ATI Rage 128 Fury Video Display Adapter
Review of ATI RAGE FURY by  Trev1000

Advantages: well priced and bundled with utils
Disadvantages: none

...A great quality easily affordable video graphics display card for a PC. I have used the ATI range of cards for over 3 years now and have never had reason to complain. The picture quality is and has been always superb, and when it comes to installation, it’s a breeze. The manufacturer offers excellent support with both online documentation and with instructions that come with the product. On top of this most of their hardware comes with additional software that can be used for many other things. For example with 128 fury the hardware is fitted with an output that you can connect to a TV or Video source with easy to follow instruction and software that makes viewing DVD films really simple. Even more than that, the software basic package gives you other utilities for playing Cds midis etc. The ATI range are fully compatible... Read review

Yeah baby Yeah
Review of ATI RAGE IIC by  robinson1010

Advantages: Good features for 2D
Disadvantages: not 3D

...I recently brought this card of a mate. Only for a small sum of £10, so i plugged it in my pc and connect onto to the internet to download the approproate drivers and did so, then installed them. Card has in the title Rage 3D + DVD, so you think it is gonna be a 3D Card with DVD caperbilities. Well that is a no no... The card is a quality 2D card with no 3D capebilities, alothough i cant complain for £10. The card has excellent option for a 2D card, with pan adjust refresh rate adjust, and many many more features.... Read review

MAXX is not the word
Review of ATI RAGE FURY by  thepanther

Advantages: cheap for the type pf card
Disadvantages: Not as good as it should be

...The Rage Fury MAXX looked like it was going to be one of those cards that go straight to the top of the market because it was offering the best components, the fastest components and the most memory on board. A whopping 64Mb RAM built onto the board seemed very appealing. It would aswell with a price tag of around $200. However the card just does not reach the level of performance its supposed to. The Dual Rage 128 pro Processors dont seem to work very well together. Its a certainty that you dont get double the performance of single rage fury 128 pro 32Mb. The so called ATI MAXX technology which I presume is the technology which makes the processors work together cant be that good. You cant take power away from the processor and having more memory can only be a good thing, so it must be down to the way the card is driven. Maybe... Read review

Very Stable Graphics Card - Dual Rage Fury's
Review of ATI RAGE FURY by  WormySqurmy

Advantages: Very stable card. 64MB
Disadvantages: Not the most powerful card - but who needs one.

...This was the second graphics card that I have bought and have had no problems with it. I bought it from Watford Electronics website for £100 because it was a special deal (almost half price). The card has a dual ATI Rage fury chipset with 64MB. The first card I got was a Rage fury (check out my opinion of it) and so I knew the card would be good enough for me. It is not the most powerful card but it has been very reliable. The card is not as much a powerful card, but a very stable one. Because of the dual chipsets you will be able to run the same graphics as the rage fury but you be assured that there won’t be any problems with the running. Push way over the ability of the original and you may find that the card struggles. If your not into the most 3D graphical games and prefer the brilliant strategy games like StarCraft you... Stonking card - 3Dfx and Nvidia fans watch out
Review of ATI RADEON DDR by  CyrixDes

Advantages: excellent performance, good specs
Disadvantages: probably be expensive on initial release

...ATI have always had a reputation as the nearly boys of the video card market. They have always been able to produce reasonably cheap video cards, with excellent DVD playback and TV Out facilities, in fact the best video cards for DVD playback are ATI cards. However whilst releasing cards like the Rage Fury MAXX, theyve always been a couple of months too late in terms of releasing their cards in comparison with the competition. However I have it on very good advice that theyve made the break through with their new 64Mb ATI Radeon DDR. I have seen a number of interesting benchmarks pitting this card against the Voodoo 5 5500, a couple of GeForce 2's and a GeForce DDR 256. Before summarising these results I ask you to remember that the ATI card is on its first release, non tweaked drivers, whereas the GeForce cards are using NVIDIAS... Read review

Best value for money
Review of ATI All-In-Wonder Pro by  carlossus

Advantages: Value for money and excellent picture quality with fast peformance
Disadvantages: Difficult or impossible to install on some operating systems

...I have been using the ATI All In Wonder Pro AGP with 8MB RAM, and using ATI's Rage Pro chipset for over a year now. As a Windows VGA card it is fast in both 2D and 3D modes, but I wouldn't recommend it for 3D games as the card is aimed more at Good all round performance with the bonus of having TV and video editing on a PC. For the price, I would say it is the best card for a home user to start editing videos because if you get bored with editing videos then you are still left with a brilliant video card and thus haven't wasted your money. I have not had any problems with it under Windows 95, 98 or 98SE. Installation is easy, and it drives my 20" monitor at 1024 resolution in full colour mode at 85 Hz with plenty of room for more! On the down side (for non -Windows users) I am unable to use it with my OS/2 Warp Connect version 3 system... Read review

Review of MAXDATA Pro 650T - PIII 600 MHz - 14.1" TFT by  nickcollins

Advantages: cheap, good spec
Disadvantages: nothing great, could be a bit better screwed together

...Basicaly a good system, more towards the value end of the market, my only real critisism is the power button which feels cheap. Overall though a very good system, nothing close for the price (around £1,200) The screen (14.1" TFT) is clear and sharp, backed by an 8mb ati rage card, 64mb ram and 6gig hdd. UK web page is poor to say the least, best bet is germany which has an FTP with most drivers etc you may require. If you want to use the hibernate function do this first as it is not pre instaled and requires fdisk.... Read review

Great Picture Quality
Review of Apple Studio Display 17 by  freecashuk

Advantages: Crisp Picture, More Deskspace, Stunning Design
Disadvantages: Non that I can think of!

...What a great monitor this is! The LCD display gives a very crisp picture indeed, and the colour reproduction is also very good. The screen can display resolutions of 640x480, 800x600 (default) and 1024x768. I have my monitor connected to a G4 500Mhz Macintosh and it has given me no problems at all. When I first got it I noticed how sharp the picture is compared to a CRT display, an now a CRT display just looks out of focus in comparison. The Studio Display uses a Digital interface to connect to my Mac, however, as the G4 comes with a ATI Rage 128pro graphics card which has a digital output on it, this was not a problem. The other great thing about this monitor is that I have regained about 2square feet of deskspace.... Read review

Need to do lots of things
Review of ATI All-In-Wonder Pro by  messes

Advantages: Got just about everything
Disadvantages: Getting old now, has a big brother now

...The ATI All-in-Wonder Pro PCI is an old card, however it currently comes in two versions, the older PCI with 16MB of memory or the newer 32MB AGP card. Both cards have the same features the only differences being the amount of memory and the slot. AGP or PCI for those of you who want TV input and output but your computer doesn't have a AGP slot then the PCI version is the way to go. This card does nearly everything you could want the card to do. It outputs to the TV via S-video and composite, you can record off the TV or VCR. It allows you to watch TV on your computer. It comes with video editing programs. I use this card to watch DVDs on a 28" TV and the quality is amazing. The only thing this card can't do is play Quake 3 at top res. High demand 3D gaming is beyond this card. If you want that get the new ATI card. Added 07/2001 RAGE... Read review
