P5N32 SLi - Deluxe Motherboard
Review of ASUS P5N32-SLI Deluxe - motherboard - ATX - nForce4 SLI Intel by
Jon_Farrimond
Advantages: Good quality, good build, high end specifications.
Disadvantages: Funny little heatsinks.
...Asus P5N32 SLi Deluxe nForce 4 Motherboard
It would be possible to go on forever about this device, but I intend to keep the techno babble to a minimum. Or at least that's the plan. As such I'm going to go through the main features in detail and then talk a little bit about the other bits.
The motherboard is very well designed and if anyone is interested comes with a slick black finish to the PCB (printed circuit board) and some interesting heatsinks draped across the board.
The first thing I thought when I saw these heatsinks was 'bugger'. They look pretty and they mean that you have no whiney little 40mm fans on the board (the smaller the fan the more high pitched the noise it produces, generally you can get fans between 12mm and 180mm). This cleaver design of heatsink also allows for the mounting of optional fans that come...

It's the SLI of the tiger
Review of ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe - motherboard - ATX - nForce4 SLI by
dfjericho
Advantages: SLI. AMD64 bit goodness, DDR memory still used, Hypertransport, Hardware Firewall, Cable testing ports
Disadvantages: New PSU needed for 24 pin ATX and PCI-E power, BIOS updates required
...oops, I did it again with such a SAD title that half the readers of this small review on the newest Nvidia chipset based motherboard for the AMD64 socket 939 platform, have probably closed their browsers in disbelief.
It was Just around the Christmas/New Year I decided that frankly my old XP3200+ based system could no longer cut the mustard so to speak, so off I went ( once I had been paid ) and bought nearly a complete system based around the Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe. As far as motherboards go, I only really like to use 2 of the well-known brands which are Abit and Asus. According to our Abit contact we have at work, would not have an SLI motherboard out for "quite a few months" I had only the Asus range to choose from.
Now I was torn between a new PCI-E based platform or an older based AGP system - and I thought seeing as SLI...

ASUS AM2 M2N32-SLI motherboard
Review of ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe/Wireless Edition AiLifestyle Series - motherboard - ATX - nForce 590 SLI by
cjlight
Advantages: Quality and fast overclocking, great for games
Disadvantages: In the shadow of the Core 2 duo motherboards
...When purchasing my new computer i needed a motherboard that could handle the latest technology and compete with the latest releases. The ASUS M2N32-SLI motherboard fitted within my budget of one hundred pounds and offered a powerful tool for over clocking my components to keep my machine competing with the stresses of new programs and hardware.
Fitting the motherboard and installing the other hardware was exactly the same as fitting other motherboards. The ASUS M2N32-SLI motherboard supports the AMD AM2 cpu and thus supports DDR2 ram, this meant that when recycling my old computer i was unable to use the cpu or the RAM and needed to purchase these items again.
The passive cooling on the ASUS M2N32-SLI means that no fans are needed to cool the motherboard making it quiet. The motherboard comes with a optional fan which snaps onto...

Top quality SLi motherboard
Review of ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe - motherboard - ATX - nForce4 SLI by
telnet247
Advantages: SLI, price, feature rich
Disadvantages: Comparitively expensive
...Asus has consistently produced top-quality products offering both superior quality and features. The A8N-SLi Deluxe is no exception to this and offers a host of overclocking and other features and excellent build quality.
Installation of components onto the board is a relatively simple matter and thanks to Asus' Stack Cool 2 and the heat pipe system the board is incredibly efficient at dissipating heat.
However, the one problem I did have with the board was that the onboard Realtek sound card was a little tempormental with the bundled drivers and would not install at all on Vista. Fortunately, this is easily fixed by downloading the latest drivers from Asus' website.
In all this is a superb quality, feature packed, product from a manufacturer with a reputation for quality and service. If you are looking for a high...

