Audi A4 , more like AWWW D A bore

...the Audi A4 Avant has done to me its let me down and now all its minor points are building up , uncle Craig is going to get punched. So lets start with the practicality of the car?.Audi call it an Avant because frankly if they called it an estate they would be sued , the boot is tiny . When you look at the actual width of the car its all wheel arches and lowness , hence the internal room feels like a much smaller car , more of a Golf than a large estate , sorry Avant. This cramped layout extents through the whole car, there are no clever pockets or under seat storage, no deep side pockets and laughably only ONE cup holder. How on earth are you supposed to have a nice Latte with your passenger , one of you will have to risk inner thigh burns, and that is not good. Advantages: Too many to list !
Disadvantages: No Split rear seat as standard

...I was really impressed when it was delivered, the lines were so smooth. I could have just left on the drive and looked at all day long!! But that won?t get me to where I want to be. I have the 130 bhp model with sports pack option. ** Nice body!! ** Looking at the lines of the car, you can really see how a wind tunnel played a part in the design!! Smooth and graceful is how I would describe things. Everything is rounded, all the lines blend into one another really well. The phrase that jumps out at me is ?quality engineering?. All the light clusters are moulded and curve round the front and back respectively. They are quite large as well. The front fog lights are at low level. The finish is immaculate, I could not find a single fault with the paintwork. The grill at the front has the famous Audi badge...

Audi A4: Are you a 'Compact Executive'

Disadvantages: Noisy, cramped and it doesn't like corners

...The A4 Avant can be characterised as a strange mix of opposites: great to look at, but not to to drive; big on the outside, cramped on the inside, stylish yet dull. If you want a load-lugging estate car, the A4 is not for you. In fact, if you want a family car then the A4 is probably not the car for you either. The interior and boot could not be described as spacious - front seat occupants are likely to clash elbows and knock their knees on the centre console, rear seat passengers have their knees around their ears, and the boot is no more practical than on the saloon version. Just about everyone I've spoken to complains about backache. Along with the backache, I got cramp in the left (clutch) leg from having the seat too far back just so as I could avoid the centre console... Complete confidence in this car

Advantages: Its simplicity

...I chose a P reg Audi A4 earlier this year when I needed a suitable car for my sales rep job. Since March I have travelled over 20,000 miles taking overall mileage to 155,000 - and not had a single problem. Fuel consumption is excellent - 600 miles out of a tank costing approx £45-50 to fill (depending on diesel price obviously!). What really surprised me was how EASY it is to do things like change bulbs in both front and rear lights - even I could do it at the motorway services 250 miles from home and husband. The back seats drop without having to fiddle about or remove headrests. Everything about the car is solid and safe - but certainly not boring. The only down side to me is that the boot area is restricted by the sloping shape. It makes it less roomy for the dog, and for larger items. Even so it caters for normal sized luggage...

Running a used A4 3.0 Quattro Saloon

Advantages: Performance, Build Quality, Reliability, and Practicality.
Disadvantages: Running costs may not suit all people.

...This is my second Audi A4, and I bought it on the strength of my experiences with my previous A4. My car is a 2002 model 3.0 Quattro Sport with the 6 speed manual ?box. I bought this car used with 55,000 miles on the clock 6 months ago, replacing my previous car, which had covered 107,000 miles. The key strengths of this car are much the same as the previous car, namely: Reliability, Build quality, Comfort, Practicality, and Driving Involvement. I bought this car, as I also wanted more performance, as well as a newer car with lower mileage. The 3.0 6-cylinder engine is wonderfully smooth and quiet in general driving, while under harder acceleration it provides a suitably sporting growl. The six-speed ?box doesn?t rev any lower in top gear than my 2.0?s 5 speed, but the closer ratios make it extremely flexible for open road/A road...

Audi A4 1.8T S Line 2004

Advantages: Driveability, Good Looks.
Disadvantages: Common Faults (But are not expensive to fix)

...Just upgraded to the Audi A4 1.8T S Line a few weeks ago from my Audi Cab 2.6 V6. I thought I was going to miss the power of the V6, how wrong i was!. The 1.8T with 190bhp is a quick machine and once the turbo kicks in you have hot hatch power in a saloon. These cars are ripe for tuning by way of ECU remapping, air filters, diverter valves and a number of other products which will increase BHP and torque. The S Line trim with the extra body deeper grill, spoiler, wide arches make the car look sporty without going over the top. On the interior the aluminum trimmings along with the half leather sports seat are classy and comfortable for long journeys. The suspension is stiff but solid on country road. Some things that go wrong in this model although these may have been rectified in the 2004 onward models are ignition coil...

...Last week (a fairly reasonable 9 weeks from placing the order) we took delivery of our brand new Audi A3 Sportback SE 2.0 TDI, to replace my Mercedes CLK (check out my other reviews), a splendid car but really not a suitable family-mobile... ...The Audi A4 2.0 is a handsome high quality car with a smooth highway ride and generally low noise levels. Interior The interior is snug for 4 occupants although those in the rear seats should not be taller than 1.7M as legroom is limited. The seats are well constructed for comfort but lack sufficient sideways restraint for more enthusiastic cornering. The seat longitudinal adjustment is by lever located on the left, a bar across the front of the seat would be simpler to locate. The rake and height adjustment controls work well. Elegant entry or egress is thwarted by the low roofline that forces passengers to contort somewhat, particularly in the case of rear seat occupants. The drivers door armrest does not have a handle on the inner end making for a long reach when closing a fully opened door. Footwell and pavement...
