...My husband and I have now been on the Atoll 3 times.The first time we had booked a week on the boat and a week on one of the Islands. THe day we were due to change over the Captain called us to his cabin and told us that our Island was over booked . He said we could stay on the boat for a further week or we could still go to the Island. 2 other couples were also made the same offer. We now think the boat was underbooked and she cannot sail with too few passengers. Ourselves and one other couple decided to stay on (if we had booked 2 weeks we would have paid more) On the second night of our second week a beautiful cake was brought to our table, with welcome back on it and when we went to our cabin, the beds had all been decorated with flowers and garlands. THe other couple also had theirs done, in a different design to ours.I cannot fault...

Fantastic Atol Explorer

Advantages: Diving, Snorkelling, scenery, Food, cabins everything.
Disadvantages: not long enough!!

...We have just returned from an amazing holiday that was a week on the Atoll Explorer and a week on Biyadhoo. (12/8/07to 27/8/07) The previous review is very true today. We booked through Voyages Jules Verne on their internet site.The whole holiday cost £3,390 for the two of us. We were transfered by speedboat to the Atoll Explorer and were welcomed with a cocktail and a brief outline of the boat and itinery for the North Ari Atoll trip. The boat is perfect for both serious divers and those who snorkel or just want a relaxing holiday in the most photographic locations. It is a liveaboard dive boat. We had booked a B cabin and had cabin 19a which had a small balcony with two chairs. Though small it was perfect with a great picture window like patio doors with air conditioning as well. Cruise with a difference!

Advantages: Different place every day
Disadvantages: A few early mornings!!!

...The Atoll Explorer is actually a type of Dive Boat. It has 2 different itineries, each a week at a time. Both are quite similar in activities, they just visit different places. It has 20 cabins, a small bar area, restaurant area, very small shop, and 2 upper decks, one of which has 2 small jacuzzis. There is also a dive school, run by EuroDivers, on board. A Brief run down of each! Cabins These are small be warned, but as you only sleep in them it doesn't matter. They are basic but kept spotlessly clean. You have a bed, desk thing, wardobe, little side cabinet thing, plus an even smaller shower room with toilet, sink and of course a shower, with a very friendly shower curtain! There is a crackly radio which seemed to play whatever cd they had on in the bar, towels for the room and for the beach are provided, and hairdryers are...

  Sun Island, South Ari Atoll....a true paradise

Advantages: White beaches, blue ocean, great snorkeling, total relaxation, sports facilities
Disadvantages: A bit too hot for playing squash :-)

It is easy to see this when you fly from the capital Male to your resort island :-) We stayed at a resort called Sun Island (the name of the island is actually Nalaguraidhoo) and it is located in the South Ari Atoll. To get there from the capital Male? you have to take either a 30 minute sea plane flight or go there by boat?a trip that will take about 2 ½ hours. We chose to go for the sea plane option (which cost a bit more than the boat) and we don?t regret that because it was amazing to see the islands from the air. Sun Island is operated by Villa Hotels and they also own other resorts such as Fun Island, Royal Island, Paradise Island and Holiday Island.   White Sands Resort South Ari Atol - to die for ?

Advantages: Fantastic weather, scrumptious SCUBA diving
Disadvantages: Can be expensive if you don't keep checking your hotel bill

...Seaplane on offer when we booked but we chose the cheap / free option being skinflints and thinking ? hmm more money for the scuba diving ? don?t do it. As luck would have it everyone else on our island for the return leg had either had previous experience of the speedboat, or basically had more sense and had already pre-booked the plane ? so we were the only ones scheduled for the speedboat so it was cancelled and we got a free trip in the seaplane anyway ? but I wouldn?t risk that for the sake of £85.00 each. White Sands Resort. REMEMBER: Everything you buy / drink / purchase in bars or shops goes onto your room bill which you settle at the END of your stay! You will only need to take about $20 (dollars) for tipping for your entire stay. The resort is one of the most southern in South Ari Atoll, very close to the Sun Island resort...

what lastminute.com offer will you take up?

Advantages: Great website, easy to use, good layout, lots of offers available.
Disadvantages: None

...just £15.00. The website is full of bargains and sometimes I will just browse it for something to do and then find myself reaching for the card to make a 'little' purchase! There is also some great protection offered by the website in the form of ATOL insurance protection on all city breaks booked through the site. One of the great things about the customer service is that if you are having a problem booking something online or prefer to do it by phone you can call and speak to a real person and not somebody in a call centre on the other side of the world. I am a huge fan of this website, it's one of the first places I look if I want a spur of the moment deal or something to do in London for a day. I would highly recommend the website to anybody looking for a city break or great day out and therefore I am rating the website 5/5....

...If you have heard people talking about .tk or read anything about them on the internet then you are probably curious as to what it is for. Because there are different endings for each country, E.g. .fr is for France, .de is for Germany, .co.uk is for the uk, but what could .tk stand for. Turkey perhaps, nope, it stands for Tokelau. Tokelau is made up of 3 small atolls located in the south pacific and their total area is 10 sq km, with their highest point being just 5m above sea level. There is a population for all 3 atolls of just 1,405 people. In September 2003 a group of people from the Dot TK team went to all three atolls to present what the Internet can mean for such a small country. Excellent diving in the Maldives

Advantages: Warm water, clear, lots of life

...I recently did a dive trip to the Maldives, not a destination I would have planned on as I've always thought of it as a honeymoon destination. I travelled on a liveaboard boat, doing a circuit of dive sites around North and South Male atolls and Ari Atoll. Water temperature was mostly 28-30C, with mostly visibility of 15-25m. The weather was generally very warm, and fairly humid. Some of the dives were phenomenal. The highlight was the dive at Manta Point (though it's best to point out that there isn't just one but several manta points around the Maldives, partly according to season). We had 20+ mantas swooping in just over our heads, hovering and observing us as we observed them! Our second dive there wasn't as good but still around 10 mantas checking us out over the cleaning station. There were several other drift dives that were...
