How I got My Glow Back
Review of Aveda Tourmaline Charged Hydrating Cream by  Canela

Advantages: Wonderful smell - fresh yet warm, smooth texture, makes skin glow.
Disadvantages: It's not cheap, but worth it.

...I have just tried Aveda Tourmaline Charged Hydrating Cream, courtesy of a shop assistant who gave me a sample while I was shopping for shampoo. In a matter of 3 days, using it morning and evening, it transformed my previously dull, greyish, and dry skin into something altogether different: My face feels smooth, my pores are a lot less visible, and the same goes for the stress wrinkles I had developed on my forehead and around my eyes. My skin looks and feels healthy. The smell and texture is wonderful. It absorbes very well, yet leaves a very fine protective layer on the skin - a sign of a good creme. It actually contains finely ground tourmaline particles which mineralise the skin, and I think minerals are extremely important. Just to make this clear, I am not a big fan of expensive and high tech face creams. I have tried various... Read review

Bye-bye to dry skin
Review of Aveda Tourmaline Charged Hydrating Cream by  judgejaq

Advantages: Brightens, hydrates and plumps skin,
Disadvantages: slightly on the pricey side

...I don't think I would have thought to buy this cream, even though I'm a fan of Aveda hair products - to be honest, "tourmaline charged" sounds just a little bit gimmicky - but I was recently given a jar and what a revelation! Recommended for normal to dry skin, to protect, hydrate and energise skin, it's much lighter than I expected, almost like a thick lotion (so be careful opening the jar) but goes on feeling like a very rich cream. It's very easily absorbed and smells fabulous - very fresh and natural. More importantly, it's non-greasy and doesn't leave your face shiny. I have slightly sensitive skin, but with this I had no reaction - no reddening, tingling, stinging or hotness. After using it for over a week, I can honestly say I've seen a real difference. My skin looks much brighter and radiant and the skin tone is evened out... Read review

Aveda Sap Moss Shampoo
Review of Aveda Sap Moss Shampoo by  chris706

Advantages: Makes your hair smell and feel fantastic
Disadvantages: Can be pricey.

...Aveda makes a large range of hair care products. They are not tested upon animals and are made from natural ingredients. I have already tried the Aveda range before, and was impressed by this product when I saw it on QVC. You can also buy it from Aveda hair salons and over the internet from Aveda.com. This is a pricey product. It comes in a range of sizes from 250ml to a full litre pump bottle. Prices start at about £10 to £40 for the litre pump. However, it is economical - a little goes a long way. I have a friend who bought the litre bottle and it lasted for 6 months of daily use. I bought the 250ml bottle as part of a special offer that included the conditioner for £20. The secret of the shampoo is that you leave it on for a few minutes for the moisturising benefits of the Sap Moss to take effect before you wash it off... Read review

Look after our planet as well as your hair
Review of Aveda Curessence by  Keeway

Advantages: Does what it says
Disadvantages: expensive

.... The product itself. It comes in a cream bottle – the size that I have is 250ml. The top is a sort of teal colour. These colours appear to be a characteristic of most of the Aveda hair product range. On opening the bottle, you are greeted with a pleasant, but distinctive hair salon smell – not that I have been to one for years. Squeezing a tiny smidgen onto my hand, it is a whitish cream, which when rubbed into my hand is really creamy and soft (do they make hand cream I want to know!). Integrating it with water produces a wonderfully clean aroma, and transforms the water to a very velvety feeling. You have to admit that this sounds like heaven, if only the silkiness/velvetiness does not transform into stickiness on the hair! I have taken so long to write this, that my hair is now dry, and I cannot feel any residue... Read review

Aveda Sap Moss Shampoo - Great for thick hair
Review of Aveda - Brilliant Range by  Bertie2000

Advantages: Great for thick hair
Disadvantages: Hard to get out of the tube , needs a bit of work to lather up

...I was given a 125ml tube of Aveda's Sap Moss Shampoo by a friend. I have long, thick hair with a tendency towards dryness and split ends - and I am in my 40s so have a weather eye on the grey coming through .I have abused my locks with colour for a few years now!(I am female by the way!) This shampoo was a revelation! It's quite hard to get out of the tube and doesn't lather up very much so you could be mislead into thinking it isn't really working. Persevere ! After I had had a good go at lathering and then rinsed it off (adding a bog standard conditioner after) - I then left my hair to dry. Well - what a surprise - my hair had more body and softness than it's had in ages. Not overly shiney but much more manageable and with great texture. Also the split ends seemed to have all but disappeared after use! I put it all down... Read review

