...I have seen video senders (used to send video and audio wirelessly between devices) from years ago and they were expensive and not very reliable, with picture break up being common. Also most were unable to control the sending device using a remote. Whilst browsing round my local Tesco I happened across the Technika AV104 video senders at just under £20 a pair. Advantages: Great LCD, Battery Life, Versatility, just an awesome device.
Disadvantages: Converting your DVD's for it can be technical.

...to control your receiver box! :D A worldwide compatible charger (again a really short lead!) with a number of different plug conversions for use around the world. And very sensibly, a remote control that can control the AV500 from a distance, thus underlining their belief that the AV500 is a mobile DVR. That list may have omitted a few things! =) And one of the coolest ideas yet, you can buy a Digi-cam add-on which allows you to record movies direct to the AV500!!!!! This can be helmet mounted to capture extreme sport videos! As an avid snowboarder this alone makes me pumped to buy it. As you can see the AV500 is a tricked out little wonder and it has been very well thought out by Archos. ...= Basic AV sender function info If you got a videosource in your front room (i.e a DVD/video player, SKY set-top box etc.) and want to watch it in a remote locations (i.e. upstairs), you have typically 3 options. You can either 1) move the videosource upstairs (or buy an extra one for upstairs), 2) run a video cable upstairs or 3) buy one of these wireless video sender. option one and two is not convient and could be expenisive. So many people op to buy a wireless video senders instead. wireless Video senders comes in a pair (transmitter and receiver). You connect the wireless transmitter to the video source downstairs, and connect the wireless receiver to your upstairs TV. Bingo! ...video i started wishing for some kind of kickstand that would prop the AV320 prop up on a flat surface so i could watch video without holding the unit. You can purchase this seperate with a built in cover. The AV320 includes Archos DVR 100 video input module which allows you to connect a video device's output for the AV320 to record. This module also has an IR receiver so you can use the units remote control as well. Also included are the needed audio and video patch cables. Your video input choices are composite and S-Video. The AV320 supports four video bit rates, ranging from 500Kbits/sec, to 2Mbits/sec, and given its 20GB hard drive, it can store a lot of video. The reason i chose Yamaha was that i had been told on numerous occasions how excellent these home cinema products were at recreating the cinema experience. I wasn't let down. ...I would consider myself, at best, an amatuer reviewer. I recently received my ASW610. Because of stock issues, I first used a ASW600 subbie and this was replaced by the ASW610. I have wooden floors in a 25m2 room, so perhaps I do not get the full benefit of the speaker. Comparing the 2 subbies, I find the ASW610 as good, if not better than the ASW600. It might be smaller, but it performs better. I only set the volume at about 50% which significantly adds to the movie and music expeirence. The subbie gets on with business wihtout overpowering the other components. From a space point of view, it is unsightly and out of the way. I use a Sony STR DA3200 AV receiver with a Denon 1930, B&W 684, HTM62 & LM1 surround speakers. Overall a very good combination.... Read review

...This is a great looking system, and has a great sound but only after you have worked out how to get the best out of it. The manual assumes a certain level of knowledge regarding AV and Hi-Fi set up and terminology, which is not always useful. I certain amount of trial and error may be required but the Average Man in the Street. To compound this the remote is a clone of an old panasonic tv unit that appears to have been reprogrammed to handle the Celestion controls with little thought of ergonomics. However, if this unit finds itself in the hands of an AV officinardo, and the style and sound deserves it to be, and who has a unversial remote, then the owner should be presented with a rich and rewarding movie sound and sharp clear images. The component output was top of the line when the AVR300 was released and still is the best way... Read review

...Wow. i bought this item to replace a sony subwoofer that was a passive unit. the passive unit was ok but did not have the full depth that i wanted. this arrived and whoops it has the depth alright. a massive amount in comparison. fantastic. i linked it up with my Sony AV receiver and bam it filled the room. and vibrated the floor and upset the dogs. it has a large range of adjustment too. the connections on the rear are easy to access. the appearance is good and does not intrude. just remember buy a long mono phone bacle so you can place the unit in the correct part of the room. this when in full flow places you in the movie rather than somewhere near it like many of the passive units. go for an active PSB it is excellent... ...Yamaha are well known for their 'natural' sound. Having owned previous Yamaha AV kit, I purchased this receiver and was very impressed with the sound - it's very clear and expansive. It is very good for both music and movies. It has onboard decoding for the latest compressed audio standards eg Dolby Digital Ex and DTS. It is easy to set up with clearly marked inputs. It can accept virtually every piece of AV kit you can think of. The speaker terminals are quality screw terminals as opposed to flimsy spring clips which don't accomodate thick speaker wire well and are liable to break. All the buttons and dial feel solid and demonstrate the quality of the build. It's a nice looking piece of kit and is a sort of brushed aluminium - in a champagne silver colour. I don't use the radio element of the receiver, so can't comment on that... Read review
