AutoCAD LT97 ? AutoGLAD I?m using it!

...As you are probably aware, there are literally tons of different versions of AutoCAD to choose from. AutoCAD LT97 is purely the version that I?m using at the moment and for your typical tech. drawing office duties, I can?t think of a better package for the price. I have worked with numerous versions myself (starting with release 11) and I have also encountered release 14 and AutoCAD 2000. Both r14 and 2000 supersede 97 but you?ll only really need to use these if you?re pretty involved with 3D/Modelling/MOSS work, either that or you tend to incorporate tons of images within your drawings. If not, then there?s not really a need to bother with either r14 or 2000. To be honest, the sheer cost of either of these alternatives will be enough to put most (smaller) firms off completely (you could probably buy another car). For you folks...

Advantages: Smaller files, faster loading and saving, EXCELLENT for 2D.
Disadvantages: 3D capabilities could still be improved.

...are smaller, about half the size as a 2000 format (which is how AutoCAD 2002 also saves .dwg) now this is a nice production change because files open, close and save much faster. We are using less server disk space now as well. The thing I find troubling here is sharing files. I cannot save as earlier than AutoCAD 2000 version drawing, many smaller companies don't upgrade as rapidly as larger ones do and before you know it, people can't read drawings! There are some work arounds available though. User Interface The background image of AutoCAD 2004 looks very much like AutoCAD 2002 when one first starts the program, a close look at the icons will show you what influence Windows XP has had on AutoCAD. an excellent entry level program

...building a house or even some wort of plan equipment this package will handle what you need. there are newer version of autocad out up to autocad 2006 but with all package when they first come will cost you thousands of pounds and do practically the same thing but just have a few tweaked features. the only downside to this package is when you work with raster images instead of the picture printing out in the quality it is taken you may have to tweak it in the printers settings but this is no problem once you have found te settings. no great lot of power is required to do 2d drawings such as plans howeveer when working on large 3d models i recommend that you have a fairly decent graphics card which will allow you to work alot more smoothly. the help facility in cad is excellent if you are strugglingthe remember how to use a command such...

Review of AutoCAD 2000 Complete package

A great balance of performance and price

Advantages: Good performance/reliability
Disadvantages: None to mention

...This processor came with my new computer just over a month ago, and so far, I've been more than impressed with it. The system I baught uses Vista, has 1GB of RAM, a 250GB harddrive and an Nvidia 8600GT graphics card. I use alot CPU stressing programs like Autocad and a fair few games, and so far I havn't had any major problems, however this is a Mid-range CPU so dont expect miracles with performance, but for the mainstream user and the moderate gamer this card will be more than enough. I can't really dicuss price, because the processor came as part of my PC, however I would judge because of the good balance between performance and reliability, somewhere between £70 - £90 would be a fair price to pay....

Living the digital life.

Advantages: Excellent updates from the website

...As I've previously bought Simcity3000 and Simcity2000, I thought that I would give The Sims a go. Kind of bizarre, orgainising other peoples lives but it can get obssessional (or perhaps that's just me?)There's a good range of options for housing, clothing, people and the website is updated quite frequently. There also seem to be alot of sites from fans of the game. The only disappointment was the children - they never grow up and I would have liked to see the people interacting outside of the houses - like shopping and at work. All in all, another great game of its type. If you liked controlling your own city, you'll like controlling peoples' lives....

Disadvantages: a real con that you have to pay for itemised billing

...After 2 years of appalling service at the hands of One-2-None, I finally decided enough was enough and in January 2000 I switched to vodafone. What a relief! Although my vodafone contract works out slightly more expensive each month, it is worth it simply because I now have a mobile I can rely on. It?s still good value at approx. £15 per month and this includes a whopping 500 minutes of free off-peak calls. I have never come even close to using up my allowance (and they rollover your remaining minutes each month!). On the downside, you have to pay £1.50 + VAT if you want itemised billing, your voicemail calls are only free if you collect them using your offpeak, free time and text messaging is more expensive. But coverage and reception is good and I think that?s what counts....

Stereophonics Stormer!!

Advantages: value for money, songwords, good tracks

...'Performance and Cocktails', the 2nd album produced by the Stereophonics is really amazing. I absolutely love 'the bartender and the thief' as it has a really catchy beat. The album, priced at around £15 for the CD contains 13 tracks which are all good. The album was a nominee for the Brit. awards 2000 and i'm not surprized!! The cover of the CD is a really good design and the CD leaflet contains all the song words which is really helpful. I would really recommend this CD to anyone who likes pop/rock music....

cim city 3000 even better

...Sim city 3000 is a big improvement on the last one. I bought the 2 weeks ago and i'm still adicted to it. You can blow your building up cause fires or even earth quakes and even better you can make ufos fly over and this cause riots and also there are twisters. There are so many ways to distroy your city thats the fun of it. Also there are so many levels to this game you can have a city in the 19 houndreds or at the present day with massive skyscrapers, also there are many people to meet and to give you advise on different areas. i think that this game is value for money and is much better than sim city 2000, i think that this game is sutiable for all ages, it is one of the best game i have ever played....
