A8 Audi

Advantages: Looks Stylish
Disadvantages: Low drag in corners

...Audi?s aluminum A8 is a handsome beast. There?s nothing retro or classic about it ? the rounded shape is bang up to date. Despite its soft styling it still looks strong, as a big car should without being overly aggressive. The rear end is square, but the kicked-up flanks look perfect. Despite being quite light, the 2.8-litre version is certainly no hot rod, with just 174bhp and 185lb ft of torque on offer. The 3.7-litre versions obviously improve substantially on these figures, but add seven and a half grand to the asking price at the same time. The 2.8-litre takes 11 lazy seconds to reach 60mph and the in-gear times are sluggish, too. In the engine?s defence it feels smooth and strong, if not quick-revving. The automatic gearbox is partly to blame. It has no ?sport? mode, and while it swaps ratios smoothly, it often refuses to kick...

Derby Audi

Advantages: Good reliable performance cars that look smart
Disadvantages: Terrible after sales service

...To put my opinion in context, a little background is needed. I bought a used P Reg Audi A4 as I drive alot for business reasons. I wanted something reliable, comfortable and easy to drive with a bit of 'Umpff' as well. Buying from a dealership gave me peace of mind about the condition of the car and meant I received 12 months warranty. I'm not sure whether the problems I have experienced are due to the fact that I am a youngish female buying a car privately. It might have been a different story if I was buying a fleet of cars on behalf of a company or it was my company car. Maybe someone will write an opinion on this..... Anyway back to my experience of Derby Audi dealership: The sales staff were helpful and the test drive convinced me that this car would live up to my expectations. It has been excellent with just a few...

Audi A4 2.0 saloon

Advantages: Quality of construction, good looks
Disadvantages: Small interior, engine lacks low-down torque & power

...The Audi A4 2.0 is a handsome high quality car with a smooth highway ride and generally low noise levels. Interior The interior is snug for 4 occupants although those in the rear seats should not be taller than 1.7M as legroom is limited. The seats are well constructed for comfort but lack sufficient sideways restraint for more enthusiastic cornering. The seat longitudinal adjustment is by lever located on the left, a bar across the front of the seat would be simpler to locate. The rake and height adjustment controls work well. Elegant entry or egress is thwarted by the low roofline that forces passengers to contort somewhat, particularly in the case of rear seat occupants. The drivers door armrest does not have a handle on the inner end making for a long reach when closing a fully opened door. Footwell and pavement...

Audi A4

Advantages: Acceleration (V6, S4), Automatic-transmission performance (CVT), Steering/handling, Ride (base suspension), Interior materials, Available AWD
Disadvantages: Rear-seat room

...The vast majority of A4s are sold with quattro. Quattro A4s with 4 cyl and automatic transmission feel slightly underpowered. Manual-transmission quattro 1.8Ts are lively enough, while manual-transmission V6 quattros are satisfyingly quick. Lighter front-drive models feel spry with any transmission, though CVT versions are lazy from a stop. Test 1.8T CVT sedan did 8.6 sec 0-60 mph; test V6 CVT Cabriolet did 7.8. Seamless CVT acts much like conventional automatic, but requires use of manual mode for best performance. Manual transmissions controlled by precise shifters. S4's V8 strong at all speeds; test sedan did 5.6 sec 0-60. Averages for manual-transmission test models: 1.8T sedan, 24.8 mpg; 1.8T Avant, 21.5; V6 quattro sedans,18.3-21; S4 sedan, 15.6; S4 Avant, 15.9; S4 Cabriolet, 14.1. Audi says CVT is 10 percent more fuel efficient...

In defence of Audi

Advantages: Friendly, courteous, efficient
Disadvantages: None

...Audi seem to be getting a bit of a kicking on here so, in the interests of balance, I wanted to say I've just got my car back from Swindon Audi after having an MOT and an airbag fault investigation. As usual, the staff at Swindon Audi have been friendly, polite and efficient throughout. My car was collected at 0800 hrs, as arranged. The work was done within the expected time frame, and it was delivered back to me about an hour ago, having been washed and vacuumed. My car is 7 years old now and I could probably save money by taking it elsewhere for servicing and maintenance, but I am very happy with the service I've received from Swindon Audi over the years, so I see no reason to sacrifice peace of mind for economic gain. I have complete faith in the Swindon Audi team and it's always a pleasure to deal with them. I'd happily...

Diamond review  AUDI'D RICHADA RATE THE A4 2.0 TFSI S LINE?

