256 MB Crysis crucher
Review of Sapphire RADEON HD 2600PRO by tartupets

Advantages: alot of features and power
Disadvantages: lack of analog output

...ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro is the perfect graphics adapter for the budget gamer. This card is in my system consisting of Gigabyte M52L-S3 with the AMD Athlon 64 3500+ and with 2 GB of DDR2 singelchannel RAM. In this setting, I have the standard 256 mb shared to 512 mb, with the top of 1 GB. This card is very fast. In my processor review, the fps shown for these games are done with this card. Only drawback is the lack of analog output. There are two HDMI outputs and a s-video, so you can hook up 2 HD TV sets. I tested it with two 32" HD screens and the card played a 2K film without any lag and distortion. Currently, I have a 19" widescreen LCD on it and it runs anything smooth and undistorted. My only problem is with 128 bit memory interface. As I use solid edge and other editing programs, this is not as smooth and fast as expected... Read review

Nice budget card for vista
Review of Sapphire RADEON HD 2600PRO by 0602409

Advantages: Huge VGA ram, Runs vista aero smoothly
Disadvantages: NOT a gamers card, but will handle light gaming

...This is a good Card for Vista because of its 512mb of VGA ram. I was taken by surprise when games woudnt run that much faster than on the card that this card was designed to replace (x1600pro) so I am slightly disappointed, but keeping in mind this is a budget/value card, this isnt soo bad. Was very easy to install and drivers are very nice to work with. VERY quiet after a weeks of use, people will experience a high noise output for the first weeks of use, and they may tell you about this, but this is only because the thermal compound under the cooler needs to settle to make the cooling fan and heatsink as efficient as its going to be. After a week of use(not constant use), the fluctuating fan settles down (perminently) and remains very quiet and only noticable at start up. HD 3850 should be considered over this card!!!... Dell Inspiron 530 22" LCD
Review of Dell Inspiron 530 - Pentium Dual Core E2140 1.6 GHz - 17" TFT by richooooo

Advantages: Cheap,Can be made to users Specs,Quiet
Disadvantages: Motherboard not having enough connections PS2 IDE Small PSU

...quiet and you can hardly tell that the thing it turned on. I got this system made off the dell website and the specs for the comuputer are as follows: Intel® Viiv™ Core™ 2 Duo processor (2.66GHz, 1333MHz, 6MB cache 2gb DDR2 SDRAM 250GB Sata Hard Drive DVD ReWriter (SATA) 256MB ATI® Radeon™ HD 2600 XT Windows Vista Home Basic I didnt like Windows Vista on this Computer as i wanted it for games so i put Windows XP Pro onto it. The Graphics card is not excellent but it handles Battlefield 2 on medium Quality settings,I wouls say that the graphics card is the worst thing that dell have put into this pc. Dell Have only put a 300Watt power Supply in to this tower but it is very quiet so i am happy for now.I Will probably have to upgrade the PSU when i get a better graphics card. The motherboard is Intel g33 Chipset and it only has SATA... Read review

AGP - Dead but not forgotten?
Review of Sapphire RADEON HD 2400PRO by emilne82

Advantages: AGP Interface, DX10. No additonal power conectors, Very quite.
Disadvantages: Very very poor driver support

...are Direct X10 compliant, making them the ideal choice to use on a Windows Vista machine. However due to their ability to decode high definition media content without using the computers main CPU, and along with their silent fans and low power ratings they also make great choices for many home theatre pc. But best of all they are available on the "old" AGP bus interface. This is why I purchased the Radeon 2400Pro AGP card. My HTPC is not exactly cutting edge technology in fact, most of the components inside it is about 5years old. In IT times scales it's a dinosaur. Purchasing new hardware for this wrinkly beast was almost a no no, the AGP bus has now been replaced by the much newer PCI interface. But then ATI released the Radeon AGP HD2XXXX serires of cards. Expectations for these cards were high; the rumour mill was abundant with story... Read review

VGA card for Gaming
Review of Sapphire RADEON X1950 XT by rouzbeh_am

Advantages: Fast and quiet. Dual DVI. No compatibility problem with games. Very fast.
Disadvantages: No DX10 support.

