More reasons to shop at Morrisons!
Advantages: Good offers.
Disadvantages: Too many tempting treats!
...I never had a Morrisons close by but I would occasionally get to go with other people to do a shop and I always loved shopping here, but then recently my local supermarket was replaced by a Morrisons and I was very pleased as I preferred it to the supermarket that was originally there. My weekly shopping bill greatly reduced which was a real bonus. The supermarket felt bigger and offered more choice. I have been shopping here for a couple of years now however the prices have gone up dramatically in the past couple of months due to the economical climate.
The store layout has remained the same but has had a few changes but then has gone back to the same standard layout of most supermarkets. I can?t quite understand why they put the fruit and Veg. to the front of the store as this always leaves me rearranging my food in my trolley...

An inside view of working for Morrisons.
Advantages: Good perks, good working conditions, good progression possibilities.
Disadvantages: Job can be tough mentally and physically.
...This being my first ever review of anything, please bear with me!
I have read with keen interest the reviews posted on this website with regards to working for the supermarket Morrisons. As a review is a personal experience in relation to a product or service I thought I would add my voice.
I have worked for Morrisons for a little over 2 years. I started on the nightshift working five out seven nights totalling 39 hours per week. I worked on the grocery department and for the most part had set aisles to work, thus meaning I was in control of those aisles - ordering, merchandising, presentation etc. To me this makes complete sense as you quickly get used to layouts, stock levels/requirements, rather than working random aisles where you cannot get a feel for the job. Deliveries come in during the day and when the nightshift starts it...

Morrisons Supermarket : Not the best, but not the worst
Advantages: Convenient, some cheap prices, some fairly good food, good fish counter
Disadvantages: Some food past use-by date, a few of the staff off with the fairies
...My closest Morrisons is situated along London Road, Hadleigh, Essex, about halfway (on the north side of the road) between the old Waggon & Horses big roundabout, and Hadleigh Church.
It is, by modern-day standards, a medium-sized supermarket made of terracotta colour brickwork which from the outside looks clean, bright and very appealing (I'd hazard a guess that it was built sometime during the early to mid-1990s, judging by the architectural style).
Outside the front of the store there is a large car park which I believe is free to Morrisons' customers, a small taxi pickup point (though you have to phone for a taxi yourself as it isn't a rank), and a paved area where there are different sized trolleys, some with child seats on the front. To use a trolley, you have to put a £1 coin into that irritating little slot, then release...

The hell of Morrisons
Advantages: Easy to get a job, anyone can work there.
Disadvantages: Anyone can work there, looks bad on CV after a while, management, pay, company policies.....
...Well, to start, I am currently an unwilling prisoner of a Morrisons store in the Salford area of Manchester. I took the job on out of desperation, and also because I wrongly thought that with my pretty decent academic, vocational and professional qualifications, something would turn up soon. I was wrong. To anyone thinking of getting a job there, for whatever reason, bear one thing in mind. Once the word Morrison's sullies your CV, no excuse will atone for it, and you will always be viewed as a knucklehead by any other potential employer.
Working at Morrisons is not a pleasant experience. There is always a mini crisis in progress, which is almost always down to understaffing or supply problems (the suppliers at Wakefield, being owned by Morrisons, are also horribly overworked). The management are generally arrogant, patronising...

The reasons I shop at Morrisons
Advantages: Some good bargains
Disadvantages: Too big and long queues
...The main reason I shop at Morrison's, and an extremely good one, is that my son works at a Morrison's warehouse and has a '10%' discount card! Obviously this makes shopping there so much cheaper.
The special offers that Morrison's have each week is another reason. They have many 'buy one get one free' offers. More recently Morrisons have been promoting 8 items for 50p each at vastly discounted prices.
They stock many unusual cooking ingredients. I wanted to make some onion bhajees and needed some 'gram flour' and went round all the other supermarkets and couldn't find it. However, when I went to Morrison's I was able to find it there.
I like their household and gardening sections and I can often pick up bargains there. Recently I bought 4 steak knives for just £1. Their energy saving light bulbs are often on offer too. They...

