Advantages: Cheap Blu-Ray player, stunning visuals, free online gameplay, fun tilt controls, excellent multimedia playback.
Disadvantages: Expensive, lack of PS2 game playback.

...I bought one of these a long time ago, just before the iPod craze went off and to be honest for it's time it was fantastic. Of course it is a little bulky taking CD's and all, but not too much so. It is barely bigger than a CD in fact and was ideal for my needs at school. I used to have the CD part in my bag, then the remote trailed out of the zip. The remote is the coolest feature of this product as it has a small screen on it so you can read your albums and songs. The major problem with it was the software, when you were creating an ATRAC CD it just took forever, once it was made it was perfect however. After my 3rd Gen iPod broke, and my newer Sony HDD system is on the blink this little bad boy is still going strong! Finished in stylish brushed silver, the Sony looks every inch the futuristic device it is. Unlike most MP3 players, the NW-E3 does not use removable memory, but has built-in memory that cannot be augmented. PSP - Excellent All Round Gaming System

...like to hook up with friends since the PSP offers many cooperative and competitive titles out there so if you know a group of friends it could be very ideal. The psp also doubles as a good PMP playing high resolution video files and mp3 / wma/atrac audio files with aplomb and with up to 12 hours battery life playing music it could easily double as a music player, and 5 hours playing videos it does that well too. The only key concern is its size but provided you use the supplied carry case these concerns can be forgottern. When playing games battery life drops to around the 4 hour mark, however expanded batteries are now available and the PSP scene has exploded quite violenetly with ricochets of accessories now available, just looking on ebay for a minute brings up hundreds of carry cases, speaker docks, batteries, chargers...

...This review is based on a Sony NW-E3 MPE Player. I bought one of these Sony MP3 players a few years ago and at the time it seemed like a cracking piece of kit, extremely small and light. The build quality of the player is excellent as is the sound quality, it has 3 levels of bass and the supplied headphones even cope with the sound turned up very high. The 64mb of space on the player isn't expandable and isn't very big, only room for around 20 songs, the songs on the player unfortunately can't be traditional MP3's instead they have to be converted to ATRAC format (a Sony MP3 format) using the supplied Sony software before they can be used on the player and they have to be uploaded using the same Sony software which isn't very good to be honest. ...I have this but the silver model, the only difference between this and the pink model is the colour. Other colours are available if you search on somewhere such as ebay. It has a very large memory capacity which i am far from filling, the ATRAC file format is alot more condensed than a normal MP3 format enabling you to get more tracks onto the hard drive. I have found it to be very reliable but you have to use the supplied sony software to transfer music onto the machine. It can also be used for data file storage too but i havent as yet used that feature. The software is easy to install, you can also use mp3 and wav files on the machine. The menu takes a while to get use to but once you have read the manual and used it a few times its fairly ease to use. The screen is black and white and there is no video capability but its easy...