Another top quality ASUS product
Review of ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe - motherboard - ATX - nForce4 SLI X16 by
Dave1508
Advantages: Phenomanal performance, quality, ease of install
Disadvantages: Expensive
...When it comes to motherboards I generally stick to the top 3 manufacturers Abit ASUS or Gigabyte. So it was with this product.
I had used the DFI-LAn party board for a few months, and with the range of BIOS options it became a bit of a nightmare when overclocking (Escpecially if you are a bit of a novice). So I opted for this beast with its true 16x SLI capability, and passive cooling.
I've got it installed with a thermaltake Bigwater 745 water cooler on top of a 3800+ dual core chip, and dual Leadtek 7800GT's. With 2Gb of Hyper X memory, anything you throw at it is a breeze.
The BIOS is one of the AI life series, so if you are an overclocking novice, it has presets from 3 to 20%+, which will take care of all the voltages and FSB multipliers. However as with all these boards if you are beyond a novice you have plenty of manual options...

ASUS P5N-E SLI - motherboard - nForce 650i SLI
Review of ASUS P5N-E SLI - motherboard - ATX - nForce 650i SLI by
jontiff
Advantages: cheap overclocking abilities gd looking build quality highly upgradable
Disadvantages: asus wbsite very slow when wanting to dl updates
...if you are looking to upgrade your pc for gaming on a tight budget this is the best place to start for £70 you deffinatley get your moneys worth with all the features included
i bought mine when they was first released it was buggy but once the bios was updated all was fine
this board is the heart of one of my kick ass machines and that is exactly what it will do
This Motherboard is certified for SLI use
my only bad point
asus website very slow when wanting to download updates
why pay £150 for a striker extreme when this is half that
p.s my freind has the striker and i dont feel a diference at all apart from the striker boots up slower too much junk in its bios
the p5n is stripped to the core for performance all unneeded removed
it is easy to install and set up with good istructions to do so
and will even fit...

ASUS FOR THE WIN
Review of ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe - motherboard - ATX - nForce4 SLI X16 by
SirWritealot
Advantages: cheap enough for the budget buyer with all the best features
Disadvantages: none that come to mind
...i am a massive fan of all things ASUS
but i still look at there products in the same level of detail as any other brand
the first thing you notice when getting your motherboard is the quality of the packaging it is placed inside a strong anti-static packaging which is then inside a rather thick cardboard box with an outer (thinner) sleeve
it comes with all the relevant cables and bits you would need
including but not limited to :
sata data cables, ide data cables ,and a handy southbridge cooling fan(optional install)
once i had powered my PC up after installing this new board i was soon appreciating the advantages of full 16x sli
i was using 2x 7900gt's on a motherboard which did not allow for full throttle sli
and the difference is noticeable
the overall quality of the motherboard is astounding
it comes...

ASUS A8V-XE "a great companion for your s939 CPU"
Review of ASUS A8V-XE - motherboard - ATX - K8T890 by
krille282
Advantages: Stability, Overclockingfriendly & also Dirtcheap
Disadvantages: Not really only minor annoyances
...So good folks what we have here is a very stable, overclockfriendly & overall excellent s939 motherboard, considering the low pricetag + it has all the features you should need (SATA2 support & RAID etc.) unless if you want to go SLI/Crossfire and/or other fancy deluxe feats. as Firewire & such
edit: SLI is having 2 of exactly the same graphicscards from NVIDIA connected to each other via a bridge connector & Crossfire is the same but instead of NVIDIA cards, its AMD/ATI cards. SATA2 is a newer standard that doubles the data transfer speed from 150MB/s to 300MB/s on harddisks that have that utilizes that interface (most newer does)
RAID is used when having 2 or more of exactly the same harddisks to make them run faster by mirroring them, or to prevent datalosses (i´m not sure which one to use, however RAID0 ,RAID1, RAID0+1 RAID 5...

Good all round socket 939 motherboard
Review of ASUS A8N-SLI - motherboard - ATX - nForce4 SLI by
ciao_saqibf
Advantages: Excellent all rounder with too many features to list
Disadvantages: Not great for overclocking
...I have recently become a big fan of Asus products. The first contact i had with them was when i purchased an A8v deluxe motherboard for my pc. At the time, it was the best motherboard available on the market, but this was mainly due to the small number of manufacturers catering for this format.
Last month my younger brother pleaded with me to build him a computer which he can use for games, music, internet and all manner of things pc related. As Microsoft are slowly integrating 64 bit capability into almost all of their upcoming software, and 32 bit is being slowly phased out, I decided on starting with a 64 bit system. There are currently 3 formats of 64 bit system available, namely socket 754, socket 940 and socket 939. These 3 formats differ in their chip types and also in their compatability with other components used in the pc...
