of 8GB and the frequencies supported is DDR2-800MHz/667... Read review

Small ASUS, Large features
Review of ASUS U3S 3P092E - Core 2 Duo T7500 2.2 GHz - 13.3" TFT by  hauran

Advantages: GPS, HDMI, eSATA
Disadvantages: loud cooler

...software AsusMap and you will get extern antenna. As i tested in the most case is the internal antenna good enough to have a good signal. Display 13.3" has got 1280x800 resolution that is an average, but there is no need for better resolution since it is a small sized display. Colors are good and display has got a wide range to adjust backlight and there is no problem to use it comfortably on daylight. ASUS EAX1950PRO"still got some steam inside"
Review of ASUS EAX1950PRO/HTDP by  krille282

Advantages: Fast for a older gen card & stable thx to excellent driversupport
Disadvantages: too expensive compared to newer series of cards

...card (Nvidia Geforce 8800GT 512mb perchance?). When I bought this card I immediately replaced it´s standard cooler to an aftermarket (Zalman VF-900, that voids Warranty) & applied AS5 Thermal Paste (note: caution it´s adviceable to use an adhesive/ceramic paste on GPUs & especially when it comes to memorychips, due to the silver particles in the AS5 tp is more likely to transfer current thus causing shortcircuit of the component and/or the components in it´s vincinity!),(ie orig.HS was cluttered with a thick goo of paste & the thermal pads of the mems seemed to me judging by it´s thickness would make the ramchips hotter than without them...no good @ all). The temperatures dropped about 25 degrees celsius compared with the orig. cooler, I kid you not! furthermore as the standard heatsink were pretty loud as to expect with smaller fans... Read review

ASUS P5PE-VM
Review of ASUS P5PE-VM - motherboard - micro ATX - i865G by  djohan

Advantages: Flexible
Disadvantages: -

...Being a personal computer (PC) supplier, I try to find a 'better' product with better price for my consumers. As a fact, consumers would have a good product with reasonable price. ASUS is a well known manufacturer for mainboards. It always gets awards from several PC magazines and institutions. This image gives Asus a high goodwill? This is not my personal opinion, but it comes from my consumers. Awards? Some new PC consumers do not realize that awards are given to CERTAIN PRODUCTS of a manufacturer. As Asus products always gets awards, it does not mean all Asus products are the best. Seeing the fanatic consumers of Asus, and standing at the supplier side, I try to offer my consumers ASUS P5PE-VM mainboard as it offers the most competitive price and it comes with some nice features. SPECIFICATIONS Intel 865G... Read review

May the GeForce be with you
Review of NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 200 by  Del_Boy

Advantages: Fast, Powerful, Inexpensive, Compatable
Disadvantages: Hard to get hold of, Not the fastest card around

...Introduction The GeForce range of cards have been well established in the PC market for many years now. GeForce cards are generally considered to be the very best card for a Computer enthusiast to obtain for many reasons. The main reason is performance, the GeForce cards tend to perform better, and are more compatable than any other card, with excellent driver* support from Nvidia.com (they who design the GeForce chipset). The GeForce range of cards has always had competition,. but in my opinion they are still unsurpassed. Later on in this review I shall mention some of the competitors, and why you should/shouldn't buy a GeForce ahead of them. This review is for the GeForce 3 Ti200 - this is no longer considered a cutting edge card, but is good enough for all but those who demand the very very best performance... Read review

Asus P5VD2-X
Review of ASUS P5VD2-X - motherboard - ATX - PT890 by  djohan

Advantages: Quite Cheap and Supporting Nowadays' Tech.
Disadvantages: Not Found, yet

...Do you plan to buy a new personal computer (PC)? Here is another motherboard from Asus – P5VD2-X. Being an indirect consumer (I am running a PC-Shop), I have built 16 PC using this motherboard since 4 months ago, and none of them returns to me till now. It proves the stability and endurance of this product. Formerly I recommended Asus P5PE-VM which comes with onboard graphic-card and lower price. Both P5PE-VM and P5VD2-X support Intel Core 2 Duo processors, but if you are interested in having a “better” motherboard with a reasonable price rate, I would recommend you to buy P5VD2-X. Why P5VD2-X? First of all, I know most people always remember “Intel Inside“, and “Powered by Asus”. These two slogans are quite effective and make people, usually people who come into my shop asking for the two brands, Intel and Asus as if they knew... Read review
