ASUS Laptop!!!
Review of Asus A7S-7S006C by
martinspurr
Advantages: Great value, State of the art Processor, Built-in Webcam
Disadvantages: Heats up fast, weighs 4Kg
...I recently bought one of these Asus laptops of the A7C Series and for a manufacturer who I had never heard of before I was pleasantly surprised.
With 2GB RAM, 200GB HDD and Intel Core 2 Duo Processor the laptop runs very quickly and you are very unlikely to ever run out of space! The 17" display is ideal for watching DVDs or just for those who like to have a lot on their screens and is very clear and bright compared to others I looked at. The only cost of having a large 17" screen is that there is increased weight, - this laptop weighs in at 4Kg, which isn't bad as some 17" Laptops are upto about 4.5Kg.
The laptop comes equipped with a built-in 1.3MP webcam located above the screen which provides a clear image for 1.3MP and is very useful for IM!!!
Considering that Windows Vista has only been out a few months, the laptop...

Good Laptop, if you don't need asus support
Review of ASUS A6M Q033H - Turion 64 X2 TL-50 - 15.4" TFT by
eltoncds
Advantages: 64bit processor, fast and realible, good battery life
Disadvantages: No Bluetooth, all USB behinde, it used to work a bit warm than intel processors
...I've got this laptop for 2 years, very good pc-replacement,
Very fast when it comes from factory but as you install those thousands of updates to your windows it become very slow, you can sort it out just by making a memory upgrade to 2GB.
But asus support is just waste of time, as I'm waiting for them just 6 months, only to come to my place, collect my laptop and fix a simple overheating problem (just dust inside) and a mini-PCI wireless adapter replacement which is not working very well anymore.
You call them and they say to you go to their website and fill one application of service, always like that, but nobody call you back or have it to fix...

Brilliant laptop
Review of ASUS A6Km Q035H - Turion 64 mobile technology MT-32 1.8 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
Nuclear_darkness
Advantages: Mobile, lightweight, versatile
Disadvantages: Battery life varies, needs hacked video card drivers
...setup wizard and prepared myself for an empty desktop.... not so, it came with all the bits and bobs and bells and whistles installed, with only 1 or 2 programs that I didn't want that needed uninstalling. It also came with Norton anti virus pre installed with a 3 free full trial.
Before I comment on the performance I have to say that laptop on I was already impressed, the USB optio mechanical mouse (plugged in laser mouse to the rest of us) was of superb quality. Also bundled was a full system restore disk which will restore your new Asus back to the state it was the first time you turned it on, a windows XP disk, several disks worth of handy utilities especially one that allows the monitoring of temperature of the core of the laptop and monitoring the speed of the fan. It also came with Nero 6 which is handy for those wanting to burn...

Asus's Solution to Cheap Wireless Networking
Review of ASUS WiFi-b by
Deru
Advantages: Cheap, Easy to set up
Disadvantages: Must have ASUS (Deluxe/Premium) motherboard with Wi-Fi@Home socket, PC must be on to use the wireless
...was installed on that I needed a driver for it so I installed it from the CD provided.
After the installation of the software, Windows asked me whether I want to produce the Windows XP wireless software or the one I just installed. I chose the Asus software and simply went through a wizard and chose the options that suited me. After these steps, the access point was working and I was able to access the Internet from my laptop wirelessly.
There’s also the option to set up WEP security (a type of encryption) so that people outside my house wouldn’t be able to access my network. I set this up but unfortunately I was not able to access the Internet once I had turned this on so I had to turn it off completely so that I could use the thing.
MANUAL
The manual has many clear diagrams to illustrate the different types of uses. It mentions...

Lovely laptop, but buyer beware
Review of ASUS V6J X001P - Core Duo T2500 2 GHz - 15.1" TFT by
Spring280
Advantages: Slimline, BEAUTIFUL, great screen
Disadvantages: Terrible support service, fan runs high, weak case
...I have an earlier version of the ASUS V6J (the V6V), and it is truly a beautiful thing. It is fast, has a great screen, everything works beautifully. The fan does start up quite quickly after use and can be very hot - this can be an issue if you use your laptop on your lap a lot. The chassis is a lovely brushed metal and it has a great shape, but it is not very robust if dropped.
The biggest issue is their repair centre and if I had known then what I know now I definitely wouldn't have bought this laptop. Here's my story and you can judge for yourself...
I dropped my laptop about 3 months ago and it broke the hinge. Definitely my fault but I needed to get it repaired because the wires were exposed. The ASUS repair centre is an outsourced repair company and I have been told that they are not allowed to keep any parts on site...