Three Cheers for Morrisons
Advantages: Excellent offers instore
Disadvantages: Company slow to modernise
...I am writing this as both a regular shopper at Morrisons and a member of staff.
Morrisons is a company which has grown steadily since its first big store in the 1960s. It has kept to its original values by giving exceptional value for money and continues to do so, despite fierce competition from other market leaders. Stores are modern but different in style, so as to match the surrounding environment. The layout inside tends to be similar across all stores, with the grocery section in front as you enter the store. To the side, you have the fish counter, the salad bar (where you can help yourself to various salad mixes), the delicatessen and rotisserie. As you walk on past oven fresh, you have the cake shop and bakery. At the far end of the store, you have frozen food.
Morrisons offers a wide range, from the everyday essentials to...

Morrisons - The Very Best for Less
Advantages: clean, cheaper, good range
Disadvantages: -
...As a rule I do most of my shopping at Tesco as it it closer to my home, however earlier last week, I took a trip to my Morrisons which is closer to where I work and was amazed to see that it had been through a great refurbishment. I have always liked Morrisons but always found there stores to be a little bit dull. The produce I have always found to be good but just the stores in general just put me off a little. I have been to others across the country too and they were somewhat the same, so I'm not sure whether they have all gone through this refurbishment too.
In addition, I don't think it is just refurbishment, although I haven't seen anything as such in the media but I think our Morrisons has actually rebranded giving themselves this whle new look to portray excellence. They have also had a new logo, which I think is slightly...

The Meldrew's Go To Morrisons
Advantages: Some staff are better than others.
Disadvantages: Most don't seem to care much.
...Mainly due to the wide range of goods for sale, I prefer to shop at my local Tesco. However as my nearest Tesco is 5 miles away, and my nearest Morrisons is only 2 miles, I tend to shop once a week at Tesco, on Tuesdays, and top up from Morrisons if necessary.
My local Morrisons used to be a Safeways until recently. Safeways range of goods wasn't as wide as my local Tesco, but Morrisons stock even less of the brands I prefer, in the same amount of space.
Another thing I find annoying is that Morrisons seem to be on an economy drive with the number of carrier bags they want customers to use. I don't want the smell of things like toiletries mixed with my food, or any blood that might leak from fresh meat getting on other things, especially those I am planning to eat raw. Even if I wasn't fussy about such things, the allocation...

morrisons
Advantages: quite cheap and they do bargains like buy one get one free.
Disadvantages: do not do home delivery.
...We live near to morrisons as its about 5 minutes distance in the car. Its a fairly big store and always has the food that you want. There has never been a time when i wanted something and they did not have it. In morrisons it all set out so you know where everything is and on the ceiling above the isles is what is down each one, so if you did not know where something was just look at the signs and it tells you. There are always doing offers at morrisons, for example, buy one get one free or buy 2 and get the 3rd one free, which i think is a really good bargain. You never seem to wait long either in the checkouts as they have that many, which is good as i hate queueing anyway. As well as food morrisons also sell stationery, albums, video's and garden furniture, so they have a wide variety of things really. I find morrisons quite cheap...

More Reasons To Shop At Morrisons
Advantages: BOGOF, Offers, Clean, Good Layout, Suitable Parking
Disadvantages: Not enough stores
... Where Are Morrisons?
You will probably see Morrisons more frequently in your national tabloid paper or on the television more frequently than anywhere else as the advertise their 2 4 1 bargains with national celebrities such as Alan Hansen, Lulu and Gabby Logan, or in the paper with 2 shopping trolleys bulging with goodies, twice as many as their competitors.
My local Morrisons is in Basingstoke. They are not as common a sight as Tesco or Sainsbury's and they do not have the smaller convenience stores over running the country, but they have superstores packed to the rafters with everything you could possibly need in your house hold shop and they are the 4th leading UK supermarket.
My most recent experience of Morrisons and the one I write of was following a move into a new flat away from my parents. My flat mate and I took...
