Review of Aveda Pure Fume Anti-Humectant Pomade by
Connoisseur_Haggler
Advantages: it works! smooths tamed hair, satin finish, repels moisture, LASTS AGES!!!
Disadvantages: none..limited AVEDA shops in some regions , though many hair salon stock it!
...…take a deep breath and engross yourself in the subtle floral aroma of jasmine, rose and many other pure flower and plant essences …this is the “AVEDA” feeling…
Aveda are one of the leading names in the hair care and beauty industry. They are most well known for the use of plant-derived ingredients, organically grown whenever possible. "Aveda" is an anagram from the word "Ayurveda" derived from the ancient healing traditions of India , it means "Knowledge of nature" in Sanskrit. Infact, the ancient Ayurvedic medicine is still practiced in India.
The Aveda product, Pure-Fume Brilliant™ Anti-Humectant Pomade is a finishing hair styling product. I first came across this product when my local hairstylist used it as a finishing product after my hair had been blow dried. The result was beautifully...

Universal Styling Creme - First Class
Review of Aveda - Brilliant Range by
CherylJ
Advantages: non-sticky, gives incredible shine
Disadvantages: only available in 200ml, no trial size
...as an excellent conditioning treatment).
The product is pricey (£14 for 200ml). Some of Aveda's products are available in small trial sizes but unfortunately not this one, to my knowledge. Remember, you can always ask the Aveda Consultant (if purchasing in a store) for a small sample. After all, £14 is a lot to spend on something that may not suit your hair (you never know!). Note, Aveda don't make official samples due to their stance on environmental issues (waste of material??)or so my local Consultant told me... unless she was trying to fob me off! However, if you ask nicely (they don't throw them at you!), they will fill a small tube with the product you wish to try at home.
Aveda Brilliant range also includes: Shampoo, Conditioner, Damage Control (heat-protecting spray), Forming Gel, Retexturing Gel, Anti-humectant Pomade (=anti...

Quality for blondes & grey hair
Review of Aveda Blue Malva Shampoo by
mrswombat
Advantages: effective. lovely to use
Disadvantages: quite pricey, not available in all areas
...This was one of the first colour-enhancing shampoos and is still probably the best. Aveda makes a whole range of shampoo to highlight various colours, and all are absolutely excellent quality. The really lovely thing about them is that they all use natural ingredients, and unlike some of the newer formulations, there's absolutely no chance of colour build up or hair damage. The Blue Malva neutralises yellow or brassy tones in blonde or grey hair - and it works. Like most of Aveda's stuff the smell is absolutely gorgeous too. If you want a stronger effect there's a conditioner to match (which I use fortnightly and leave on all night)...

MMMMMM MINTY
Review of Aveda Rosemary and Mint Conditioner by
jameshazlett
Advantages: Easy to use, Great texture, Nice smell, NO build-up
Disadvantages: not all that good for really dry hair
...If any of you out there are reading this have read any of my other opinions on Aveda Products, you will have gathered by now that I LIKE AVEDA.
I use Rosemary and Mint conditioner as my everyday conditioner. I have pretty good hair condition most of the time. I find that this water based conditioner from Aveda a real essential. It does not leave my hair heavy or fly away it just leaves it feeling naturally soft and smooth.
I use Rosemary and mint conditioner after every wash regardlesss of which Aveda shampoo I am using from the range, alternating with a colour treatment conditioner about once a week.
If you have very dry hair however you may need to use one of the other conditioners from the range. The Rosemary and Mint is lightest of all the conditioners in the Aveda range. It also may need to be supplimented with a treatment...

Aveda Scalp Benefits Shampoo
Review of Aveda Scalp Benefits Balancing Shampoo by
rgreen5
Advantages: Cleans and conditions hair fantastically. Smells gorgeous. Made from natural ingredients.
Disadvantages: Slightly more pricey than some other brands (but worth it)
...After years of searching for a product which would properly clean my very oily hair I was recommended this product by my local Aveda retailer. It is fantastic! After just one wash three people commented on how shiny my hair was and I have had nothing but compliments ever since! After using this product in combination with the Scalp Benefits Conditioner for over a year my hair is in great condition even though I blow dry and straighten (using super hot GHD straighteners) every day! And where I was having to wash my hair every morning it now lasts a couple of days before it needs to be washed again. The product is all natural and has a gorgeous dandilion and burdock smell. Well done Aveda for this wonderful product!...

