If, like this reviewer, you haven't quite got round to dominating the open road, you may find that the theory test is simply an unwanted and irritating distraction from the more terrifying ordeal of learning not to bump into other cars. If so, this new CD-ROM will be a valuable addition to your fight against the driving examiners and other drivers. Endorsed by a collection of impressive groups, such as
Autotrader and What Car?, the CD-ROM contains the entire official theory test questions for both vehicle and motorbike licences in the UK and Northern Ireland. The questions from the theory test are juggled around and selected at random, to ensure that you really do know enough before you take the driving test. The CD-ROM also contains a comprehensive list of contacts for everything from accessories to car and motorbike retailers, and a collection of driving schools from around the country.There is no denying that the theoretical side of learning to drive is well covered in this CD-ROM. The layout is uncomplicated and easy to follow, making the mock tests far easier to navigate than the minefield of the driving exam. Although the graphics are fairly pedestrian, they are easy on the eye. And perhaps, when it is getting to grips with the theory which is the most important thing at hand, the absence of pretty pictures is just as well. --Toby Green
