Amari Atrium Bangkok

...We had booked a Superior Deluxe room at the Amari Atrium in Bangkok for 4 days in September to finish off our honeymoon. The hotel is very grand and very well decorated. Check in took no time at all and we were taken straight up to our room on the 9th Floor. The room was very spacious, the bed was huge and was decorated with rose petals, there was also a lovely honeymoon cake on arrival. The bedroom has a lovely view which backed out to the water and could see for miles. The bathroom was fab a nice spacious bath with overhead shower and the water was nice and hot with plenty of power. Each room has a safe which came in very handy for keeping passports and cash. The food at the restaurant was fantastic with both a buffet or al la carte available both of which was excellent quality. There was also an italian restaurant...

Top class hotel with a stunning setting

Advantages: Beautiful location, great food, relaxed atmosphere
Disadvantages: Need to ensure you get a Danube room, although this can be pricy

Switzerland's Only Museum for Potheads

...Century and was always intended to be a glass and ceramics museum. Stepping into the building you walk into a giant atrium that stretches up to the ceiling. It's a spectacular building with a gallery around the upper floor from which you can look down into the atrium. There's an information desk on the left hand side as you enter and a small stall selling gifts and memorabilia at the far end. The Collection Regrettably we had to take some of the rooms at great speed and this meant we didn't have time to stop and translate all the labels but we were determined to get a quick look at everything. My husband is particularly interested in faience, majolica and tin-glazed ceramics so the first couple of rooms of very early work stopped him in his tracks. Gloriously Garish

.... Tourists can venture into the casino too, which opens its doors from 2pm. You have to pay to go into the gaming rooms themselves (10 Euros and you need ID with you). I didn't as they were very quiet (it was a Monday night at the end of October) and I could see just as well from the main lobby (they call it the Atrium) and this is free to enter. If it had been busy I think the premium would have been worth it. The building itself dates from the late 19th century and is exquisitely beautiful - this is no Brighton casino! The Atrium is free to wander, as are the toilets (to use rather than wander). I can highly recommend both as being marvellous experiences. That about sums it. Hop the train back to Nice for a nightcap in the Negresco. More on that in a separate review... So, that's Monte Carlo. I don't think you will need more than a day...

The home of country music

Advantages: Everything is within easy reach of downtown. There are many things to see and do.
Disadvantages: Rush hour traffic is horrendous along the interstates due to road construction.

...atrium, that is about four stories tall. You can stroll through the gardens or ride the boat ride along the small river inside the atrium. There are many restaurants inside the hotel as well. I would recommend visiting the hotel and walking through the atrium, especially if you visit around Christmas, when the entire hotel will be lit up with Christmas trees and have an ice sculpture exhibit. However, the rooms tend to be kind of expensive. Opry mills, in my opinion, is one the best outlet malls. There are so many stores to choose from, with amazing cheap prices and selection. You can spend all day in there walking around and shopping, so if you plan on going, plan on spending the entire day there. There are many types of bars and clubs along the downtown strip, however, if you're under 21, make sure to get in before 9. After that...

Gaylord Palms. No, that's really it's name...

Advantages: Huge. Plush. Great food, very friendly staff, fab location, choice of facilities.
Disadvantages: Huge. Contrived and over the top. Gauche and characterless

...I visited this hotel in Orlando, Florida for a convention in March 2006, and was blown over by the place. Whether it was the sheer (vast) size of the hotel, the replica everglades in the atrium (complete with alligators!), or the fabulous food and drink on offer that kept me doing moped impressions all week (but, but, but, but...) I'm not sure. Despite the size and contrived nature of the place I couldn't help but love every second of it. Service was fantastic - as was the food, and there was more than enough to keep guests occupied with a very wide range of activities and ways to relax on offer. I'd recommend it to any visitor to the area, the prices are relatively economical and it's definitely 'an experience'. The gaylord palms is located a 20 minute taxi ride from Orlando international airport, only a couple of minutes away...

...Many a time have I met up here with friends after most other restaurants and bars have closed their doors. The Landmark hotel is located on the Marylebone Road and adjacent to Marylebone station. Although on a main road, it is pretty easy to park in most of the side streets late in the evening and at the weekend. The Winter Garden is a huge atrium/piano bar in the centre of the Landmark hotel. The building used to have a courtyard, but was converted with a glass roof at some point and became an atrium. With the stars above you and a view of the windows of some of the rooms it has a fabulous inside-out feel, which I just adore. Although they stop serving dinner at 11.30, you can usually still get small things after this time such as scrambled egg and smoked salmon as well as tea and coffee.
