...I needed a new system for my car and wanted it to be capable of playing CD's, MP3's and also have DAB so I went for the Sony CDX-DAB 6650 in Car CD player with DAB Radio. The system head unit is well designed and is a face lift for security, which most of them are now days. The head unit is black in colour with a slight grey monotone colour around the LCD display which itself is a good size so can see it clearly. It has many buttons for you to play with and simple volume buttons on one side and simple skip up, down buttons on the other side. ...Sony have done it again, they have made a simple to use, huge amount of features music player. This time it being an mp3 player. First of all this player is very cool and modern looking and fits in the pocket easily. The display is clear, showing album, track name, band and more at the flick of a switch. It also is very load i have found it beats an ipod for loudness and quality at high volume. For the size it is it has many functions as well, all of the repeats and shuffels you would expect, a sound equaliser, backlit screen and many more. With its 1gb of flash memory and the excellent ATRAC3 compessibility you can easily get 690 songs on it which is V impressive on a player that weighs less than an ounce!! .... The only downside i can see with this unit is that it has no multi changer control, but as you can connect Mp3 players to it, so it's not all bad. In conclusion if your looking for a good quality in car DAB tuner? This would be my first choice. It's not badly priced, you don't need to buy any other boxes or wires to get DAB. Advantages: Atrac capability, battery life
Disadvantages: poor software and value for money

...I got my D-NE715 about a year ago and since then it has served me ok but is nothing special. There are a few nagging issues I shall address later. Sound Lets face it it?s a Sony, the sound quality is very good, with Mega Base to get you jumping and AVLS (Automatic Volume Limiter System) which protects your lugs. Another feature is the G-shock, I know most players now have a very good anti skip system but the one on this player is great, I have never had it skip on me, even when I take is snowboarding! The earphones that come with the player are fairly standard Sony ones and unfortunately my ears seem to be a funny shape, which just doesn?t agree with them, so I had to get new ones. I?m sure they work for most people though ATRAC3plus ATRAC3plus (Adaptive Transform Acoustic Coding3plus) is an audio compression technology...

Sony Network Walkman NW-E3

Advantages: easy to use, allows mp3
Disadvantages: not huge memory

...Having already had a Rio Mp3 player of 64 mb, I wanted nothing less for my next one. Sony's range all look fantastic, miniturisation taken to the extreme, and i had my heart set on an 'NW-E3' until i realised that I would have to put music on it in 'ATRAC3', whatever that was. A little test with a friend's model, and I quickly discovered what it was. I was mortified. With my previous player, I had been able to fit about 37 songs on maximum, after compressing the songs to 64 quality. Supposedly this would make it unhearable, but, personally I couldn't tell the difference. With this new ATRAC3 I would be able to fit a stingy 20 songs max. Thus I was overjoyed to discover that those wonderful people at Sony had not completely gone out of their minds, and released two models that accepted my beloved mp3. I opted for the massive 128mb one...

The keys are very nice and user-friendly, provided are earphones and a nice pen for the screen, which can also be used as a remote for the MP3 player (like the gizmos we find in MDs these days) The Clie can last for 15 days without recharging (according to Sony), or up to 11 hours of music I personally can't find anything wrong with this toy, it's beautiful, easy to handle, a must to impress the boss (and a few ladies), and all in all a very good Palm. But sadly my wallet loses a few pounds very time it thinks about this gadget....

But on the basis that Sony will probably drop the price soon having wished only to fleece those of us who like the launch product I won't deduct marks because of this....
