Medion - Audio / Visual Tranmitter / Receiver

Advantages: Portable, Easy set up, Cheap, Design, Functionality
Disadvantages: None noted

.... The set up for these units is really easy, the transmitter is plugged into your audio / video source ( currently plugged into my sky box ) and then the receiver is plugged in via a scart adaptor - the unit itself provides the 3 plug Audio Left / Right and video. There is also a scart adaptor supplied, which you plug the 3 leads into, and then the connection is plugged into your scart socket on your television. The units themselves have a switch, to allow you to change the frequency being transmitted, to 4 different channels, this helps you to set them to the best picture / sound quality, depending on interference in your environment ( such as cordless phones / microwave / hairdryers etc ) I have to admit - that the picture and sound quality is really, really clear. It looks as if I have a second set top box in my bedroom - no loss...

High Definition Awesomeness!

Advantages: Great picture, supports upto 1080p, supports surround sound.
Disadvantages: May not be the best cable for your TV

.... I find the best display mode to use is 720p as the image is more fluid and things appear to be smoother when there is alot of fast paced action on the screen. If however you are playing a slower paced game such as Tiger Woods, I find its best to switch to 1080i as the image is more detailed. I haven't been able to test the 1080p mode as my TV doesn't support it but I imagine it works fine giving you the detail of 1080i with the fluidity of 720p. Over composite the picture isn't so good, it loses all its fidelity but if your purchasing this cable you probably are planning to use it on an HD set. Price: This cable should set you back around £20 and sells at all good video game stores such as Game and Gamestation. You may be able to find a better deal at online retailers such as Amazon.co.uk and Play.com. There are cheaper alternatives...

...About 2 years ago I invested in a Philips Video Sender system; the idea of a Video Sender is that a image whether it be DVD, Video, Or Satellite could be sent to another room in the house. This seemed like a great idea to me especially as at the time we used to watch a lot of TV in bed. Having invested in this system I soon got quite annoyed, you could not move about in the room (upstairs) without interfering with the picture. Within a week I had taken the system out and packed it up. We recently moved into a house at the base of some hills; as a result its impossible to get a television signal via a conventional Ariel; we had to get sky in just to get a picture. Trouble being is that we lost the ability to see TV upstairs, and did not really want to pay out additional money to have another receiver installed at the top of the house...

...THE BASICS OF THE UNIT Basically if you have a unit, be it a DVD player, a sky box or a video, that has a scart or a composite signal output then this unit will allow to view the signal in another location (up to 30m from the unit in a house) without having to fit a wire. You can even go to the second room with your remote control and change the channel over from there so no more running up and down the stairs to get the program you want. Another good use that I can think of for this unit is if you had some AV equipment that you wanted to have hidden away in a cupboard but still be able to control it then you could put the units away and just have the receiver on show. Or if you had a CCTV system and didn?t want someone to know where it was being recorded you could come out of a switcher unit into this and send it remotely to a VCR...

...This phone is simply amazing. it does everything you could possibly want to do on the move with a phone. video calls, audio calls, mp3 player, digital camera, internet browser. Camera: the camera is great, with auto focus, red eye removal and a built in flash, you can get a great picture without having a digital camera with you. Calls: it has all the things you would need to make an audio or a video call, the quality is good and the speaker phone ability is also a nice addition. memory: the built in memory will take quite alot of pictures without it running out and memory cards for it are very cheap. durability: i have dropped my phone several times and it is still in tip top shape, bar a few scratches of course. the screen on the front seems to never get scratched though. i have never had any problems with a low battery life...
