...replacement car insurance - if the windscreen couldn't be replaced before Wednesday I'd better claim on that. She gleefully informed me that I would have to fill in a claim form and there was a £250 excess! That is not clear from policy document!!! I phoned the RAC number she gave me which was the same switchboard as Autoglass!!!! Have arranged for the job to be done locally and am collecting the car in the a.m. Will certainly not be renewing with this co....

AutoTrader Car Insurance - just DON'T do it!

Advantages: I got insurance on my car
Disadvantages: They don't even bother reading emails + double your premium because of their incompetence.

...I had bought a replacement car when the old one went to that scrapyard in the sky, and was keen to find some value-for-money insurance. So, I went on a couple of comparison sites such as gocompare.com, confused.com and moneysupermarket.com. Some of the prices were pretty good, I guess since I have been claim free since passing my test in 1995, female driver, only doing the social, domestic and pleasure (i.e. school runs, grocery shopping, bill paying, ferrying elderly relatives about etc) so I decided to upgrade from Third Party Fire & Theft to fully comp. I had had a quote off the insurer I was with (Hastings) but they wanted £25 to change my policy and another £80 because I had gone from an N reg to a T reg. Hence, much cheaper to go elsewhere and tell them to shove it. So, the AutoTrader insurance was slightly better priced...

...I love Summer and I love sunshine but I do hate getting into the car when it has been standing in the sun - the heat that builds up in there can be unbearable. Then I saw an advert for the Auto Cool Solar Car Vent in a brochure from Coopers of Stortford. A little device which fits on to your car window and takes some of the hot air out of your car. You search them all and insure with the cheapest, and in this case More Than was the cheapest which was fine because I had saved some money. All was well until one day someone crashed into the rear of my daughter's car pushing her into someone else. 1st time car insurance costs

...Im 18 and a student, so have very little money in the first place. Ive just paid for all my lessons and managed to pass my test...so what comes next, buying a car. EMERGENCY STOP! 'Wrong!!!' before you buy a car you now have to look at home much your going to get stung on the insurance. I can understand the premiums being higher, after all, im an 18 year old male with no NCB's and apparently thats the worst thing to be, but havent things got a little out of hand?!? I was eyeing up a nice Rover Metro, only going to cost me £200 and went for quotes, the first one was £2400!!! no wonder so many people are driving around with no insurance. So its now got to the point where buying the car is the easy bit, paying for the insurance is now a much bigger deal. Im assuming all these 'No win, no fee' companies that advertise on the TV...

But whilst looking I chanced upon a site called ?AutoSource? which specialised in importing cars from the continent, specifically Audi, BMW, VW, Ford, Seat and Saab. At this point I should mention that there seem to be a number of sites that have in some way got the name ?AutoSource? and this can lead to great confusion. ...This Grand theft auto really takes a step forward from the others, the graphics are amazing, if you look at the cars they have so much detail in unbelieveable and when you hit other cars the damage to the cars is much more realistic now and now if you damage the car to much the engine will cut off and when you accelerate it will just keep trying to turn the engine on which is quite cool. The way you walk and other pedestrians walk is much more realistic now too, the way you drive is more realistic its quite hard to get used to on the old games you could go round corners really fast but on this you have to slow down for them otherwise you wont make the corner, which is good because its more realistic but you could say its not as fun. You can also activate headlights in the car now which is quite cool. You can now do other things...