Brilliant!
Review of Aveda Blue Malva Shampoo by
merlina
Advantages: fantastic results
Disadvantages: none
...Brilliant effect, brilliant value, brilliant smell, brilliantly gentle - just all round brilliant!
This is one of a series of Aveda shampoos designed to subtley enhance the colour of various shades and tones of hair.
Blue Malva aims to add silvery brightness to blond and grey hair, neutralising any brassiness or yellow shades, to make hair appear brighter and shinier.
It works equally well on dyed hair, and can help refresh all ashy and pearl tones between using a permanent or semi permanent colour.
Like all Aveda shampoos, you need to use very little and so it works out quite economical. Again, like most of Aveda's range, it's available in very small trial sizes so you can see if it suits you before you have to decide whether to invest in the full size...

As smooth as a babys bum
Review of Aveda Smoothing Body Polish by
sarahpervin
Advantages: it works!
Disadvantages: v.v.expensive
...As a sales rep for a local newspaper I have to visit lots of different customers one of which is a beauty salon who is a main stockist of aveda products. I’ve had lots of wonderful treatments there and have experienced a lot of aveda products. I find aveda products quite expensive but as they are all made of natural ingredients and not tested on animals then I don’t mind treating myself to something now and again. I bought avedas smoothing body polish because I’m going on holiday shortly and really need to get rid of that dry winter skin and also to have a go at targeting that horrible orange peel that seems to have adopted the back of my thighs!!
What is it?
------------
Aveda smoothing body polish is an exfoliant for the body, which contains finely ground walnut shells, kelp aloe and lavender. The cream itself looks like mustard...

Detox and get healthier hair
Review of Aveda Detoxifier Shampoo by
Petruska
Advantages: brilliant treatment for your hair especially if you are a swimmer
Disadvantages: not available in normal shops, can be pricy in salons
...HOW DID I COME ACROSS IT
First time I heard of Aveda was when I visited web pages beautybible.com which gave me the link to aveda.com home page. There you can find many and many products to suit everybody. You will also find out that these are organic product made using plants extracts, never tested on animals. Aveda uses product from many parts of the world and buys these from natives which improves third wold countries economy.
WHO IS IT GOOD FOR
It is brilliant for any type of hair which has been damaged of left untreated for a while and needs a boost or for anyone whose hair in sun a lot and most importantly for swimmers. I go swimming very often and most shampoos leave my hair chlorine smelling but Aveda Detoxfing shapoo removes it all.
SMELL
It smells lovely like a herbal garden because it contains aloe, sage and extracts from...

Organic Detox for your Hair and MORE
Review of Aveda Detoxifier Shampoo by
jameshazlett
Advantages: orgnic plant based ingredients. Results.
Disadvantages: Initial outlay for the range
...I have been using Aveda haircare products for a long time. I first discovered them in Los Angeles whilst visiting friends. Their Bathroom was like an Aveda Store, which gave me the advantage of trying most of the range without having to buy any products.
I love it, what can I say... It has a fresh natural smell made up from the various Organic herbs and plant extracts in it. But what is even better is that it works, and in a non drying way as many detox shampoos do.
I use this once or twice week before using other products from the Aveda range. It is and should be used as a pre-wash. ie. before your regular shampoo or hair treatment.
If you get exposed to enviromental pollution and lets face it who does'nt these days? This shampoo is for you. It takes out all the cigerette smoke, smog, pollen, hair styling products etc out of you...

Aveda Loose Powder
Review of Aveda Loose Powder by
merlina
Advantages: great finish
Disadvantages: smallish pot
...This is my new favourite loose powder (which was previously Lancome). What's special about it is that it's the first loose powder which never irritates my skin, even if I don't wear a foundation or base underneath. My guess is that's because Aveda don't use mineral oil in any of their products, unlike most powders on the market. (it does contain talc though, so won't be suitable for those who have a sensitivity to that). The other great thing about this is that it's absolutely compatible with every other foundation I've tried it with - brands ranging from Maybelline to Nars and Boots to Sisley. Most powders work with some brands and not others, but here the colour and texture always stays true....
