Audi A4 1.8T S Line 2004

Advantages: Driveability, Good Looks.
Disadvantages: Common Faults (But are not expensive to fix)

...Just upgraded to the Audi A4 1.8T S Line a few weeks ago from my Audi Cab 2.6 V6. I thought I was going to miss the power of the V6, how wrong i was!. The 1.8T with 190bhp is a quick machine and once the turbo kicks in you have hot hatch power in a saloon. These cars are ripe for tuning by way of ECU remapping, air filters, diverter valves and a number of other products which will increase BHP and torque. The S Line trim with the extra body deeper grill, spoiler, wide arches make the car look sporty without going over the top. On the interior the aluminum trimmings along with the half leather sports seat are classy and comfortable for long journeys. The suspension is stiff but solid on country road. Some things that go wrong in this model although these may have been rectified in the 2004 onward models are ignition coil...

Audi A4

Advantages: Acceleration (V6, S4), Automatic-transmission performance (CVT), Steering/handling, Ride (base suspension), Interior materials, Available AWD
Disadvantages: Rear-seat room

...The vast majority of A4s are sold with quattro. Quattro A4s with 4 cyl and automatic transmission feel slightly underpowered. Manual-transmission quattro 1.8Ts are lively enough, while manual-transmission V6 quattros are satisfyingly quick. Lighter front-drive models feel spry with any transmission, though CVT versions are lazy from a stop. Test 1.8T CVT sedan did 8.6 sec 0-60 mph; test V6 CVT Cabriolet did 7.8. Seamless CVT acts much like conventional automatic, but requires use of manual mode for best performance. Manual transmissions controlled by precise shifters. S4's V8 strong at all speeds; test sedan did 5.6 sec 0-60. Averages for manual-transmission test models: 1.8T sedan, 24.8 mpg; 1.8T Avant, 21.5; V6 quattro sedans,18.3-21; S4 sedan, 15.6; S4 Avant, 15.9; S4 Cabriolet, 14.1. Audi says CVT is 10 percent more fuel efficient...

New Model A4 1.8T

Advantages: Looks, performance, price
Disadvantages: ummm, nope, still can't think of any

...Thought it was time for an update seeing as I've had the car for over 6 months... I'd always had a thing about Audis, I'd love an S6 but the budget won't stretch, so the A4 was an obvious choice. Looking at the range I had the choice of the entry-level 2.0 of the 1.8T in either 2 wheel drive or Quattro. Comparing the performance the 2.0 pushes out 130bhp with the 1.8T raising this to 150bhp, simple choice then. Comparing this with the 3 series, the 318 offers only 112bhp, with the 320 jumping upto 170bhp, though the new model increases capacity to 2.3 litres. After test driving both variants I decided on the 2 wheel drive, though the brochure gives the same 8.4sec 0-60 time, the 2 wheel drive seems quicker, probably as the Quattro has the power being put out to all 4 wheels. I must say though that the Quattro definitely has the edge...

Audi A4 1.8SE Auto 4 Door

Advantages: Ride, Build Quality, Image, Looks, Equipment
Disadvantages: Rear Legroom, Running costs, Dull Handling

...Here's my first ever review (again - sorry for posting it in the wrong section before!) I've had my 1998 Audi A4 1.8SE Auto 4 door for 4 months now and it still puts a smile on my face. Whether it's the solid 'thunk' of the doors closing, or the gorgeous tone of the superb 'Concert' stereo, the Audi continues to be a car I will never regret buying. I purchased privately from a family who had cherished the car - it came in superb condition, with low mileage, and a full Audi service history. The light green (Jasper Green) really looks great when I've thrown the sponge on it, and the standard 16" alloys do a good job of setting the car off. It's by no means a perfect car though. The rear legroom is really poor, and the boot openning isn't too clever either - I'd have had an Avant if I could have afforded one. The handling is...

Diamond review  AUDI'D RICHADA RATE THE A4 2.0 TFSI S LINE?

Advantages: Acceleration. Style. Build Quality.
Disadvantages: Power Delivery. Driving Position. Price. Equipment. Soulless. Fuel Consumption.