Advantages: Acceleration. Style. Build Quality.
Disadvantages: Power Delivery. Driving Position. Price. Equipment. Soulless. Fuel Consumption.

...THE GARAGE? At 4703mm long and 1826mm wide, unless you have a particularly small one, yes it should indeed fit inside your garage. WHICH SPECIFIC MODEL? At £27,830 (aren?t these modern day ?Cortinas? getting pricy?) and packing 211bhp, the Audi A4 2.0TFSi S Line, that I am reviewing here, is towards the top of a bewilderingly comprehensive range of models. It is the most powerful and expensive four cylinder front wheel drive A4 saloon. The A4 range starts at £20,485 for the 118bhp 1.8TFSi and tops out at a whopping £33,700 for the 237bhp 3.0 TDi Quattro (four wheel drive) Executive S Line. With each engine configuration Audi offer a quattro (four wheel drive) variant ? indeed I will be offering an argument for not offering certain models, the 2.0TFSi included, with only front wheel drive. IN WHAT CAPACITY AM I REVIEWING THIS CAR? This is...

Audi Finchley Road AKA Spire Automotive Ltd

Advantages: NONE - KEEP AWAY
Disadvantages: Poor Customer service - they cause damage to your vehicle and do not care

...Letter to Audi Head of UK: Jeremy Hicks, Audi Customer case reference number: 73255. I would strongly advise anyone from using Audi Finchley, their service must be the worst customer service I have ever received, I will keep this post updated to inform readers if the matter was resolved or if I ended up taking legal action. As a furhter note to anyone getting their Audi serviced or repaired by an authorised dealer you should note that Audi Finchley Road is owned by Spire Automotive Ltd and they also own Watford Audi, Hatfield Audi and Whetstone Audi - so I would advise anyone who expects Audi customer service to keep well away from these dealerships. I need to bring to your attention a lack of service which I have received from Audi Finchley Road. On 15 June 2007 I purchased an Audi Q7 and immediately upon taking delivery...

This car is a statement...

Advantages: Class, Understated Looks, Ride, Luxury Toys
Disadvantages: High running cost, and err..high running costs

...While other prestige vehicle marquees such as BMW, with their jaw-droppingly "controversial" 7-Series and Mercedes' opulent S-Class try in their own away to scream "look at me, I've made it in life", the Audi A8 takes a refreshingly different approach to luxury transport. The car looks highly understated, but the muscular, stealthy lines simply say "I'm well endowed, wanna make something of it?". The shape does however exude the kind of class expected of a car costing the same as a small house. And NOBODY would EVER call it ugly. Take that BMW 7. As for the interior, age just cannot date this vehicle. The interior lives up and even exceeds the imperious reputation that Audi has earned itself for peerless quality. Not even the 2003 MB S-Class can claim to be superior in terms of craftmanship and quality than the A8's sumptuous...

Audi after sales service

Advantages: none
Disadvantages: everything

...I am experiencing a very poor customer service. A year ago I purchased a A4 TDI Avant from John Fox Audi in Nottingham (now part of Synter) with a FSH and extended warranty for 1 year. At the time of purchase the car had covered 67,000 miles. Two weeks ago the car developed a gearbox fault with was related to the gearboxs ECU unit and input shaft. The dealer Sytner Audi in Slough said no problem - warranty will cover. It now transpires that the gearbox oil was not changed at 40 - 42,000 miles or rather there is no record of it being changed. Audi's warranty department claim its the dealer fault, Sytner Slough say its Nottingham's fault and the Warranty departments. Audi Customer Service Department claim it is Nottingham's fault. Nottingham claim it is Peterborough's fault for not having any records, and yes I'm sat in the middle...

ASUS A8N-E BEST MOTHERBOARD I EVER USED

Advantages: EVERY ADVANTAGE, SPEED, RELIABILITY, PERFORMANCE. A GREAT ALROUNDER.
Disadvantages: I COULD FIND NONE

...About two years ago or more, I purchased TWO of these ASUS A8N-E motherboards and built up two identical systems. One of these I had been using for up to 16 hours per day and that was over two years of many hours of long and hard usage. I have nothing but praise for this model, the speed and reliability has been exemplary all this time. I run both of my PC's at 3% over-clock all the time but have tried 5% too, this I found made the PC unstable and sometimes it would reboot itself and sometimes not boot up at all but just go in an attempted boot-up in an endless cycle. So I took the Over-clocking NOS down to 3% where it has stayed and has been trouble free. I think it is required that there is good cooling and ventilation. Temperatures were usually near normal but on the odd occasion such as burning a DVD, the temperature of the CPU...