Aveda Scalp Benefits Shampoo
Review of Aveda Scalp Benefits Balancing Shampoo by  rgreen5

Advantages: Cleans and conditions hair fantastically. Smells gorgeous. Made from natural ingredients.
Disadvantages: Slightly more pricey than some other brands (but worth it)

...After years of searching for a product which would properly clean my very oily hair I was recommended this product by my local Aveda retailer. It is fantastic! After just one wash three people commented on how shiny my hair was and I have had nothing but compliments ever since! After using this product in combination with the Scalp Benefits Conditioner for over a year my hair is in great condition even though I blow dry and straighten (using super hot GHD straighteners) every day! And where I was having to wash my hair every morning it now lasts a couple of days before it needs to be washed again. The product is all natural and has a gorgeous dandilion and burdock smell. Well done Aveda for this wonderful product!... Read review

Close your eyes relax and-
Review of Aveda Pure Fume Anti-Humectant Pomade by  Connoisseur_Haggler

Advantages: it works! smooths tamed hair, satin finish, repels moisture, LASTS AGES!!!
Disadvantages: none..limited AVEDA shops in some regions , though many hair salon stock it!

...styled smooth finished “satin” look that tamed any straying hairs neatly into place. Not only did my hair look good, there was a subtle aroma that was sensational! With the “Aveda Feeling” .. I decided to investigate this product further. On a trip to US last year, a made a trip to the local AVEDA store and picked up a few shampoos, conditioners and this finishing product Pure-Fume Brilliant™ Anti-Humectant Pomade. Out of all the Aveda products I have tried this is definitely one of the best! This is a high shine finishing product you apply it to your hair after drying and styling to prevent friziness and it leaves your hair smooth and polished! How to use it~ It is a cream coloured wax (not a serum or glossing agent) and comes in a blue glass jar. I have found that the best way to use... Read review

Aveda Loose Powder
Review of Aveda Loose Powder by  merlina

Advantages: great finish
Disadvantages: smallish pot

...This is my new favourite loose powder (which was previously Lancome). What's special about it is that it's the first loose powder which never irritates my skin, even if I don't wear a foundation or base underneath. My guess is that's because Aveda don't use mineral oil in any of their products, unlike most powders on the market. (it does contain talc though, so won't be suitable for those who have a sensitivity to that). The other great thing about this is that it's absolutely compatible with every other foundation I've tried it with - brands ranging from Maybelline to Nars and Boots to Sisley. Most powders work with some brands and not others, but here the colour and texture always stays true.... Read review

Quick fix colour from Aveda
Review of Aveda Madder Root Conditioner by  monica2971

Advantages: great to liven hair colour up
Disadvantages: none

...of a salon' feel and look, and the colour was excellant. Aveda do a whole range of different colour conditioners to suite every hair type, but for anyone with red hair (coloured or natural), brunettes with red tones or black hair that want extra shine then this really is the best conditioner. Its as gentle as any good conditioner should be, but with the added benefit of giving extra colour. One word of warning though, your hands do go slighlt red when you have applied it, so you need to really wash them after, and if you are leaving it on for longer than 5 mins then I'd wrap your hair in an old dark coloured towel. (it does wash out though, so it doesn't matter if the towel is white).... Read review

ABOVE AND BEYOND WHAT
Review of Aveda Shampure by  moose

Advantages: Smells good, natural ingredients, extremely gentle, ethical, choice of bottle sizes
Disadvantages: Expensive, have to pay for the pump dispenser, doesn't state who suitable for, bit runny

...for 250ml – this doesn’t work out that much more expensive. Where to Buy ------------- This product is a salon exclusive product, which means you cannot pick up a bottle in Boots or Superdrug. But you can actually purchase this in places like Debenhams or John Lewis if you prefer the high street, or at an Aveda appointed salon (there are details at www.Aveda.com). There are also a few internet distributors like Lookfantastic.com that actually sell Aveda stuff but don’t expect it any cheaper off the net as you will have to pay postage and packaging too. Packaging ---------- I have one of their huge litre bottles gracing my bath side and I have to say that I like the way it looks, call me a shampoo snob but it actually looks as though I have a salon quality shampoo! The bottle itself is a cream plastic affair... Read review
