...have a van usually located in the car park, who's rates are usually much better. Alicante airport is located right off the AP-7/N-332 motorway which leads north towards Benidorm and south towards Torrevieja. It is clearly signposted and easy to access. Sometimes the barriers controlling access have been known to not work, although that has only happened once to the person picking me up from the airport. There is a car park situated right opposite the entrance to the airport which usually has a lot of space, I have never had serious trouble finding a spot to leave the hire car. Departures The terminal is quite big and recently extended to house a second terminal building. Easyjet seem to be based in the second terminal as there are quite a few flights in and out of this particular airport. Once you go through security control...

Alicante

Advantages: Beautiful,Clean city
Disadvantages: Expensive,hilly,hardly any English spoken

...Benidorm where 2 out of 3 people are English and there is a glut of cheap eating places & entertainment(of which there seemed very little of in Alicante) Also you need to be fairly fit as the whole city is built on a very steep slope.in fact we didn't do the castle because it seemed there would be to much of a climb for us to cope with. On the plus side it is a beautiful city with some lovely parks and the highlight was the walk along the park on the seafront,especially at night,with all the stalls & street traders. As far as I am concerned I am glad I went as it was an experience but unless I ever learn Spanish one I doubt I will ever repeat...

Review of Alicante (Spain)

Alicante city is a wonderful gap in this winter

Advantages: Excellent weather, warming sun, gorgeous seaside, awesome nightlife
Disadvantages: Beaches might be too crowded in the summer, no winter sports to do

The first place to visit is the gorgeous beachfront by the harbour, then along the main pedestrian walkway, the ´Explanada de España´, a stunning promenade by the sea decorated with black, red and cream marble and surrounded by beautiful palm trees nearby the street shops and cafes. This is a striking place where you can enjoy an outdoor seafront concert in the balmy summery Sunday mornings and bank holidays. Highly Attractive

Advantages: Visually inventive, great performances and a witty script

...The Rules of Attraction I am a great fan of Bret Easton Ellis. In my teens ?American Psycho? was my favourite book and that?s probably why I was so disappointed with Mary Hallan?s film adaptation. Perhaps it?s because I haven?t read ?The Rules of Attraction? that I found Roger Avary?s interpretation of Ellis? work such a visceral delight. I should start off by saying this is not a film for kids, the faint-hearted or the easily offended (the same can probably be said for my review). A must see attraction!!Lion park

Advantages: Close up to lions
Disadvantages: bad is car has no a/c

...access is good as there is only a ground floor shop and food court where all of your food needs can be met, the rest of the trip is in the seat of your car. The only problem that i could see is the toilets as there is only one block of toilets that i could find which are at the main recpetion but you cannot ask to see lions in what is ment to be the natural environment and a toilet block. i must have 100s of photos of this day out all great, the lions are used to cars and will gladly walk near the car for great photos if you arnt to scared. Everytime i i have visited south africa i have also visited the lion park as you are amazed everytime, so much better than going to a zoo. from memory Opening times-8am till 2pm 3pm -6...

The 'Mane' Attraction or just Monkey Business?

Advantages: A fun, educational day out and lovely animals
Disadvantages: Bad smelling cafe, questionable toilet safety and animals being put away too early : (

...and fluffy, it?s important to remember that they are not all sweet and cuddly like a kitten and can actually be very, very dangerous. Whilst some of the species are kept in cages, others are free to roam about all over the road and you could find yourself in the midsts of a bull fight! Thankfully, there are several safari cars with trained animal experts stationed around the park so, if there are some wild scuffles, the staff are on hand to try and keep the action at bay. The safari is, naturally, an outdoor event and so it?s a good idea to try and pick a day which promises some decent weather - or else the animals may decide to bugger off in search of shelter! There are however some indoor attractions, namely a sea lion show, a bug house and a petting zoo to name but a few, and the animals are normally allowed to wonder where they please...

Romance and laughter: Animal Attraction

Advantages: Ashley Judd and a great cast
Disadvantages: Bit slow at times

...Animal Attraction is a hilarious romantic comedy starring the brilliant Ashley Judd and is based on the novel Animal Husbandry written by Laura Zigman. My favourite park!

...I have lived near Wythenshawe park all my life and it?s somewhere I have been many, many times. It is an ideal place for many things and for me it is great for walking the dogs in. I shall give a little bit of information of Wythenshawe park and my personal opinion on it. The location: Wythenshawe park is fairly big and located in Baguley. The park has the long and very busy, main road named Altrincham road on one side of it and the M56 motorway running past it on one side. The park is easily reached from various points and is not that far from Manchester airport either or other surrounding areas such as Altrincham, woodhouse park or even Manchester city centre itself. Castilla Hotel Alicante Playa San Juan

Advantages: close to the beach
Disadvantages: service poor.

...are full of delightful fresh fruit and vegetables. Why did the hotel only serve tinned? The menus gave no indication of what the food actually was..merely a name. If I was paying over 16 euros in a restaurant I would expect some description. They served a smoked fish salad. Sounded good. How can a salad be cooked vegetables left to go cold and congeal? The room we booked was advertised as having a minibar... it didn't. The air conditioning only blew warm air. The car parking charge of 7.50 euros a day seemed excessive.... though once again one of the female staff came to our aid and suggested we park in the road outside. The hotel is situated in the midst of a concrete jungle of tower blocks, driving is relatively easy as all the streets are one way. It is less than 100 metres from a beautiful beach. My advice if you use this hotel...