Small ASUS, Large features
Review of ASUS U3S 3P092E - Core 2 Duo T7500 2.2 GHz - 13.3" TFT by
hauran
Advantages: GPS, HDMI, eSATA
Disadvantages: loud cooler
...ASUS U3S is very well designed. When closed the notebook is whole black, Only on the back side is a silver line. Cover is made from metal and its surface
is smooth and reflects like a mirror. It is nice, but you have to clean it often to keep the effect on:) The sides are hardened by metal so the construction
is strong. Good thing is the leather surface arounf touchpad. The only thing i dislike about this mode are a bigger edges around display.
There are many ports and features inside. On the front side is no connector, on the left Audio, card reader (MMC, SD, MS/Pro), Wifi switcher FireWire, USB, cooling output and S-video.
The back side id filled mostly by battery, on the sides are VGA, modem and LAN. On the right side are the most interesting ports - Express Card, switcher of the graphics card,
two USBs, port for external GPS...

HANDSOME LAPTOP. (not that handsome)
Review of ASUS W5360A-UPW - Pentium M 740 1.73 GHz - 12.1" TFT by
tomi111
Advantages: likeable and portable
Disadvantages: looks not exiting
....
The ASUS is housed in an elegant casing with a design that conceals the indicator LEDs and touchpad control into the charcoal finish. The credibility quotient is boosted even futher by the presence of a seperate mouse- a proper logitech notebook design that connects to a wireless receiver concealed within the laptop itself.
It is a simple but elegant touch that complements the slim design with the nmagnectic catch holding the lid closed. it is only a shade under 30 mm thick and tops the scales at only 1.6kg. That's not the thiniest waistline around, but it does leave room for a DVD /CD-RW drive.
***SPACIOUS DESIGN***
ASUS has enough space for a decent number of other parts wit USB fire wire and audio connections joined by VGR- out, a full size pc card slot and a flash memory card reader. However this is too...

Asus EEE 4G Surf - 900Mhz/512Mb/7" TFT (July 08)
Review of ASUS Eee PC 4G - Celeron M 353 630 MHz - 7" TFT by
cport80
Advantages: Fast boot time, Good connectivity
Disadvantages: Small keyboard, horizontal scrolling, poor webcam
...The Asus EEE is one of those things that you never knew you needed until you get it. I have been so impressed by this tiny machine that I am planning to get my own once I have to give back this one that I borrowed from work. So what exactly is a sub-notebook anyway?
Well the first thing you notice about the EEE is it's size. It's really small & compact yet has a surprising plastic but tough feel to it. You could be forgiven for thinking that someone got hold of their standard sized laptops and used a shrink-ray on it. The screen measures just six inches by three-and-a-half and has built-in
speakers at either side and a webcam at the top for video conferencing. I must admit the only pictures I've got from this cam are 320x240 pixels which look tiny even on the EEE's screen. The main keyboard is small as you would expect. Well...

asus eee - web and work
Review of ASUS Eee PC 4G - Celeron M 353 630 MHz - 7" TFT by
callumkemp755
Advantages: fast internet connection (inbuilt wireless)
Disadvantages: simple games, low memory
...of the laptop. The quality of the camera isn't great, but good for messenger which is already software on the asus.
Settings:
This is where software can be updated and installed from the internet. You've also got the ability to install printers, change time and anti virus settings. The laptop also has a voice activated control which needs to be enabled, and works about 60% of the time and certainly isn't perfect.
Overall i think this is a good laptop for specific purpose of high internet utilisation, and able to get on with limited extra instillations (unless you install windows), a small typing pad and no cd drive. Its great for web browsing and work, not great for gaming. I would buy this, but try and get the higher internal memory or buy an external hard drive, the material made with looks slightly tacky in white, I would go for the black...
