Amped Out!

Advantages: Very Funny, really quirky, very good to pick up and play, value for money ++

...Amped 3 is the third game in a line of snowboarding games from Indie Built/2K Sports and it expands on the previous two games in the fact that again it is a X-Box exclusive. The game was released with the console as part of the launch line ups therefore one of the first next generation games available. Amped 3 is as i said a snowboarding game, but there are things in this game which set it apart from rivals such as the SSX series. Not only is your character fully customisable from what hair style they have to what shoes they wear and everything inbetween, Amped 3 is also a sandbox game but i will come onto that later in the review. Pioneer DV-600AV quality for good price

Advantages: High quality video, supports many formats
Disadvantages: Confusing labels on remote controller

...Pioneer DV-600AV was interesting for me because it has possibility to play DVD-Audio and SACD and it has got integrated decoder with analog output for 5.1. Extra interesting is the quality of sound which some DVD players are having bad quality. Quality of sound was pretty good with nice serve of acustic which i wasnt able to heat on my older players. I/O Back side includes HDMI, component Video, S-video, audio 5.1, scart, optic and koaxial output.On the front panel is placed conector USB 1.1 for USB devices. There should be more conectors, but on the other hand we shall be glad that none of the important connectors is missing. Extern USB devices are not supported as manufacturer has written. Great AV amp, lacking slightly in stereo.

...Like the previous reviewer I previously owned a Sony out of the box system and upgraded to the 606 and 5001.2s. The results have been magical, when I first took the plunge into surround sound I was astounded by the leap in sound quality and upgrading to separate amp, dvd player and speakers was a similar gap. With the generous sub included and proper set up the amp is able to manage both heavy action films (my personal fav on it being The 300) but is also more than suitable for playing my girlfriends chick flicks. The only place where the Onkyo lacks is in the stereo department. I've just bought an Arcam CD192 which i feel could be greatly improved by bi-amping with a simple 2 channel. This however is overly picking as if you wish for great stereo you buy a stereo amp. In conclusion this is a great AV amp and a good stereo amp...

The best AV-AMP on the market for 200pounds

...A Dolby Digital AND DTS surround sound amp for just £200?!? Yep - and it's pretty damn good too! Sherwood stuff is sold in the UK by Richer Sounds. (In the US it's sold in lots of places from what I've seen). As it doesn't have a bigname brand many audio geeks/snobs will turn their noses up at it. If you are not dominated by brandnames then read on! The AMP is very sturdily constructed (read large and heavy) with a good quality feel to all of the controls. It is not flimsy in any way. It is very nicely featured with lots of AV switching inputs, pre-amp outputs and even a switched mains-electric output for a powered subwoofer. All inputs are controlled by a dial on the front or the Remote-Control. A digital audio input (copper) is also featured for easy DVD hookup. The Amp is pretty powerful as you might expect...

...The snowboarding genre is kind of an old one now.. original extreme sport games like Coolboarders, 1080 really brough extreme sports to the table, bringing oportunaties for games like Tony Hawk and Dave Mirra. An A/V receiver with the WOW factor

Review of FastTrack - Nullsoft WinAmp

V-Amp2 - A rack of amps and effects at a low cost

Advantages: A multitude of sounds easily accessed at a low price
Disadvantages: No power off switch, some bits hard to get at

...I am actually reviewing the V-Amp 2 as that is what I have and is the newer version. The vamp is a similar unit to the POD in tat it is an amp modelling unit with multiple effects but costs about half as much. I have tried both and cannot see any real difference in quality. There are a number of Amps accessable and also speaker emulations. Also the usual effects (Echo, Phaser, Compressor etc). You can only use one effect at a time and that is a little limiting however with the amps you get a very good variety. From clean through blues amps to out and out hard rock you can get the sound you want. It is easy to access the presets but you will soon find yourself modifying them and saving your own. This is fairly easy to do but you will need to read the manual (This can be confusing but if you take one thing at a time you will get...