...256mb of RAM which is enough for all of the new games. But it is not supporting DX10. In July 2007, X1950XT series was chosen by the famous TomsHardware website as one of the best gaming cards around. So, if you are not going to pay your valuable money on DX10 supporting cards (which the good ones are at least 150 USD more expensive), this VGA card is what you want. However, I even recommend this card more than ATI 2600 series which supports DX10. I have seen a very low performance in gaming by the newly arrived 2600 cards. This card generates quite low amount of noise although it enjoys a big cooling system. If you are thinking about X1950XT vs 1950Pro, I would recommend X1950XT, since it enjoys a newer technology and delivers about 10%-15% better performance. Note: You will be needing a very powerful power supply unit (PSU... Read review

Best value in the mainstream market
Review of MSI RX1950PRO-T2D256E by neo1983

Advantages: Best price/performance ratio, great conectivity and features
Disadvantages: No Directx10 support

...Despite the fact that high end products from ATI losses to NVIDIA at the performance levels, ATI has some nice products in the mainstream market and this video card MSI RX1950PRO-T2D256E is my best example. I own this card for about two months and I'm very satisfied of my aqusition. This card has a lot number of advantages that really worth to be mentioned: * The price is insane for this level of performance * Performance is just great with all quality settings enabled, I play all games with max quality settings 6xAA, and 16x anisotropic *CrossFire now with simple internal connector *HDTV output, for HD future movies *36 pixel shaders and 12 vertex shaders, quite a reserve of performance for future games *3 years warranty Small disadvantages: * no Directx 10 support, but is my opinion that all future games(1-2 years) will support... Sapphire RADEON 9600 Atlantis Pro 256MB
Review of Sapphire RADEON 9600 Atlantis Pro by KnowledgeBase

Advantages: Great Value, Relaible
Disadvantages: No as good as 9800 series

...to 325mhz of the 9600 or 500 mhz for the xt. I find that the card has more kick that most of those cheap ones placed in ready made machines or onboards(motherboard). The card has the following interfaces: 1 x DVI-I - 29 pin combined DVI 1 x VGA - 15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15) 1 x composite video output - RCA The card is sold in a lite retail pack and so comes with ATI HydraVision software and Catalyst Control centre from which you can manage your graphics and video cards settings. It was easy to install, simply slot it into you agp slot and away you go. There are many guides on the internet so just search one out if you need advice for fitting. I would recommend this card to those of you that want the next best thing after standard video cards that come with pre-builds as it is relatively in-expensive (68pounds in nov 04) handles most... Heavy entertaiment laptop
Review of HP Pavilion HDX by hauran

Advantages: Wide range of features, futuristic design
Disadvantages: heavy

...thing is huge display 20.1" WSXGA+ Ultra Widescreen. With resolution 1680x1050 is impossible to reach the real 1080p HD, but you will find this resolution on majority on the 20.1" displays. Display is sharp and bright and the BrightView feature is great for playing video or games. As i mentioned this device is the home cinema as well. HDMI is included as necessary port especially when u want HD DVD. Extern SATA port is very usable because you can add the second disc if the inbuilt 240GB will not be sufficient. I recommand to buy HDX with CPU Core 2 Extreme because this chip is ulocked for overclocking. This can spare a lot of money because you are able to increase the power of your laptop. The ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT supports DirectX10, and is one of the first for laptops. Baterry serves more as an backup becauce it cad run only... Read review

Review of Apple Power Mac G4 Cube - PPC G4 450 MHz by Tygier

Advantages: compact, looks great, G4
Disadvantages: price

...The cube is the latest product from Apple. It is a G4 supper computer in a 8inch cube. There are two models, one with a G4 450, 64MB RAM and 20GB HD and one with G4 500, 128MB RAM and 30GB HD. Both have DVD, USB, Firewire, 16MB ATI Rage 128 pro and 10/100 BaseT ethernet. They also ship with the new optical mouse, new keyboard and Harmon Kardon USB speakers. This machine looks fantastic (see the apple web site for pics) it is a white cube suspended in a clear case. on the top is a slot load DVD drive and an air vent. There is no fan so it is silent (apple claim only 19 decibels). The insides are easy to acsess by flipping the machine over and lifting them out. You can install 1.5 GB of RAM (if you have £3000). It also has the new monitor connector which carries signal power and USB in one lead, but is only compatibly with the new apple... Read review

ASUS EAH2900XT/G/HTVDI review
Review of ASUS EAH2900XT/G/HTVDI by neo1983

Advantages: Great speed, efficient cooling system, impressive specifications
Disadvantages: High power consumption, 8800 GTX is faster

...;◄◄ After I tested a monster from NVIDIA - ASUS EN8800GTX AquaTank/HTDP I really wanted to see how the competition like ATI can handle the stress and manage to compeat against NVIDIA. While this is a great product with great performance and specifications this is the first time from many years, since the great Radeon 9700pro (R200), when ATI losses the crown performance even with a new product launched. While the card specifications surpasses those of NVIDIA 8800 GTX, the performance is lower. Perhaps the drivers are the ones to blame. ►►►Package, bundle and accessories◄◄◄ When I arrived at home I opened the great box that contain all the bundle and accessories and I had a little surprise. I rarely have the opportunity to see so many accessories in the same box. Great job ASUS for delivering all this useful... Read review