...THE GARAGE? At 4703mm long and 1826mm wide, unless you have a particularly small one, yes it should indeed fit inside your garage. WHICH SPECIFIC MODEL? At £27,830 (aren?t these modern day ?Cortinas? getting pricy?) and packing 211bhp, the Audi A4 2.0TFSi S Line, that I am reviewing here, is towards the top of a bewilderingly comprehensive range of models. It is the most powerful and expensive four cylinder front wheel drive A4 saloon. The A4 range starts at £20,485 for the 118bhp 1.8TFSi and tops out at a whopping £33,700 for the 237bhp 3.0 TDi Quattro (four wheel drive) Executive S Line. With each engine configuration Audi offer a quattro (four wheel drive) variant ? indeed I will be offering an argument for not offering certain models, the 2.0TFSi included, with only front wheel drive. IN WHAT CAPACITY AM I REVIEWING THIS CAR? This is...

Audi A4 Avant Turbo Sport

Advantages: Build Quality, Performance, Style.
Disadvantages: Cost, Handling at very high speeds

...cars. OK, so it is expensive, but it is worth it. We have two Audi's in the household, and I don't think we will ever regret it! Oh, and yes the handles above the seats are oil-dampened!...

Review of Audi A4 Avant 1.8T

Versitile A4

Advantages: Looks, Beautiful Engine, Value for money, Excellent chassis
Disadvantages: Rear leg room

...The A4 looks sleek, sporting and yet solid. Its small headlamps and large grille give the front a slightly aggressive look, while the rear is tight and compact. I?ve had my A4 for 16 months now and covered 25,000 miles of varying journeys from the 3,000 mile trip down to the South of France to the trip to the shops around the corner, and I?m still very happy with it. The brakes are strong, even if their abruptness takes some getting used to. The slick gearshift makes you want to swap cogs just for the hell of it, the brakes have that reassuring Germanic efficiency while the well-sorted suspension handles bends with ease and cushions the bumps? even when these happen to come along at the same moment. The 1,800cc turbo-charged engine can be very frugal if driven correctly; I achieved over 45 mpg on several tank fulls while...

Audi A4 , more like AWWW D A bore

Advantages: Quick , nice door sound , MPG
Disadvantages: Low,unreliable, tiny tiny boot, big little car

...the Audi A4 Avant has done to me its let me down and now all its minor points are building up , uncle Craig is going to get punched. So lets start with the practicality of the car?.Audi call it an Avant because frankly if they called it an estate they would be sued , the boot is tiny . When you look at the actual width of the car its all wheel arches and lowness , hence the internal room feels like a much smaller car , more of a Golf than a large estate , sorry Avant. This cramped layout extents through the whole car, there are no clever pockets or under seat storage, no deep side pockets and laughably only ONE cup holder. How on earth are you supposed to have a nice Latte with your passenger , one of you will have to risk inner thigh burns, and that is not good. The Low door and roof line also pose a problem, as every time you get in...

Audi A3 1.8 T Quattro

Advantages: Great build quality, lots of toys, pretty nippy and a name you can trust.
Disadvantages: Fuel consumption, fault on stereo and uncomfortable on really long journeys.

...with different road types (from motorway to twisty B roads) the average I got was around 25.8 mpg so it can become a little expensive! Also you need to watch out for a fault with the music system. When the car is cold the volume control does not work properly and is either extremely quiet or REALLY loud! This is a fault on all the systems but it does stop within about 20 minutes of driving the car. Overall, I would have to say the audi is a good car that I would definately reccomend to buy as long as your not doing long commutes in it! Very fun to drive and a beautiful cabin to sit in combined with the 4 wheel drive system and brilliant build quality you really can't go far wrong with this car....

Audi A4: Are you a 'Compact Executive'

Advantages: The neighbours think you have gone up in the world
Disadvantages: Noisy, cramped and it doesn't like corners

...The A4 Avant can be characterised as a strange mix of opposites: great to look at, but not to to drive; big on the outside, cramped on the inside, stylish yet dull. If you want a load-lugging estate car, the A4 is not for you. In fact, if you want a family car then the A4 is probably not the car for you either. The interior and boot could not be described as spacious - front seat occupants are likely to clash elbows and knock their knees on the centre console, rear seat passengers have their knees around their ears, and the boot is no more practical than on the saloon version. Just about everyone I've spoken to complains about backache. Along with the backache, I got cramp in the left (clutch) leg from having the seat too far back just so as I could avoid the centre console... The 1.9TDi engine is quite punchy, particularly if you...
