...Aveda makes a large range of hair care products. They are not tested upon animals and are made from natural ingredients. I have already tried the Aveda range before, and was impressed by this product when I saw it on QVC. You can also buy it from Aveda hair salons and over the internet from Aveda.com. This is a pricey product. It comes in a range of sizes from 250ml to a full litre pump bottle. Prices start at about £10 to £40 for the litre pump. However, it is economical - a little goes a long way. I have a friend who bought the litre bottle and it lasted for 6 months of daily use. I bought the 250ml bottle as part of a special offer that included the conditioner for £20. The secret of the shampoo is that you leave it on for a few minutes for the moisturising benefits of the Sap Moss to take effect before you wash it off...

Aveda Scalp Benefits Shampoo

Advantages: Cleans and conditions hair fantastically. Smells gorgeous. Made from natural ingredients.
Disadvantages: Slightly more pricey than some other brands (but worth it)

...After years of searching for a product which would properly clean my very oily hair I was recommended this product by my local Aveda retailer. It is fantastic! After just one wash three people commented on how shiny my hair was and I have had nothing but compliments ever since! After using this product in combination with the Scalp Benefits Conditioner for over a year my hair is in great condition even though I blow dry and straighten (using super hot GHD straighteners) every day! And where I was having to wash my hair every morning it now lasts a couple of days before it needs to be washed again. The product is all natural and has a gorgeous dandilion and burdock smell. Well done Aveda for this wonderful product!...

Aveda Sap moss shampoo

...This shampoo and conditioner saved my hair. After years of blow drying and straightening my hair was left frazzled dry like straw at the ends and my naturally straightish (but with a kink in it) hair would dry all poofy without any heat. After initial uses ? I did notice my hair to be softer but it wasn?t until I finished a whole bottle of both (the shampoo and coditioner) that I realised that it had really nourished and added sooo much moisture to my hair. When I left it to dry naturally it was beginning to go back to the way it did before I destroyed it. The shampoo has a wonderfully thick creamy texture. It is different in that it is the shampoo that you have to leave on for longer before washing off and the conditioner you can apply and wash off immediately. The only downside I would say is the smell ? it kind of smells a bit ?earthy...

rich shampoo for rich moisturised locks!

Advantages: very moisturising ideal for post-treatment (colouring/perming/straightened hair)
Disadvantages: can be too heavy for those with fine stright hair

...I generally find aveda shampoo's and conditioners to be something of a hit and miss..some are either very very good and others leave my hair looking straw like and my scalp itchy... in the case of sap moss I would firmly put this into the former catergory. It was reccomended to me when my hair was at its driest and this certainly softened it up. It comes long tubes and the shampoo has a very unusually thick texture. It is actually thicker in consistancy to alot of conditioners I've used even! Has a lovely earthy woodsy smell and I found I didnt have to condition my hair afer every single wash, with overly processed hair thats really saying something! While it is very rich it does clean th scalp very well without stripping it of oils however you may consider alternating with a clarifying shampoo like their shampure to stop your hair...

A 200ml bottle looks exactly as it does on the picture and costs about 13 pounds from a hairdresser. ...I was given a 125ml tube of Aveda's Sap Moss Shampoo by a friend. I have long, thick hair with a tendency towards dryness and split ends - and I am in my 40s so have a weather eye on the grey coming through .I have abused my locks with colour for a few years now!(I am female by the way!) This shampoo was a revelation! It's quite hard to get out of the tube and doesn't lather up very much so you could be mislead into thinking it isn't really working. Persevere ! After I had had a good go at lathering and then rinsed it off (adding a bog standard conditioner after) - I then left my hair to dry. Well - what a surprise - my hair had more body and softness than it's had in ages. Not overly shiney but much more manageable and with great texture. ...I was having a really bad hair day a couple of weeks ago, though it was my own fault as the night before I hadn't washed my hair out of laziness! I have the type of hair which does need washing on a daily basis or else it looks greasy, dull and lifeless the day after. My hair was that bad due to it not being washed that it made me feel really awful and self conscious. A work colleague recommended that I try Batiste Dry Shampoo for such occassions. I took her advice and purchased a bottle from Tescos on my next shopping trip. I paid £1.99 for a 150ml cannister, which I thought was quite good value for money.
