...If you vaguely like cars, you've probably heard of Jeremy Clarkson. If you LIKE cars the man is, no doubt, a God. This DVD is the next in an annual series produced by Jeremy. No huge love of cars is required - Jeremy is witty as ever and uses superlatives that are bound to make you laugh - interested or not (though an interest will obviously help). Fans of Top Gear (of which I most certainly am) will surely have their favourites; I can't quite decide between 'I'd rather staple my ears to a horse' and 'It sounds like the God of thunder gargling a hammer!' - but anyway, this is a funny DVD. The main subject of the DVD is obviously supercars, of which there is, more or less, every one worth knowing about (Buggatti Veyron, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, the Audi R8 - which is more than R8 apparently - sorry about that, Porsches and many more). ...I am experiencing a very poor customer service. A year ago I purchased a A4 TDI Avant from John Fox Audi in Nottingham (now part of Synter) with a FSH and extended warranty for 1 year. At the time of purchase the car had covered 67,000 miles. Two weeks ago the car developed a gearbox fault with was related to the gearboxs ECU unit and input shaft. The dealer Sytner Audi in Slough said no problem - warranty will cover. It now transpires that the gearbox oil was not changed at 40 - 42,000 miles or rather there is no record of it being changed. Audi's warranty department claim its the dealer fault, Sytner Slough say its Nottingham's fault and the Warranty departments. Audi Customer Service Department claim it is Nottingham's fault. Nottingham claim it is Peterborough's fault for not having any records, and yes I'm sat in the middle... Read review

...I came across this on the web. Basically, this is a new funkier version of Win a Ferrari supercar"concept well known to car enthusiasts in the UK. Homepage gives you a nice overview of what it is all about. By purchasing a ticket you enter the draw and after all the tickets are sold you may win the brand new as-hot-as-it-gets Ferrai 599 GTB or an Audi R8 or McLaren SLR 722. Now, the real killer is that number of tickets is limited so you have a far greater chance of winning (but of course it still is a draw) Supercar Ferrari section gives you all the technical details about the prize. I would strongly advise anyone from using Audi Finchley, their service must be the worst customer service I have ever received, I will keep this post updated to inform readers if the matter was resolved or if I ended up taking legal action. As a furhter note to anyone getting their Audi serviced or repaired by an authorised dealer you should note that Audi Finchley Road is owned by Spire Automotive Ltd and they also own Watford Audi, Hatfield Audi and Whetstone Audi - so I would advise anyone who expects Audi customer service to keep well away from these dealerships. ...I have driven an Audi 80 1.8S for the past 5 years, eventhough my car is now nearly 13 years old. SO WHY HAVE I LIKED THIS CAR SO MUCH? Well for its time, the Audi 80 was a very modern car, unlike any other for its time. It was the only car to have a fully galvonised body, leading to a 10 year garuntee against corrosion, which my car has fulfilled perfectly, THERE IS NOT A TOUCH OF RUST ANYWHERE! Also, this car had looks, the shape of this car was left untouched for almost 10 years! I mean, for instance, the Ford Escort has been modified time and time again to make it more appealing, but in the end they had to scrap it! Four doors, all electrics, including mirrors, this standard 1.8 engine could reach up to 140 MPH with out any problem at all, the 1.8E, with its injection fuel system, could reach speeds much higher than this... ...soon get to know whether you like it or not. I had the Audi 80 for over 2 years and did over 102,000 miles in it. The Audi 80 is a lovely car to drive with a responsive 1.8 litre engine and a gearbox that is a joy to use. The ride is on the firm side of comfortable and consequently gives superb handling on more winding stretches of road. The car always felt safe with ABS brakes which were always effective without snatching. The driving position was extremely good both ergonomically sound and with clear instruments in front. Rear seat passengers were not quite so well off and rear legroom was nothing special. The rear seats though were comfortable and had a fold-down centre arm-rest. There were 2 surprising things during my ownership of the car – firstly one tyre, the rear off-side, did all 102,000 miles and still didn’t... Read review

...We bought this on the 'rebound' from the deeply unsatisfactory Audi A4 cabrio we had owned for 22,000 troublesome and very unsatisfactory miles. The car is an oddball, as it has the whole factory fitted AMG body kit, uprated brakes and exhaust, but is standard mechanically. The bodykit really suits the car and makes the standard issue version (on smaller wheels) look like a very frumpy thing. The car has been a paradigm of reliability and service (but only for 1 year !) but, it isn't perfect. The engine is anaemic and gutless - same power as the Audi 2.5 tdi, but half the torque, so struggles to deliver acceleration. Fuel is not much worse than the Audi at around 28mpg overall, but the car is used by my wife for a short, hilly, county roads commute to and from work, so this is not a good indicator. ...Audi’s aluminum A8 is a handsome beast. There’s nothing retro or classic about it – the rounded shape is bang up to date. Despite its soft styling it still looks strong, as a big car should without being overly aggressive. The rear end is square, but the kicked-up flanks look perfect. Despite being quite light, the 2.8-litre version is certainly no hot rod, with just 174bhp and 185lb ft of torque on offer. The 3.7-litre versions obviously improve substantially on these figures, but add seven and a half grand to the asking price at the same time. The 2.8-litre takes 11 lazy seconds to reach 60mph and the in-gear times are sluggish, too. In the engine’s defence it feels smooth and strong, if not quick-revving. The automatic gearbox is partly to blame. It has no ‘sport’ mode, and while it swaps ratios smoothly, it often refuses to kick... Read review

...The hunt for the Audi A3 we now own began after we decided the escalating petrol prices were no longer for us. Running a 2.6 V6 tends to get expensive at todays prices. The only replacement to my wifes exceptionally well behaved V6 Vectra had to be an Audi A3. Something small and fun for the adults to drive, but also well behaved, safe and with an air of prestige about it for when the kids are on board. We picked up an 98 (R), one owner, 90k mile with FSH example which could only be described as near immaculate. In stunning silver with 15" 6 spoke light alloy wheels. To drive the car feels as tight as I imagine it did when new, and handles exceptionally well thanks to Audi's many years experience in the rally field. Although the car does hold the promise of "sport" at best it is a warm hatch as opposed a hot hatch producing 125 bhp... Read review

...I am now on my second A6 Avant 1.8T so I guess you could say that speaks for itself, but company car policy dictates I drive an Audi. I bought the first one in Germany and imported it and was treated like traitor by Audi (UK). Unfortunately, I had plenty of dealings with them as the car filled up with water inside every time it rained. This in turn found its way into the electrics and all sorts of problems ensued. It took nearly two years to get fixed and in the end I had to drive it back to where I bought it....in Germany. Thanks again Audi UK. I have just taken delivery of a UK spec'd and delivered A6 Avant 1.8T SE that has an unusual extra. 7 seats. I also own an Espace, but I needed something a bit nippier to transport the kids around. No luggage space with the kiddies seats in the boot, but I'm used to that. You can take the last... Read review
