Quick fix colour from Aveda

Advantages: great to liven hair colour up

Aveda do a whole range of different colour conditioners to suite every hair type, but for anyone with red hair (coloured or natural), brunettes with red tones or black hair that want extra shine then this really is the best conditioner. Its as gentle as any good conditioner should be, but with the added benefit of giving extra colour. One word of warning though, your hands do go slighlt red when you have applied it, so you need to really wash them after, and if you are leaving it on for longer than 5 mins then I'd wrap your hair in an old dark coloured towel. (it does wash out though, so it doesn't matter if the towel is white)....

Aveda hand relief - my hands smell like cakes!!

Aveda Clove Conditioner for brunettes

...I bought the clove conditioner and shampoo as a set from lookfantastic.com, as I'd had such a good experience with Shampure. Sadly, this conditioner didn't meet my expectations, which was a shame as I wanted to like it due to the natural ingredients used. It is a very thick conditioner, almost like a paste, so is difficult to spread throughout the hair. I think it was probably a little too rich for my fine hair as it weighed it down too much. Due to it's rich texture, I could only use it through the ends of my hair. It is a very effective colourant, more so than the shampoo alone, but this caused problems as after prolonged use the ends of my hair had picked up more colour than the top. It also stained my bath, my shower curtain, my hands and my manicure! I ended up having to use latex gloves with it which meant that I could...

Aveda Sap Moss Shampoo

I have already tried the Aveda range before, and was impressed by this product when I saw it on QVC. You can also buy it from Aveda hair salons and over the internet from Aveda.com. This is a pricey product. It comes in a range of sizes from 250ml to a full litre pump bottle. Prices start at about £10 to £40 for the litre pump. However, it is economical - a little goes a long way. I have a friend who bought the litre bottle and it lasted for 6 months of daily use. I bought the 250ml bottle as part of a special offer that included the conditioner for £20. The secret of the shampoo is that you leave it on for a few minutes for the moisturising benefits of the Sap Moss to take effect before you wash it off...

...As part of my latest mid life crisis I decided that I was going to dye my hair exactly how I wanted it. I wasn't going to worry about the sharp intake of breath from my Mum when she saw it (or the sharp intake of breath from my husband when he found out how much it all cost). Aveda Loose Powder

Advantages: great finish
Disadvantages: smallish pot

...This is my new favourite loose powder (which was previously Lancome). What's special about it is that it's the first loose powder which never irritates my skin, even if I don't wear a foundation or base underneath. My guess is that's because Aveda don't use mineral oil in any of their products, unlike most powders on the market. (it does contain talc though, so won't be suitable for those who have a sensitivity to that). The other great thing about this is that it's absolutely compatible with every other foundation I've tried it with - brands ranging from Maybelline to Nars and Boots to Sisley. Most powders work with some brands and not others, but here the colour and texture always stays true....

Colouring with naturtint

...Yes I admit it I am going grey. I coloured my hair recently using Naturtint hair colour. Naturtint make a range of 24 Permanent Hair Colorants, from Ebony black , chestnut reds through to Blondes. It is also possible to mix these colours to get your own individual shade . My hair is not a vibrant colour its a greying mouse brown. Since this was the first time I was using this brand of hair dye I decided to play safe and a I chose hazel nut blonde. they don?t do mouse brown. I bought my pack from a health store. I think you should be able to buy it from health shops chemists and on line too, one site selling is http://www.herbsgardenshealth.com. I paid £9 for a bottle of this colour. It is more expensive than others I have used in the past .., but I think I have developed an allergy to one of the other hair dyes and bored...

Aveda Scalp Benefits Shampoo

Advantages: Cleans and conditions hair fantastically. Smells gorgeous. Made from natural ingredients.
Disadvantages: Slightly more pricey than some other brands (but worth it)

...After years of searching for a product which would properly clean my very oily hair I was recommended this product by my local Aveda retailer. It is fantastic! After just one wash three people commented on how shiny my hair was and I have had nothing but compliments ever since! After using this product in combination with the Scalp Benefits Conditioner for over a year my hair is in great condition even though I blow dry and straighten (using super hot GHD straighteners) every day! And where I was having to wash my hair every morning it now lasts a couple of days before it needs to be washed again. The product is all natural and has a gorgeous dandilion and burdock smell. Well done Aveda for this wonderful product!...
