Atlantis: The Lost Empire - A great movie for all ages.

Advantages: Great voice-acting and plot.
Disadvantages: Some plot holes and predictable ending.

I'm a big fan of the Disney cartoons, especially the movies with a bit of singing in them but I decided to watch Atlantis even though there wasn't a group of singing mice or Princesses in it. A cartoon about the lost city of Atlantis seemed too interesting to miss, especially since it was created by Disney. I wasn't disappointed either. ...Righty ho, back with the program now people, no more of those technology reviews back to reviews which relate to the ocean! In this book as with many others the characters embark on a journey to try and find the legendary city of Atlantis. In Davidf Gibbins story, we are introduced to firstly Solon the LawMaker, then after the prologue we are taken to the modern era. Here we meet our main characters Jack Howard and Costas Kazantzakis. The pair are aboard the Seaquest on a marine archaeology project as part of their duties for the International Marine University where Jack is a historian and Costas head of the technology dept. From a series of random and seeming unlinked discoveries both on land and at sea they find themselves on the trail of a great historical mystery, and ultimately on a dangerous quest to get to the end...

The 'BOX' from Atlantis

Advantages: Duel opening, well made - fantastic space maker
Disadvantages: Large cog style nuts inside take up too much room

...I have borrowed this roof box off a friend a few times now, and have finally invested in a roof box of my own... But not the Atlantis! Let me tell you why....... Ok, I like the Atlantis, it is spacious and well made, but it has one big down side - The system used for attaching the box to the roof bars is very big and clumpy. Inside the box there are 4 large - and I do mean large - cog style keys that are used to tighten the claws that hold on to the bars. Ok, the claw design is fantasic, it gives you the flexibility to move the box very quickly, but the cogs inside the box take up far too much space. We tried to put a double pushchair and a travel cot in there and because of the cogs we couldn\'t get them to lay flat, so we ended up putting the cot in the boot for safety as we couldn\'t strap it down at an angle. Atlantis shaped goodness

...doesnt seem to be anything else to do for the inhabitants of atlantis. So strike one for season two. My main hangup about season two is something im unsure about. The graphics. I might just be a nutcase, but it seems season two had their funding cut or something equally as heartbreaking, as the previously amazing cut scenes of the floating city or the ocean doing ocean like things are no longer as breath taking. Some of them, infact, had me thinking my glasses needed adjusting. They don't. Strike two atlantis! Bad season! Thankfully, in true stargatey style, it managed to pull its self out of my firing line just long enough for me to start enjoying it. The graphics improved by the end of the season and the scenes of anything in space were well up to scratch. The episodes themselfs (when they weren't focusing on that reocurring...

...Anyone played Myst? Riven? Well then you'll know what to expect here, just put the setting in the Atlantis and call it an average example of the same genre because its basically a clone of these games...yet again. Its gets tiring to keep playing the same thing over and over in the hope that you might find something different and worthy of your time, but I do like this kind of game so I do keep trying. Atlantis isn't the new, exciting, innovative game I'm looking for to break the mould here, but rather a rehash of old ideas in new settings. Still, if you've no idea what Myst is, or have never played a similar game then there's probably something here for you - or if you are easily pleased and like the genre then feel free to read on. "Atlantis: The Lost Tales" to give it its full title, is one of the multitude of 3D adventure games...

Stargate Atlantis Season One

Advantages: Good cast, great stories, Dvd extras to make you laugh

...I'm a huge Stargate fan. So much so that I refused to defile my love of the gate by buying into spin offs (even if technically sg1 is a spin off, hush!) Now that Stargate sg1 is finished I found my self at a loss as to where to get my next Stargate fix before the new movies come out. I decided to give in and bought Stargate Atlantis Season One. I went into this as a total skeptic. I'm terrible for trying to pick things apart. So in went the first disc. The first episode starts with some amazing special effects and throws in Jack O'neil and Daniel Jackson as if to say "Its ok, don't worry, it will be fine, we promise" And I have to admit, after the first five minutes of trying to set up the story so those new to the whole Stargate thing (possibly people from a different planet?) could follow it, it got good! Disadvantages: its not a good book by some standards

...Well as I used this as a comparison in one of my recent reviews it is time to dust off this book and try to remember why I bought it in the first place. Clive Cussler is a rather prolific author who in recent months has begun to write with other writers thus increasing his output, meaning it is rare that when purusing the new books on the shelf at most supermarkets you wont find one of his books on offer (an amazon search brings up almost 500 options). Atlantis Found as with so many books explores the possibilities of mythical Atlantis being discovered. As with many of Cusslers other books it features Dirk Pitt and his friend Al Giordino, two men who work for the American based NUMA (National Underwater and Marine Agency). ...There are a number of powerful and mystical places on Ibiza one of which has managed to remain enigmatic and secret through an unspoken pact among island dwellers not to disclose its whereabouts - this is Atlantis.... Atlantis does not appear on any maps nor is it signposted but it does exist....If you ask an islander of its whereabouts they are always unable to disclose directions.
